Director of StudiesOur Mission StatementAshley English Language Institute endeavors to provide high quality and relevant pathway English programs to overseas students at its Ashfield campus, to ensure the highest level of satisfaction to all its stakeholders while maintaining professional, personal and academic integrity in all activities.

The main objective of the college is to provide students with the necessary English language skills so that they can communicate their needs and intentions to speakers of both English and other first languages.

The college aims to maintain quality by providing courses to only a small number of students and maintaining a good nationality mix. Our group of highly experienced, professional teaching and administrative staff will help the college achieve its mission.

Academic StaffThe success of any school depends greatly on the skills and experience of the teachers and methodology. All teachers at Ashley English Language Institute have degrees or advanced degrees in TESOL or related fields. Their experience, combined with small class sizes, will guarantee expert attention and maximum class participation.

AELI’s administration and student services team provide one-on-one assistance to the students to complete the enrolment process by guiding them through documents via phone calls, emails and face-face sessions.

Prior to the commencement of the course by attending the mandatory orientation day at AELI; students are provided information on course details including course summary, requirements, assessment and course progress, campus facilities and fire and safety aspects. An orientation day schedule will be sent to the enrolled students prior to the orientation day

Counselling services are available to students in order to assist them with their career aspirations and any other matters concerning their study at AELI. Students with issues regarding the transition into life and study in Australia should contact the Student Services Officer, Student Services Manager, Director of Studies and CEO. Students with significant issues will have access to an external 3rd party counsellor that the college has an agreement with.

Students with any special medical or physical requirements should advise the Student Services Officer. AELI endeavours to assist students with special needs to ensure their comfort and convenience are optimised. Information regarding available support services is accessible to students.

Ashley English Language Institute (AELI) offers appropriate support services to students to ease the transition into life and study in Australia and allow access to appropriate assistance as needed.

Our GE courses give a good foundation in all areas of English language; Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing, Vocabulary and Grammar. Every lesson is based on a specific topic or theme and language skills are taught within the framework of the topic. Our teachers provide our students ongoing support, advice, encouragement and feedback.

Our Timetable

Study Break

For every 12 weeks that students are enrolled in the course, they have the option of taking 4 weeks of study break. For example, a student who enrolls for 50 weeks is eligible for 12 weeks of study break. Taking this study break however is optional. Students need to give two weeks’ notice to the college to indicate when they will take their study break.

The college building comprises of 6 classrooms, equipped with power point projectors, teacher computers, white boards, sound system. A student computer lab, equipped with 20 flat screen computers and laptop with Microsoft Office, Internet, printing and photocopying facilities, Reception and meeting room, Student break-out area, Resource library, Staff and student kitchen, Student services office space, Administration and Management office space.
