He completed his Bachelors of Science in Biology at the Uni- versity of Minnesota in 2016. While in school Nick worked sev- eral part-me jobs in the healthcare field including as an EMT, rehab aide and in a group home with ausc teenagers. In addion, while at the University of Minnesota Nick was on the Mens Crew team where he rowed for 4 years. Upon gradua- on, he worked full-me as an EMT at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. In his free me, Nick enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and snowboarding. He is excited to represent MPAS 3 and work alongside the other programs of RMUoHP. Allison Smith completed her Bachelor of Science in Speech, Language, and Hearing Therapies at Louisiana Tech University in 2007. She obtained her Masters in Communicaon Disor- ders in 2009 from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. Since graduaon, Allison has worked as a speech-language pathologist for the past 8 years in schools, hospitals, outpaent clinics, private pracces, and skilled nursing facilies. She holds the cerficate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Associaon, and is licensed as a speech-language pathologist in Alabama, Alaska, Tennessee, and Texas. Allison currently lives in Madison, Alabama and is the Director of Rehab at a Skilled Nursing Facility. She enjoys working with the geriatric popula- on with a focus on stroke recovery and demena while man- aging her therapy department. Allison looks forward to serving as the SLP representave for the graduate student council as she connues her studies in the ClinScD program as a member of Cohort 5. In her free me, she enjoys spending me running and hiking with her husband, Brian, and her dog, Roux. Thomas Melanson, Residential Sub Chair DPT, cohort 8 10/17 - 6/19 Provo, Utah CELL: 503.688.4078 [email protected] Thomas Melanson was born in Orem, Utah but was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Portland, Oregon. He went Brigham Young University received his Bachelors in Exercise Science in 2016. While aending school Thomas was an assis- tant basketball coach at Timpview High School along with working and volunteering at various PT clinics. Aſter gradua- on he and his wife, Heather, moved down to Ausn, Texas. Thomas is currently enrolled in the eDPT program at RMUoHP and is represenng cohort 8. During his free me, Thomas loves to play any sports, expressly basketball and disc golf, enjoy nature by hiking, mountain bike riding, backpacking, and camping, and spend me with his wife and is excited to spend me with his child that is coming in December.

Nick Dickovich was born and raised in Plymouth, Minnesota. He completed his Bachelors of Science in Biology at the Uni-versity of Minnesota in 2016. Thomas Melanson, Residential Sub Chair DPT, cohort 8 10/17 - 6/19 Provo, Utah CELL: 503.688.4078 [email protected]

Thomas Melanson was born in Orem, Utah but was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Portland, Oregon. He went Brigham Young University received his Bachelor’s in Exercise Science in 2016. Jordan received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training with a minor in Exercise Science and Fitness from the College of Mount St. Joseph in May 2014 and earned a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training from Indiana Wesleyan University in August 2015. Jordan works as an assistant athletic trainer at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio since 2015. His primary duties include working with the Volleyball, Cross Country, Track and Field, Men's Basketball, and Softball teams. Jordan also teaches classes in Sports Medicine minor, including Introduction to Sports Medicine and First Aid/CPR. Jordan is also the athletics representative on the LGBT Committee on campus. Jordan previously worked as a high school athletic trainer in Springfield, Ohio before beginning at CWRU., the Ohio High School Rugby Association and coached high school softball at the JV and Varsity levels.

Raegan Furman DSc Neuro, cohort 5 10/17—10/19 Portland, Oregon CELL: 865.585.2354 [email protected]

Raegan is an occupational therapist with a background in neurological and trauma ICU for adult populations. Raegan recently transitioned to working in pediatric neuro inpatient rehab and the neonatal ICU at Oregon Health Science Univer-sity. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Sci-ences from Furman University and a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina. Although Raegan is originally from Tennessee, her husband and she moved across country from the Southeast to Portland, Oregon. They enjoy being outdoors, fly-fishing, hik-ing and snowboarding. Raegan is very excited to be a part of the neurological rehabilitation track in the DSc program and to join the USC.

Keegan Huntsman MPAS cohort 4 (C20) 7/18 - 3/20 Shelley, Idaho CELL: 208.521.4973 [email protected]

Keegan Huntsman was born and raised in Southeast Idaho in a small town called Shelley. He attended BYU-Idaho and graduat-ed with a degree in exercise physiology in July 2017. While attending school Keegan volunteered as a biology tutor and a clinical interpreter in a clinic with a high spanish-speaking popu-lation. Prior to enrolling at RMUoHP he worked as a patient-care tech in an outpatient rehab facility and as a phlebotomist at a plasma center. In his free time he likes to golf, watch sports, and hike with his wife, Kenzie and dog, Luna. Keegan is excited to hear about things going on in other programs and work to-gether to improve RMUoHP.

Ethan Germann was born and raised in Great Falls, Montana. He

recently graduated in May of 2018 with high honors. He earned

his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Sciences and Disor-

ders and a minor in psychology from The University of Montana in

Missoula, Montana. He was the 2018 Historian for his Mortar

Board National College Senior Honors Society Chapter at the Uni-

versity of Montana. His primary career goal is to become a li-

censed and certified Medical Speech-Language Pathologist. He

desires to work in a hospital or clinic setting with pediatric and

geriatric clients. In addition, he would like to work in the NICU

with premature infants. For the past two summers, Ethan has

worked in assisted living and nursing home facilities as a certified

nursing assistant. He gained valuable entry level healthcare expe-

rience. He was also a camp counselor during the summer of 2015

and had the opportunity to work with a child with Autism Spec-

trum Disorder. In his spare time, Ethan enjoys fishing, hiking,

camping, singing, and playing his acoustic guitar. He looks forward

to spending time with his family and friends. Ethan has a fraternal

twin brother and knows basic American Sign Language. He is truly

honored to represent the MS-SLP-2 program as the Graduate Stu-

dent Senate Representative for the RMUoHP Student Council.

Julian was born in Washington DC. He has a bachelor of sci-ence in business administration degree from American Univer-sity. He played 1 year of soccer at Ohio State University. While attending American he tried to play professional soccer in Eu-rope and was also a personal trainer. He then received his CSCS upon completing his Bachelor Degree. He then started working at a local big box gym as a performance coach and started his business on the side as well. After about a year at the big box gym he and a friend opened a gym focusing on performance training and soccer training for the youth ath-letes. Julian is currently enrolled in the Masters Degree in health science with a focus in Sports Performance. During his free time he likes to play soccer , strength train and go hiking

Lamija Rahmanovic was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Her-cegovina during the time of the Siege of Sarajevo, and came to the U.S. as a refugee in November of 1995 and has lived in the Chicagoland area since. She received her Bachelors of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences with a concentration in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May of 2017. Lamija is currently enrolled in the RMUoHP Masters of Medical Speech-Language Pathology program and is a part of the inaugural class. When not in school, she en-joys hiking around Utah, with her favorite place being Zion so far. She also enjoys winter sports like skiing and snowboarding and loves to travel to different places.

Lisa Katzman, PT, MPT is a Pediatric Physical Therapist and Early Intervention Specialist with Easterseals Bay Area (ESBA) in Oakland, California. She has specialized in the field of early intervention for over 20 years. Lisa received her Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California in 1987. After graduation, she worked for a therapists’ registry group, with placements in vari-ous hospitals, outpatient clinics, and adult rehabilitation programs in the East San Francisco Bay area for approximately two years. For the next six years, Lisa held several jobs in inpatient pediatric rehabilita-tion programs. After moving back to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1996, she discovered her true love, Early Intervention, and she has been doing that ever since. She initially worked in a special day classroom for children from 18-36 months of age; two years later, she transitioned to doing home-based early intervention full-time. She currently provides global developmental treatment to children with disabilities and developmental delays through ESBA’s home-based early intervention program. Lisa is currently an IDA board member and the North Chapter chair-person; she also serves on the education committee of the CPTA Pediatric Special Interest Group. She has been married to her hus-band, Ken, for 30 years; they have two children, including Zachary (age 20) and Ariella (age 18). In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family and to do tap dance, jazz dance, and yoga. She has been involved in both vocal and instrumental musical groups in the past and hopes to resume those activities in the future.

Calvin was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai’i. He completed

his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Sci-

ences at the University of Hawai’I at Manoa in the summer of

2018. Prior to attending RMUoHP’s DPT program, Calvin was

assisting in a cancer rehabilitation study at a local hospital,

working at a tennis retail company and teaching tennis. In his

free time, Calvin enjoys playing and coaching tennis, hiking,

watching NBA games and trying new foods.

Robert Thorson DPT, cohort 9 1/18 - 8/20 Sugar Grove, Illinois CELL: 630.777.2667 [email protected]

Robert was born and raised in Sugar Grove, Illinois just west of Chicago. He completed his Associates in Science from Elgin Community College in 2013. He then went to Campbell Univer-sity in North Carolina where he graduated with a Bachelors in Exercise Science in 2016. He played baseball as a pitcher for both institutions he attended. Before getting into the DPT pro-gram here at RMU he worked as a rehab aide in an outpatient physical therapy clinic and as a program director for a local high school baseball organization called the Kane County Phan-toms. In his free time, he loves to coach youth sports, play golf, learn guitar, and do anything that involves NASCAR or sports car racing. Robert is excited for the opportunity he has been presented with here at RMU and hopes to make the most of it. He also is looking forward to getting married in October of 2018.

Kyndahl Ulmer DPT, cohort 10 7/18 - 3/20 Koosia, Idaho CELL: 208.935.5074 [email protected]

Kyndahl was born and raised in Kooskia, Idaho, which is part of the Nez Perce Indian Reservation. She completed her Bachelors in Exercise Science at Lewis-Clark State Col-lege in Lewiston, Idaho. Where she was a part of the Wom-en’s Basketball Team. Before she was accepted into the DPT program here at Rocky Mountain she was a wildland firefighter out of the Loscha Ranger District and then worked at an outpatient physical therapy office as a Billing Specialist in Boise, Idaho. She has shadowed and worked as a Physical Therapy Aide in offices throughout Kamiah, Cottonwood, and Lewiston, Idaho. In her free time, she loves to paddle board, hike, and play sports. Kyndahl looks forward to be a representative here at RMU and hopes that she can help positively impact this program and the stu-dents.
