Who would have thought some 20 years later, he’d sAll be doing it and enjoying it. Bringing the freshest fish right out of the cold North Pacific and slowly, over Alderwood coals, making the best smoked fish that there is! That's what customers tell the Cap’n. Sunset Magazine agrees, and so does Frommers, GQ, and the New York Times. That's what Mike’s wife, Sally, said when she bought some fish from him at a farmers market 20 years ago and decided not to let him go. Together they sell fish at the beauAful San Francisco Bay Area farmers markets, talking and laughing with the people all day long. At Cap’n Mike’s first farmers market in Redwood City, he didn't have labels or fancy packaging. No prices even. He just guessed at what each piece was worth. He tossed his first batch of smoked fish on the table and it was gone in just over an hour. And it's been fun ever since. He found Sally and a world of friends at the farmers markets. Bringing the best fish to the best people...it's all about loving what he does. Mike’s a cross between Sam Elliot and Kris Kristofferson. The ulAmate cowboy. For down Ame, the Cap’n is a North Coast Bohemian, sAll playing his surf guitar. Sally is a monster cook.
