Zone Control Valve SetDescriptionEMACO Zone control valve is a combined unit of signal butterfly valve, waterflow indicator, pressure gauge and test & drain valve assembled on fire protection pipeline network of sprinkler system. It separates the fire area into small distribution zone for indication and control. A sprinkler system must be capable of shut down after the fire has been controlled, and for periodic maintenance and modification which function is achieved by using a Zone Control valve. Because of fire sprinkler head or test valve activation, the indicator detects water flow and transmit signal to control system for action. After fire suppression, butterfly valve gets signal and closes to shut down the water flow of the designated zone for recovering the system, or for routine maintenance. installation in wet pipe sprinkler system. External bypass prevents false alarm under all supply pressure condition. In the event of variable pressure condition, false alarms are prevented with the provision of retard chamber, thus the design allows for installation under both variable and constant supply pressure condition. Operation of one or more automatic fire sprinklers, the water flows into the sprinkler system and the alarm valve opens, allowing continuous flow of water into the system and transmittal of alarm, both electrical and mechanical.

Retarding Chamber Retarding Chamber is used with Alarm Valve Trim when variable pressure is anticipated in the system. It is a holding tank to prevent activation of the Sprinkler Alarm during water pressure surge, but permits the activation of alarm on sustained flow. When the flow through inlet of Restriction Nozzle exceeds the drain nozzle flow, the Retarding Chamber begins to fill and there by flowing to sprinkler alarm and pressure switch to activate the alarm. Use of Retarding Chamber prevents the false alarm in variable pressure system.

Alarm BellSprinkler Alarm is a hydraulically driven mechanical bell. It does sound a continuous alarm when the sprinkler system operates. The impeller and drive shaft are energy efficient, made from light weight nonmetallic material and do not require any external lubrication. The gong, protection cover and motor housing are made of corrosion resistant aluminium alloy. When the sprinkler system is activated by the fusing of one or more automatic sprinklers at fire condition, the water flows through the Alarm Valve/Deluge Valve and enters the sprinkler alarm through the nozzle, creating a high velocity jet which strikes the impeller causing the drive shaft and the striker arm assembly to rotate. The alarm arm assembly rotates and strikes to impact against the aluminium gong, producing a continuous alarm. The waste water then drains out through a 25NB drain outlet.

FOAM BASED PROTECTION SYSTEMMany flammable liquids cannot be controlled or put out by a traditional sprinkler system. Foam systems are known for being able to separate fuel from the air (oxygen), making them the best fire protection system for companies that handle or processes flammable liquids, including gas and oils. Balanced pressure proportioning is the most common method used for foam system applications. The foam concentrate pressure is balanced with the water pressure at the proportioner inlets allowing the proper amount of foam concentrate to be metered into the water stream. With an aspirating discharge device, foam solution passes through an orifice, past air inlets, and into an expansion area to produce an expanded foam. With nonaspirating devices, foam solution passes through the orifice and discharge outlet where it mixes with air enroute to the fire.

When a detector is activated (1), the system’s main valve (3) opens due to the loss of pressure in the feed chamber of the foam control valve (4), allowing its simultaneous opening and feeding the foam into the sprinkler system. At the same time, in the diaphragm tank (5), the void is pressurized between the inner tank wall and the membrane. This forces the foam towards the dispenser (6). Passage of the water through the venturi zone of the dispenser produces a controlled pressure fall that extracts the foam and mixes it with the water in the right proportion. From that moment the foam solution passes through the nozzle discharge system or open sprinklers (7).

EMACO 1230 Fire Suppression SystemEMACO 1230 is the next generation Halon alternative. It is applied as a gas, but is liquid at room temperature. It is electrically non-conducting and has much lower vapor pressure than other clean agents. Transition from a liquid to a gaseous state is very rapid when discharged through a nozzle and evaporates more than 50 times than water. It has zero ozone depletion potential and a global warning potential of 1. It has only 5-day atmospheric lifetime, making it the safest clean agent for fire suppression system. Full chemical name of EMACO 1230 is dodecafluoro-2-methylpentan-3-one. It is designated in the NFPA 2001 and ISO 14520 clean agent standards as FK-5-1-12.

Storage components consist of the cylinder assembly(s), which contains the EMACO 1230 fluid, and the cylinder bracket(s), which holds the cylinder assembly securely in place. Distribution components consist of the discharge nozzles used to introduce the EMACO 1230 fluid into a protected hazard along with the associated piping system used to connect the nozzles to the cylinder assembly. Trim components complete the installation of the suppression system and consist of connection fittings, pressure gauge, low-pressure supervisory switch, electric valve actuator, and manual valve actuator. Slave arrangement components consist of the pneumatic valve actuator(s), actuation check valve, vent check, actuation hose, and fittings required for a multiple cylinder (slave) arrangement. Supplemental components include the discharge pressure switch and manifold check valve. They supplement the core equipment or complete a specific multi-cylinder configuration. This device monitors the condition of the electric actuator, detectors, warning devices, cylinder pressure, and any manual release and abort stations. All electric or electronic devices must connect to the control panel in order to function. Detection devices coupled with manual release and abort stations maximize system efficiency while audible and visual alarm devices alert staff of alarm conditions.

EMACO 125 Fire Suppression SystemEMACO 125 is a trademark of EMACO’s HFC-125, Pentafluoroethane. It extinguishes a fire primarily through Heat Absorption that occurs as the agent changes from a liquid to a vapor during discharge.
