COMSATS is an international / intergovernmental organization which was established in 1994. Working for the sustainable socio-economic uplift of the developing counties through the use of science and technology. The Heads of State level commission has 27 member states and a Network of 22 S&T Centres of Excellence in 20 developing countries. Hon. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of Republic of Ghana, is the incumbent Chairperson of COMSATS. (www.comsats.org) The American Institute of Pakistan Studies (AIPS) was established in 1973. The institute is a bi-national research and educational organization with a mission to encourage and support research on issues relevant to Pakistan and promote relevant scholarly exchanges between the United States and Pakistan. (www.pakistanstudies-aips.org) The Centre for Climate Research and Development was established by COMSATS University Islamabad in 2014, based on the realization of the need to develop Pakistan’s capacity to enhance understanding of climate change, develop relevant technical research capacity, establish knowledge networks and links in the region and internationally, and promote the teaching of climate sciences.
