INTRODUCING BOWEN TOURISM & BUSINESS

Bowen Tourism & Business is an award-winning not-for-profit organisation and the recognised Local Tourism Organisation (LTO) for Bowen, Collinsville and the Top of the Whitsundays. We work in conjunction with the Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO) Tourism Whitsundays, and Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) to actively promote our towns and region. Bowen Tourism & Business operate the accredited and award-winning Bowen Visitor Information Centre at the Big Mango, and an information booth on Bowen’s foreshore.Welcoming over 40,000 visitors annually, our information services assist visitors with journey planning throughout Queensland and provide a professional accomodation and tour booking service.

We provide destination marketing for the Bowen & Collinsville area, promoting the diversity of the region on offer at the Top of the Whitsundays, and in the Whitsundays’ Outback. We actively promote event and tourism development, working closely with our partners.

Proudly working with local businesses, stakeholders and the Whitsunday Regional Council we strive to develop and maintain a healthy and sustainable local tourism industry. In addition to marketing our region as a wonderful holiday destination, we advocate on behalf of our communities for tourism industry requirements and infrastructure to attract both visitors and new business.

You are a part of an organization proactively and collectively marketing our destination to a broad range of audiences. A large-tourism membership with Bowen Tourism and Business provides the opportunity to participate in promotional activities, networking opportunities and keep up to date on the progress of our strategic plan. LARGE TOURISM MEMBERSHIP INFORMATIONA large tourism business membership with Bowen Tourism and Business is aimed at operators directly benefiting from tourism trade including accommodation, restaurants, cafes and tour operators with 10 or more employees. Businesses are located within the Whitsunday Regional Council boundary.

At just $650 per annum this membership level offers tourism operators a way to promote their business through the Bowen VIC, online and across multiple media platforms and outlets.

LARGE TOURISM MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION


Booking Services at the Bowen VICBowen Tourism and Business offers a booking service to visitors at the Big Mango Visitor Information Centre and Front Beach Booth. Bookings are currently taken for members who are set up through Book Easy and via phone for members who are not. Bookings can also be made 24/7 by potential visitors through the Bowen Tourism website.

Booking commission forms an important source of income for BTB and directly supports the operation of the VIC, the continued promotion of our members, and marketing our destination. Commission on all bookings is set at a flat rate of 15%. If you are not yet registered through the Book Easy system please contact the sales team at Bowen Tourism and Business.

Members Only Portal & Image LibraryGenerating content and displaying great images is a number 1 priority for many businesses in all sectors today. Unfortunately small business owners don’t always get the time! Bowen Tourism and Business offers members access to a free image library. Images can be used without credit across social media platforms, websites and in printed materials. BTB understands that by providing great images of our destination to our members we are actively promoting Bowen as a collective whole.

In addition Bowen Tourism and Business offers members a resource section with documents detailing varying aspects of marketing, finding grants and working with media and trade. Throughout the year our members have the opportunity to attend workshops that cover these aspects, however it is often difficult for small business owners to attend. The members portal is a one-stop-shop for all this information and much more.
