ESSP SWIMMING GALA
On Tuesday 20 March, pupils from eight primary schools will
participate in the ESSP Swimming Gala and will be arriving between
12.20 and 12.30.
Warm ups will start at 12.30 with the races starting at 13.00. Six
sports leaders from William Brookes School will act as Marshalls and
timekeepers. If you have been asked to assist with the Gala, please
ensure you ask your Period 4 class teacher for permission to leave
your lesson at 12.25 so that you may grab a quick bite to eat before
the gala begins.
Parents, if you collect your son/daughter from school at the end of the
day, please be aware that the car park will be particularly busy on
Tuesday with extra buses collecting primary pupils between 15.00 and
15.15.

MATHS CLINIC
Clinics take place every Wednesday in Room 004, from 15.30 to
17.00. For anyone in school who would like some help with their
maths, or to do some revision for tests or exams.
We have two timetabled lessons left with Year 11 Art students before they sit their 10-hour exam. Art students will have no EPP prior to this exam. If you are an art student, our after school sessions are vital for your success. If you have asked these lessons to stop on Wednesday or Thursday evenings for any other subjects, you need to prioritise art. Other staff members have been informed of these sessions. Thank you.

DUKE OF EDINBURGH MEETINGSA reminder of Duke of Edinburgh Expedition training in the next few weeks:
The next meeting for Group 2 is on Saturday 17 March, 10.00 to 14.00 The next meeting for Group 1 is on Tuesday 20 March, 15.45 to 16.45
Participants who miss training meetings run the risk of not being allowed to take part in the expedition for safety reasons. Participants need to bring their information booklets to the meetings.

Congratulations to the school swimming team who achieved SECOND PLACE behind Wrekin College at the Telford Schools Swimming Championships on Wednesday 14 March.
Most of our teams were in a younger year compared to the other teams, so the final result was a great credit to our students! A particular WELL DONE to Elle Humphries, Manali Ware, Hester Whittaker and Jess Heath who won the Inter Girls Competition, retaining the trophy that they won last year.
This weekend eleven William Brookes School students will travel to Crystal Palace to compete in the British Schools Biathlon Championships! We wish good luck to Aimee Craven, Rhys Williams, Ben Ritson, Joe Ritson, Hannah Insley, Sam Price-Tattersall, Monty Dunn, Jess Heath, Manali Ware, Elle Humphries and Louix Tziortzis-Foskett.

If you are rewarded with a Head’s Commendation certificate, please be sure to visit the Head’s Office at break time on Fridays to meet with a member of the Leadership Team and get it signed. Only certificates signed by Mr Renwick or an Assistant Head Teacher will be recorded on Class Charts and the points added to your records. Remember, every point counts towards your final score and that of your House!

All Year 11 GCSE French students will be doing speaking assessments from Monday 19 March to Friday 23 March inclusive. It is important that you make a note of the time of your exam and that you turn up to the Library breakout 15 minutes beforehand in order to prepare your role-play and photo cards.
