Macomb Center charges a $4.50 processing fee per orderTicket prices: $16.00 in advance $20.00 at the door

Due to fire regulations, the college requires every person in the audience have a ticket (including babies and children).

RECITAL INFORMATION Students must dance in all of their scheduled performances. If they do not, it leaves a hole in their spot in the dance. Everyone has worked hard all year, so please do your part to make our recital a success.

WHERE TO GO The recital and dress rehearsal is held at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts. When arriving at the college for dress rehearsal and recital, enter through the stage door (located on the side of the Macomb Center, by the loading dock).

WHEN TO ARRIVE All dancers (regardless of which half of the show they are in) must arrive one hour prior to their performance time. Dancers in the 12pm show should arrive by 11am. Dancers in the 6pm show should arrive by 5pm. There is a finale at the end of the recital where all of the students are on stage together. It is requested that dancers stay backstage for the entire performance.

DANCER CHECK IN Students who are in 1-2 dances and are under the age of 12 MUST be checked in at the black box by a parent or guardian upon arrival. For security purposes, dancers must also be checked out by a parent or guardian before leaving the backstage area. Signs to the black box and check in will be posted at the stage door entrance.

DRESSING ROOMS Dressing rooms will be marked according to how many dances each child is in. The black box is for dancers who are in 1-2 numbers and under the age of 12. The back dressing rooms are for students who are in 3 or more classes. Each dressing room will have parent volunteers assigned to them. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the volunteer form.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

There is no food or drinks allowed in the dressing rooms with the exception of bottled water.

Students need to stay in their assigned dressing room until they are called. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WANDERINGTHE HALLS. No one should be in the hallway unless they are coming from or going to the stage.

It is important to keep quiet once entering the stage area.

There is no use of videos or photography of any kind during the recital. There will be a professional video availablefor purchase.

ONLY VOLUNTEERS WILL BE ALLOWED BACKSTAGE DURING THE RECITAL. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A VOLUNTEERBADGE, YOU CANNOT WATCH YOUR CHILD PERFORM FROM BACKSTAGE.

STUDIO PICTURE INFORMATION MAY 13-17, 2019

BTW Photography will be offering high quality, professional, digital images of your dancer for purchase. You will also be able to purchase prints from the photographer website this year. There is no money due up front and no forms to fill out. After picture week, we will email a link to view and purchase photos. Please refer to the picture schedule for information on the day and time of your pictures.

In order to stay on schedule, dancers must have their poses planned prior to entering the photo room. There will be a limit of 2 poses per student, per costume. Teachers will be available to assist you with poses. Sibling/friend shots will only be available at the end of each time slot if time permits in the schedule.

Please note regular classes will not be held during these days. Classes will be held on Saturday, May 17. 1. Wet hair

2. Cover hair with a generous amount of hair gel. Comb hair and pull all of hair back, including any bangs, behindhead in a ponytail just below the crown of the head.

3. Secure the pony tail with a rubber band.

4. Cover the ponytail with hair gel. Take the end of the ponytail and twist it with hands. The tighter you twist thehair the tighter the bun will be when finished.

5. As you twist the hair, it will curl up on itself, eventually forming the shape of the bun.

6. Tuck the tip of the ponytail under the coil of hair created. Secure the bun with several bobby pins.

7. Cover the bun with a hair net (this will hide the wispiness and secure the bun). Overlap the hair net severaltimes and then tuck in under hair. Secure with more bobby pins.

8. Spray the bun and all hair with hairspray to help secure the bun and prevent fly-aways.

HOW TO PUT HAIR IN A BUN

***Per Macomb Center guidelines, anyone watching from back stage must be a volunteer or staff member. Parents that are not volunteers will not be allowed to watch from backstage due to overcrowding. Volunteers will be given a name tag and will be able to enter the stage via this tag.***

It takes a lot of help to run a successful show. We are in need of volunteers for the following positions.

BLACK BOX ROOM PARENT DESCRIPTION The black box is the dressing room for students with 1-2 dances. They escort classes to and from the stage. Parents stay with the class for the entire show and see that the correct parents take them and sign them out. This is a great opportunity to see your child dance on the stage up close and also experience the excitement and thrill of what goes on back stage during a performance. Parents need to arrive one hour before the show to watch over a class as they arrive at the college.

BLACK BOX MANAGERS One person is needed for each show to manage the black box and be in charge of getting the students prepared to line up and perform when the runner requests them.

12 AND UNDER AND 13 AND UP DRESSING ROOMS: ROOM PARENT DESCRIPTION There are two dressing rooms in the back for ages 12 & under and 13 & up. These are for students with three or more dances.

RUNNERS Runners line up the dancers before they perform. We also need runners for the dress rehearsal.

SEWERS Sewers are needed to fix any costumes that need mending during the show.

Dress Rehearsal 1

Thursday, June 13th at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts *** WEAR COSTUME ***

Dress rehearsal attendance is mandatory! Dancers who are absent for the dress rehearsal will not be allowed to participate in the recital. Arrive at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts and head to the auditorium in full costume. Each class is assigned a row at dress rehearsal. Please refer to the schedule for your assigned row and sit with your class in that row. Do not leave the dress rehearsal until you are dismissed by your teacher. No eating or drinking is allowed in the auditorium. If you need to eat while at the rehearsal, please remove or cover up your costume to prevent spills that could stain your costume. Dress Rehearsal is also the time for any parents to take action photos or videos. Cameras or videos are not allowed during the performances. We will have a professional video available for purchase. An order form is available in the Recital Handbook or at the front desk. Attached is a list of the dances and arrival times for dress rehearsal-it is not run in the order of the show. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your rehearsal time. In the theater, to be on time is to be late. There is always a chance that things will run over, but we will do our best to stay on schedule. Please sit in the row that is assigned to your class. In addition to dress rehearsal, there are also studio rehearsals held at Ann Parsley School of Dance on Tuesday, June 11th and Wednesday, June 12th. Wear normal dance clothes, costumes are not worn for the studio rehearsals. Tuesday is practice for the Saturday 12pm show and Wednesday is practice for the 6pm show. Shirt will be gray with screen print. A sample of the artwork is on the right. Image may change slightly and color of ink and shirt are subject to vendor availability.

The recital will be professionally videotaped and DVDs are made available for purchase. Please note that you may choose either a standard DVD or Blu-Ray. Both are $35 when pre-ordered. We highly recommend purchasing the blu-ray version. Blu-Rays offer you a clearer picture and better sound of the recital; however, you must have a Blu-Ray DVD player to watch a Blu-Ray disc. All discs will be available for pick up from Ann Parsley School of Dance.
