2018 EASTER SCHEDULE

Good Friday Service Friday, March 30th 6:30 p.m.

Come and remember the sacrifice that Christ made on our behalf. This Good Friday service will feature

scripture and music and the Lord's Supper as we recount the events that took place around Jesus’ death.

Though a somber mood will be prevalent throughout this service it will help us to look forward to the

resurrection. This service is designed to be family friendly.

FCC’s Easter Egg Hunt for children of all ages!

Toddlers and Preschool are at 6:30 p.m. * K-6th grades are at 7:00 p.m.

Let us come together and worship, celebrating God's power together! This is also a great time for you to get

involved in helping others to experience the saving power of God. Invite your friends, neighbors, co-workers,

and anyone else who doesn't have a church home to come with you and hear the Good News, maybe for the

first time!

Easter Love Offering

Every year, on Easter Sunday, First Christian Church takes up an Easter Love Offering. It is an offering to the Lord,

above and beyond our normal tithe, that simply says “Thank you, Lord.” The fruit of this offering goes to various

missionaries and mission projects. Half of this year’s Easter Love Offering will be split evenly between

Shiloh Christian Children’s Home and Ninos de Mexico. The other half will be divided between the six Bible

Colleges that we support: Lincoln Christian University, Cincinnati Christian University, St. Louis Christian College,

Ozark Christian College, Kentucky Christian University and Collegio Biblico. This year ’s goal is $25,000.

Our children’s ministry volunteers took 15 preteens (4th-6th grade) to SuperStart in

Bloomington, IL on March 9th-10th. SuperStart is a CIY production ministry that is

designed for preteens to learn and grow in their relationships with friends, ministry leaders,

and most importantly, God.

Preteens need teaching that is age specific because they are owning core theological

concepts for the first time in their lives, hence, large number of baptisms happen during

this age.

We thank our FCC congregation for investing and supporting children’s ministry in order

to make these weekend trips happen.”

CIY Believe is a high-energy weekend event for Junior High students

only. It is structured specifically for Junior High students and is

packed with powerful worship and teaching from God’s Word.

This year 11 students and 4 volunteers set off to Springfield to pursue

a deeper relationship with Christ! This year’s theme was God WITH

us. It focused around Matthew 28:20 and the idea that Jesus is with us

always, to the end of the age. We had the opportunity to stay at

Lakeside Christian Church with about 100 other leaders and students,

fellowship together, and sleep for a few hours. Pray for these students

as they navigate life with Jesus by their side.

Oil Belt Christian Service Camp has Online Registration!

Parents can now go to www.oilbelt.com and click on the REGISTER NOW button to register their kid(s) for

summer camp.

First, you will need to setup an account and add your kid’s name and date of birth. Once you are logged in, the

website will show camps that are available for your kid based his or her age and grade.

Second, select the camp week you want your kid to attend. The camp week will show up in the Cart on the

right hand side of the screen. You can add or delete weeks of camp in the online Cart.

Third, you will need to enter FCC Salem’s discount code: fccsalem50. Upon entering FCC’s discount code,

you should see the registration fee for that week reduced by 50%. FCC will pay for half of one camp registra-

tion, per child in your household.

Fourth, a discount verification form will be sent to you. You must have one of

FCC’s minister’s sign this form in order to receive the 50% discount. If you do

not have the signed form verifying our discount, you will be charged the full

price of the camp registration.

In addition to registering your kid online, you can add necessary medical infor-

mation about your child, and prepay for camp t-shirts and canteen cards.
