Auction Instructions

LIVE AUCTIONApproximately 15 items will be auctioned live on the evening of November 3. Please be generous in your bids.This is our biggest fundraiser and continues to be an enjoyable community event for the entire year. You maypay for your live auction items in person on opening night with cash or check.

SILENT AUCTION• Silent Auction Item bidding begins the same evening as the Live Auction and continues between and after

Sunday services on November 4 and November 11.• For items that have a minimum bid: you may continue to bid but MUST bid a higher price than the previous

bidder to successfully win.• For items that have a fixed bid: the first people to sign up win. Later bidders will be placed on a wait list.• You will be notified and invoiced by email if you are a winning bidder for silent auction items.• If you are the winner of a particular service or item, it is your responsibility to contact the donor once you

have paid to arrange for pickup or delivery of the service or item. Items stored at the Fellowship will beavailable for pick up upon payment of your invoice.

pAYmENTSPayment is due for all items by two weeks after date of invoice. We will offer the opportunity to pay for yourwinnings and pick up your items stored at the Fellowship on two Sundays, November 18 and 25.

Or you can pay by credit card via the REALM website or REALM’s Text to Give option.A link to instructions for using either of these REALM options will be available on the Service Auction Web page(muuf.org/service-auction). If we do not receive timely payment in full for your winnings, your place will beoffered to the next person on the wait list.

EVENTS (DINNERS, ETC.)If you later find that you are unable to attend an event, you should contact the Fellowship Administrator,who will check the wait list to find a replacement. Alternately, you may consider your payment to be atax-deductible donation to the Fellowship. Also, please notify the host/hostess of your unavailability.

SERVICESSome services specify dates by which the service must be taken; all other services must be taken by September30, 2019. If you have bought a service but do not take it by the time limit, your payment will be considered atax-deductible donation to the Fellowship. Thank you.

All goods and services are offered “As Is.” You participate in all events at your own risk. By his or her purchase,the buyer waives any claim for liability against either the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship or the donor ofproperty or services that may result from the utilization of property or services sold. The Service AuctionCommittee reserves the right to determine the winning bid(s), to make any corrections to a listing, or towithdraw an item that does not reach the minimum price. Decisions of the committee are final.

Silent Auction Bidding RulesThere are two ways to bid – Minimum Bid or Fixed Price.

mINImUm BID – In order to win, you must make the highest bid. Please check the offers again each Sundayto see if you want to bid higher.

INCREMENTS – If an item is marked minimum bid and beginning bid is $100 or less, you must raise the bid by$5 to be considered. If minimum bids are $101–$199, bids increase by at least $10. If items start at $200 ormore, bids increase by $25 or more.

FIXED pRICE – This is THE price.

ONE NAME to a line on the bid sheets please.

pROXIES – If someone has paid the proxy fee for you to bid on their behalf, that person should give youinstructions on items of interest and maximum prices that you are authorized to bid. You will be given a proxybidding paddle to use during the Live Auction. For the Silent Auction, you may print the name of the person forwhom you are the proxy bidder on the bid sheets in the Terrace Room on November 3, 4, or 11.
