FUEL PROCESSOR CONCEPT
“ALL-IN-ONE SYSTEM”
Fuel Filter
Fuel rises up to the filter. The patented EleMax®
design allows only a portion of the filter media to be
used maximizing filter life.
Water Separator
Water and large contaminants fall to the bottom of the
body and can be drained away.
Fuel Heater (Optional)
Fuel flows through the heated chamber and up into
the ”SEEING IS BELIEVING”® clear cover filter area.
SEEING IS BELIEVING®
The patented clear cover allows the user to know
when not to change the filter.
20
ALL-IN-ONE FUEL FILTER
EleMax® Fuel Filter System
The patented EleMax® valve and half-wrap
feature is designed to maximize filter life and
minimize filter changes for reduced maintenance
cost.
Best-In-Class Water Separation
StrataPore™ Media provides maximum
protection from emulsified and free water
contamination.
Controlled Fuel Heating (Optional)
Fuel flows through the thermostatically
controlled heated chamber and up into the
“SEEING IS BELIEVING”® clear cover filter area.
“SEEING IS BELIEVING”®
The patented clear cover allows the user to
know when not to change the filter.
21
ELEMAX® FILTER TECHNOLOGY
Fuel level rises as the filter media becomes contaminated, the fuel filter doesn't’t need
replaced until fuel level is at the Top Of The Filter.
The Elemax filter can be identified by the half wrap and a Vapor Pressure Relief Valve
on top of the filter element. The combination of Elemax filter design and Stratapore™
media extend filter change intervals.

FILTER MEDIA Laminated Melt Blown Filter Media
STRATAPORE™ does not require chemical treatment for water separation.
Microglass generally
is not acceptable with
current high
pressure common rail
injection systems.
Cellulose
requires
chemical
treatment to
separate water.
23
Larger debris is
captured by the
coarse layer.
Smaller debris is
captured by the
medium layer.
Fine particles are
captured by the
fine layer.

2016 ENGINE / DAVCO COMPATABILITY
• The Diesel Pro / Fuel Pro with StrataPore™ media exceeds all
engine manufacturer requirements
— Cummins ISX, ISL, ISB, ISC
— Detroit Diesel 13, 15, 16
— Mack MP7, MP8, MP10
— Navistar N13, MaxxForce DT
— Paccar MX
— Volvo D11, D13, D16
2017 DTNA / CUMMINS WATER SEPARATION REQUIREMENTS
• DTNA and Cummins have defined more stringent fuel water
separator performance specifications for certain engine
models — Detroit DD13, DD15, DD16
— Detroit MDEG
— Cummins ISB, ISC, ISL
• 2017 Navistar, Paccar and Volvo / Mack and Cummins ISX
proprietary engines do not require any performance changes
from current production
• New 2017 DTNA, Detroit and Cummins engine specific
requirements are driven by fuel injection system performance
that is highly sensitive to fuels with low interfacial tension (IFT)
characteristics.
AFFECT OF INTERFACIAL TENSION ON FUEL WATER SEPARATION
• Fuel water separation (FWS) is highly dependent on a fuels
IFT
— The lower the IFT the more difficult to separate water from the fuel
• IFT can be lowered with the addition of anti-wear additives,
lubricity enhancers, rust inhibitors and biodiesel
• Due to the negative impact of water in the fuel on common rail
fuel injection system hardware, Detroit and Cummins have
mandated that primary fuel filters must meet certain
performance criteria with low IFT fuels
— IFT w/traditional fuels 26-30 mN/m
— IFT w/high additive fuels 11-15 mN/m
NEW FUEL FILTER WATER SEPARATION TEST CRITERIA
• Water Separation Requirement (minimum)
— Fuel w/IFT @ 28 ± 2 mN/m
o 98% w/new filter
o 75% w/filter @ end of life
— Fuel w/low IFT @13 ± 2 mN/m
o 90% w/new filter
o 50% w/filter @ end of life
