The Knitting Group meet

on Monday afternoons

from 1.15-3pm. Why not

come along and learn - or

get help if you are stuck with a knitting problem.

Knitting has been shown to have health benefits and can

help with stress and high blood pressure. A recent

project we took part in produced these small blankets,

20x20 inches, for the premature baby unit at Northwick

Park Hospital. You can join a project or knit your own

thing. Come along and join us - bring your needles and

yarn. Linda *********************************************************************************************************

The Children were excited to prepare for a welcome return visit from our Children's Laureate from Pakistan, the children's author Saman Shamsie, over on vacation from Karachi Grammar School where she teaches. PCL children read Ms Shamsie their own stories. Her delight in their continuing achievements in the Summer Writers’ Challenge, which she launched in 2015, was infectious! Everyone enjoyed Ms Shamsie reading to

the children from her own books: The Magical Woods and The Adventures of Slothful Slough-off (Oxford University Press). Are you coming back next year they asked! Geraldine and Suzanne
