• With effect from 2020 JAE, students

should log in to JAE-Internet System (JAE-

IS) using SingPass to register for their JAE

course choices, and subsequently to view

their posting results.

• International students on student pass will

continue to use the JAE PIN provided in

the JAE Form A to access JAE-IS.

- Junior Colleges (DSA-JC)

• DSA-JC offers are confirmed if eligibility criteria for admission to JC are met

• Successful DSA-JC applicants will not be eligible to participate in JAE

• Unsuccessful DSA-JC applicants may take part in JAE

Early Admissions Exercise (EAE)

• EAE offers are confirmed if the following criteria are met

– A net ELR2B2 score of 26 points or better for the GCE O-Level examinations; and

– Minimum Entry Requirements for the respective polytechnic course

The GCE O-Level is not the destination.

It is part of the process of growing and learning.

As you await your GCE O-Level results, there are 3possibilities:

– You are happy that your results meet yourexpectations,

– You are overjoyed that your results exceed yourexpectations, or

– You are worried / upset because your results fallshort of your expectations.

Remember that everyone’s learning journey is differentbut we can have a fulfilling outcome!

Managing Your Emotions and Making Your Decisions

Stop any unhelpful thoughts or actions that would make you more upset. Inhale deeply and exhale slowly using 10 counts as you relax your muscles. Acknowledge your emotions.

Think through the different options that are available for you. Keep things in perspective. Remember that the O-Level is just one part of your life journey and not the destination.

Approach a trusted adult and seek his/her help. Have aconversation with this person about what would be best for you.Make a decision based on your options and take action.

• If you have any concerns or are not coping, do reach out to someone you trust and speak with them. It could be a parent, teacher, school counsellor or a friend that you can talk to.

• If you experience prolonged difficulties, you may approach the Community Health Assessment Team (CHAT). To speak with a youth support worker, you can visit CHAT Hub at *Scape, #05-05. You can also call 6493 6500/ 6501 or email CHAT@mentalhealth.sg.

• Alternatively, you may also call the Samaritans of Singapore’s 24 hour hotline at 1800-221-4444 to speak with someone.

Providing support for your child…

• Celebrate your child's efforts.

• Pay attention to your child’s socio-emotional needs.Acknowledge your child’s emotions. Help them managetheir expectations and emotions, especially if they haveoverly high expectations or negative emotions.

• Engage your child in conversations on their educationinterests and support them in pursuing their diverseaspirations. Remind your child that the GCE O-Levelresults do not determine how successful he/she will bein the future.

• Work in partnership with your child’s teachers toidentify, understand, and encourage your child’sstrengths and interests.

Providing social emotional support

Look out for out-of-characterbehaviours in your child, e.g.deliberate social withdrawal,sudden changes in appearance ortemperamental changes.

Should common signs of stresspersists, parents should seek helpand advice from a healthprofessional.

You may wish to inform yourchild’s new school on his / herwell-being, so that appropriatesupport can be given, e.g.monitoring by teacher orcounsellor.
