Cedar Court is a Mediterranean‐inspired, neo‐Romanesque  Residential building designed by Andrew J. Thomas in the 1920’s

The four story building is made up of red brick facades, with high parapets and breezeways finished with Spanish roofing tiles.

Open Violations Addressed herein• 07‐0013 – For alterations to entrance gate including demolition of pillars without permit(s) 

Remediation Gates

• The building has elected to request the legalization of the removal of the steel gates as an attempt to restore the buildings original open court configuration. 

Masonry Pillars

• The Masonry Pillars would be rebuilt on the original concrete bases to match the original coursing and configuration. The stone coping would be replaced and the existing urn would be refurbished and reinstalled. 

Perimeter Fence 

• The existing perimeter fence would be replaced with a 2’‐0” fence set on a 7” concrete curb. Per details herein.

• The Separation fence which separated the exterior planted are from the courtyard planted area that has been removed will be restored. A 6’‐0” steel set on a 7” concrete curb will be installed between the masonry pillars and the buildings façade wall.

Light Fixtures 

• This application requests approval to install five(5) new Sternberg post and lantern lighting fixture in the court yard to be installed on new concrete bases as indicated on the.  

Windows

• This application request approval to replace two(2) circular (9 lite) stairway windows at the rear of the building, with new fire rated kalameinwindows to match the existing frame and muntins profile.

1993 Masonry pillars at court entrance

The original Masonry Pillars were 2’‐0”x2’‐0” built on a concrete base the vertical height measured 24 brick courses panted white, with a stone coping and ornamental stone features. The concrete base, stone coping, and ornamental features were painted black at the time the designation.

The new Masonry Pillars will 2’‐0”x2’‐0” built on the original concrete base matching the original coursing and profile, with new precast coping stones and refurbished urns.
