APRIL 2018 IN THIS ISSUE Braveheart Fun! PAGE 3 Braveheart Corporate Challenge PAGE 2 Thank You Friends PAGE 4 If you were able to make it out to this year’s Annual Braveheart Challenge held at Brownwood Paddock Square® you were in for a real treat. We had Firematics teams from around the state competing in various fire training challenges including the Bunker Gear Race, Bucket Brigade and Barrel Push just to name a few. Area businesses and clubs tried their hand at a modified version of the challenges in our Braveheart Corporate Challenge. We also had a zone dedicated for kids complete with clowns, coloring and a rock climbing wall. Fun was had by all and I’m happy to report with minimal bumps and bruises! Thank you to The Villages Public Safety Department for providing support and entertainment; how cool was that Extraction Demonstration! It takes a team of fabulous volunteers to bring this event to life. A few key people I must thank for their dedication and time to this event are The Villages Entertainment Special Events Manager Nadia Lester, Retired Deputy Chief Jeff Day, Firematics Expert Robert Amick and Fire Marshal Dan Hickey (along with their spouses!). They are an amazing team of individuals and I am grateful for their friendship and support. Thank you to my TVIP family for your participation and support with this year’s event, you all ROCK! Thank you to our guest judges: Matt Bass and Dr. Robert Reilly, you two are great sports and I appreciate your willingness to jump in and help. Have I mentioned how awesome our sponsors are? We are fortunate to live and operate in an incredibly giving community, thank to our Partner & Supporter sponsors for your continued generosity in supporting this event thus funding The Scott Robertson Scholarship. Finally, thank you to Scott and Kelly Robertson, the catalyst behind Braveheart Challenge. See you next year! — Sandy Bass 2018 BRAVEHEART CHALLENGE WRAP-UP Wow, another fun filled event in the books! THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS To all First Responders who selflessly give of themselves day after day, Thank You!
