Following on from our hugely popular 2017 motorsport season, we are pleased to present our new and expanded 2018 motorsport tours brochure.

We continue to innovate and expand our event portfolio in conjunction with the rich heritage of core motorsport events that you request year-on-year.

Our unwavering desire to create perfect events for the enthusiast has led us to concentrate our efforts on creating ‘hosted tours’, whether that be to the Mille Miglia or Italian Grand Prix. To reflect this, we have changed our company name to Twynhams Tours. The name might be new, but it comes with the same high-quality level of service you’ve come to expect over the last 12 years.

Once again, we have secured a range of fantastic events allowing us to offer you a much wider and more varied programme for the coming year.

Highlights this year include the historically important Formula One Grand Prix’s in Monte Carlo, Silverstone, Spa-Francorchamps and a completely new Tour to the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, as well as the floodlit season finale in Abu Dhabi to end the year in style.

MILLE M IGL IA TO U RITALY / MAY 2018

The Mille Miglia (Italian for Thousand Miles) was an open-road endurance race which took place in Italy twenty-four times from 1927 to 1957. The ‘Mille Miglia’ is one of the greatest classic car ‘race’ events in the world. Since it’s reintroduction back in 1977 it has been a four-day regularity race around Italy, starting and finishing in Brescia, taking in Rome and other historical Italian cities.

DAY ONEMonday. Your tour starts with complimentary transfers from local airports to our

boutique hotel on the shores of Lake Iseo. Our private Riva motor yachts will collect

you for an early evening cruise to a drinks reception and welcome dinner at our

favourite lakeside restaurant.

DAY FOURThursday. As the race winds its way south you will have the choice of shopping and

sight-seeing in historical Bologna, or for the petrol-heads, we will visit the Ducati

Factory, Museum and private Maserati collection. This evening’s dinner is on the

terrace of a converted Italian farmhouse, overlooking the majestic Italian countryside

surrounding Reggio Emilia.

DAY TWOTuesday. After a relaxing morning at your leisure we will transfer you to Brescia town

centre for the ‘sealing ceremony’ where you’ll have time to enjoy a cappuccino and

catch your first glimpse of the classic cars heading through the town centre, followed

by dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY FIVEFriday. As the cars head North, we will visit the Lamborghini Factory followed by a tour

highlight, the chance for you to drive a Ferrari through the streets of Maranello! After

lunch at the legendary Cavallino Restaurant we will have a private guided tour of the

Ferrari Museum before catching the cars passing through Parma whilst enjoying our

dinner.

DAY THREEWednesday. We set off to Fiera near the race start to soak up the atmosphere of

the pre-race build up in the collecting area before taking our seats in a restaurant

overlooking the cars as they pass by on leg one of their adventure. Late afternoon we

depart to our next overnight stop in Bologna.

final leg of the race passing through the pedestrian area en-route to the finish. After a

One of the highlights of the Grand Prix season is the Belgian Grand Prix at the legendary Spa Francorchamps circuit in the Ardennes Forest and you can be there to experience a weekend you’ll never forget!

Spa Francorchamps circuit is among the most historic on the Formula One calendar. Having hosted a (non-championship) Grand Prix as longago as 1924 it remains one of the most popular venues with drivers and fans alike.

The original Spa layout was an amazing 14.9km long and notoriously dangerous. The lap distance has reduced slightly over the years, with some corners eased, but when the ‘old’ circuit staged its final Grand Prix in 1970 it still measured just over 14km and remained staggeringly quick. Chris Amon set that year’s fastest lap at an average speed of almost 180mph.

DAYS ONE & TWO - THURSDAY & FRIDAYCheck in to our fantastic 4* hotel just south of Bologna and enjoy your en-suite Prestige Room and private balcony. Early evening it’s time to meet your fellow guests for a drinks reception and welcome dinner in the hotel’s superb restaurant.

After a hearty breakfast on friday morning we will transfer you to Maranello town centre for one of the highlights of your trip, the chance to drive a Ferrari for 30-minutes around the hills of Maranello.

After lunch at the legendary Cavallino restaurant and private guided tour of the Ferrari Museum we will depart Maranello for our hotel in Milan. We are booked in for dinner at one of our favourite Milanese restaurants.

DAY THREE - SATURDAYToday we’re heading out of Milan to the north and the stunning scenery of Lake Como. Our private motor boat will be waiting to whisk you on the one hour ride across the most beautiful of northern Italy’s lakes, from Como town at it’s very southerly tip to Bellagio, half way up the length of the lake.

After a brief look around the picturesque lakeside town we will meet by the side of the lake in our favourite restaurant. A sumptuous lunch will be served and you’ll have plenty of time to take in the views, enjoy the ambience and sample some great Italian wines. After lunch there will be time to take another leisurely wander around the shops before our return to the hotel by coach in the late afternoon.

DAY FOUR - SUNDAYRace Day - After breakfast we depart in plenty of time to get to the Monza Circuit before the traffic builds. Your location for today is a grandstand seat at the famous Variante Ascari chicane. Sitting opposite one of the large TV screens, you won’t miss a moment of action in the build up to and during the big race, along with all of the support races.

After the day’s action at the circuit, it’ll be a fairly short ‘pit stop’ back at the hotel for aquick freshen up and then we will make our way to the farewell dinner in one of Milan’s top locations. Have a final drink with new friends, relive the highlights of your weekend and soak up the atmosphere and ambience of Milan for one last time.

Step back in time to a more glamorous age with a journey to the Goodwood Revival. This world-renowned classic car extravaganza celebrates the daring, dashing spirit of motor racing from the forties to sixties.

It’s an unabashed celebration of flat-out wheel-to-wheel racing around the sweeps and curves of this classic circuit, which remains unchanged since its heyday. The inaugural Revival opened on 18 September 1998, when the Earl of March drove around the circuit in the Bristol 400 in which his grandfather, the 9th Duke of Richmond, opened the track 50 years before. It’s now the world’s most celebrated historic motor racing event, where fans can soak up its unique vintage atmosphere.

SPA S IX HOURS CLASSIC FESTIVALSPA / 14-17th September 2018One of the highlights of the classic motorsport season is the Six Hours of Spa race weekend at the legendary Spa Francorchamps circuit in the Ardennes Forest and you can be there to experience a weekend you’ll never forget!

With races for the Masters FIA Historic Formula One, Pre-66 Touring cars and Endurance Legends, there is plenty of on-track action to keep you entertained. The highlight of the weekend is the six-hour race into the night starting at four o’clock on Saturday afternoon. Ford GT40’s, Jaguar E Types and a multitude of Lola’s and Ferrari’s from the sixties battle it out as dusk descends over the legendary circuit.

Between the races be sure to visit the ‘Maison de la Fédération Belge des Véhicules Anciens’, the Shopping Street and classic car parks.

Since the very first Grand Prix at Silverstone in 1950 drivers have risked their

lives to race at the most glamorous locations, in the most technologically

advanced cars, against the toughest competitors and all with one goal in

mind – to be the Formula One World Champion!

In 2017 Lewis Hamilton became F1 World Champion for the fourth time and

proved that with hard work, determination and the will to win you can realise

your dreams. He has now become the most successful British Grand Prix

driver in history and well deserved it is too.

With the new Halo device arriving and more changes to the engine

regulations will Sebastian Vettel or Max Verstappen steal his crown in 2018,

or will it be Championship number five?

Luckily, to enjoy the whole Grand Prix experience, you don’t need to be

one of the ‘few’. Twynhams have been entertaining clients at Formula One

circuits all over the world for the past 11 years and 2018 is no exception.

There are a group of four races at historically important circuits that are the

true grandee events of Formula One. The names Silverstone, Monte Carlo,

Spa Francorchamps and Monza conjure up images of heroes of a bygone

era - Fangio, Moss, Clark, Hill, Mansell and Senna to name but a few.

We don’t offer all the Formula One races on the calendar for the simple

reason that we believe that the atmosphere, heritage and locations are as

important as the races themselves.

We will continue to limit our tours unless a new circuit arrives on the calendar

that you simply cannot resist. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has done just that.

In a few short years, it has become a ‘must see’ race in a fantastic location

with great weather and superb organisation. It’s what’s called in the car

ABU DHABI GRAND P R I XYAS MARINA CIRCUIT / 23–25TH NOVEMBER 2018

Located on the spectacular Yas Island, the Yas Marina Circuit is a shining example of modern Formula One circuit design. Boasting top speeds of 200mph, it is one of the few venues on the calendar to runin an anti-clockwise direction.

Designed by renowned circuit architect Hermann Tilke, Yas Marina has a waterfront setting scenic enough to rival the likes of Monaco and Singapore. With the track wrapping itself around the island’sglamorous marina, there’s plenty of mooring space for the paddock’s superyachts.

Its distinctive design also boasts several innovative elements including the iconic five-star, Yas Viceroy hotel, which straddles the circuit and a pit lane which sees the cars exit via a tunnel passing under thetrack.

All of the grandstands, including the massive hairpin seating area, are covered to protect spectators from the desert sun, whilst the state of-the-art pit building boasts 40 air-conditioned garages.

Hosted by our own team, you will enjoy fantastic views, including 3 corners of the circuit and the stunning Yas Marina.
