How to refer your patients
At The Montefiore Hospital we are committed to delivering excellent individual care and customer service to all our patients, from the time they first get in touch with us until after their treatment is complete. Our dedicated and highly trained people aim to consistently achieve excellent results. For us it’s more than just treating patients, it’s about looking after people.
A referral letter is required before any insured patient can be seen by a consultant. Self-funding patients may be able to self-refer with select consultants. Please contact us for further details.
Insured patientsScheme/policy details are required at the time of booking so that we can obtain pre-authorisation for their treatment.

NHS patients
Referrals for NHS patients should be sent through the online e-referral service (formerly Choose and Book) by visiting: https://www.ebs.ncrs.nhs.uk This is the best practice for us to receive referrals, as patients will receive appointments in a timely manner and is a more efficient system.
If no appointment slots are available, then please use the ‘defer to provider’ option.
Diagnostic Imaging
Referrals for diagnostic scanning can be faxed to 01273 828 155. Results will be sent back to your practice, typically within 1 week of scanning.

Blood tests
A large number of blood tests can be conducted on-site at the hospital. These can be arranged for patients with a referral by calling 01273 828 021.
Emergency admissions
Call 01273 828 120 and ask for the nurse in charge. We’ll aim to call you back as soon as we can to update you on the progress of the admission. The hospital does not have an accident and emergency facility.

Arranging fast private treatment Your patient is guaranteed fast access to some of the latest facilities and diagnostic services – usually within a week of referral. If subsequent treatment is required this can usually be completed within a few weeks.

No referral criteria thresholds Referral into the NHS isn’t always possible. At Spire Healthcare we don’t have referral thresholds – so your patient can quickly access consultant appointments and diagnostic facilities including MRI and CT scans.

Choose your patient’s consultant Demand the best for your patients and choose the consultant you want them to see. Your patient will see the same consultant at every appointment and they will be in full charge of their care with the support of our 24-hour resident doctor and experienced nursing team.
Fixed price treatment After the initial consultation with your chosen consultant, we’ll quote an inclusive, fixed price* for all treatment. So there are no surprises once treatment is complete. We also offer two finance schemes, including access to an interest-free option (0% APR representative).
Comfortable surroundings At The Montefiore Hospital patients have their own private room with en-suite shower. We offer a range of appetising meals, all prepared by our on-site chef, and delivered to their room. Visitors are welcome whenever your patient wishes.
