The Organising Committee invites you to the 2018 Australian Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society Conference.

We would like to welcome all delegates from Australia, as well as those from further afield, including our International Guest Presenters, Dr Woo Chun Lee, Dr Caio Nery and Dr Cristian Ortiz.

This meeting provides all of us with the opportunity to share knowledge and research ideas in an effort to expand our field.

We look forward to a dynamic meeting with contributions from local faculty as well as our guest presenters. We hope this meeting will provide an excellent learning opportunity by offering a variety of topics of interest to foot and ankle surgeons from all backgrounds.

Guest Presenters2018 AOFAS Conference

Cristian Ortiz - ChileDr. Cristian Ortiz is the Director of the Foot and Ankle Fellowship program at the Clinica Alemana and Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago, Chile. He is past president of the Chilean foot and ankle society in 2002 and Past president of the Chilean Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons in 2015. He is actively involved in the activities of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), and is currently the secretary of The International Federation of Foot and Ankle Societies. He is regularly involved in international teaching, research and organizational activities and is one of the Founders of the Asia Pacific Foot and Ankle Society.

Woo Chun Lee - South KoreaDr Woo-Chun Lee is currently the Director of the Seoul Foot and Ankle Centre at the Dubalo Orthopaedic Clinic in Seoul South Korea. Prior to this he was a Professor in the department pf Orthopaedic Surgery at the College of Medicine, Inje University, Seoul Paik Hospital. He is a Council Member of the International Federation of Foot and Ankle Societies and a Past President of the Korean Foot and Ankle Society. Dr Lee was the recipient of the Grand Prix: Academic Award at the Korean Orthopaedic Association Meeting last year (2017).

Caio Nery - BrazilAssociate Professor Caio Nery is a Surgeon based at the Albert Einstein Jewish Hospital and the Foot and Ankle Clinic at UNIFESP (Federal University of Sao Paulo). He is a past president of the Brazillian Foot and Ankle Society and the Latin American Legg Foot and Ankle Federation.

Call for AbstractsScientific papers are invited for oral presentations. Authors should submit abstracts written in English to Taylored Images no later than 1700 Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Monday 09 July 2018. Papers received after this date will not be accepted for inclusion in this year’s program.

All abstracts submitted are subject to review by the Scientific Program Committee and will, if accepted, be assigned to either oral or poster presentation. Authors may indicate preference for oral (podium) presentation and/or poster presentation during the interactive Abstract submission process. Once abstracts have been accepted for presentation, no changes will be accepted to their content.
