Every attendee in the physician program is assigned a badge upon check-in. This badge contains a barcode and will need to be scanned at the beginning and end of each session at-tended to determine the exact duration and assign Continu-ing Education Contact Hours (CECH) accordingly. You must scan in and out of each lecture hall every time you enter and exit in order to receive CECH.

Main Lecture Hall (Orlando IV - VI): Scanning units are located at the entrance to this lecture hall. You will need to scan your badge every time you en-ter and exit. The unit will beep and indicate GRANTED IN upon entering the lecture hall. The unit will beep and indi-cate GRANTED OUT upon exiting the lecture hall.

Daily Side Tracks: Scanning units are located at the entrance to these lecture halls. You will need to scan your badge ev-ery time you enter and exit. The unit will beep and indicate GRANTED IN upon entering the lecture halls. The unit will beep and indicate GRANTED OUT upon exiting the lecture halls.

A log will be posted in the registration area each day for you to review your earned hours and submit corrections, if nec-essary.

Total CECH will be calculated from the electronic badges that each physician uses to enter the lecture halls. These hours will be submitted to CE Broker by FPMA once they are verifi ed, and Florida podiatric physicians can view these hours via their CE Broker account at www.cebroker.com. Podiatric physicians from other states will be mailed certifi cates showing total CECH earned by attending SAM 2017.

SAM attendees will be awarded up to 31.75 continuing educa-tion contact hours, depending on tracks attended. CECH are calculated hour-per-hour based on courses attended (time tak-en for breaks and meals are NOT counted); e.g., a 30 minute Science lecture will earn 0.5 Science credit hours, a one hour Science lecture will earn 1.0 Science credit hours, a 1.5 hour Practice Management lecture will earn 1.5 PM credit hours, etc.

In Florida, Practice Management hours are not required and are limited to 3.0 hours per biennium; Risk Management is limited to 1.0 hour per biennium; Laws & Rules is limited to 1.0 hour per biennium; and Medical Errors is limited to 2.0 hours per bi-ennium. The remainder of the hours can be Science hours.

Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECH) Scanning PolicyREAD CAREFULLY

All X-Ray Assistants participating in the SAM 2017 X-Ray Assistants’ program - for both Initial Licensure and Relicensure - will be assigned a badge upon check-in. This badge contains a barcode and will need to be scanned at the beginning and end of each session attended to determine the exact duration and assign CECH accordingly. You must scan in and out of each lecture hall every time you enter and exit in order to receive CECH, including before and after the Medical Er-rors lectures.

Failure to scan for the entire eight hour program will disqualifi y you from taking the Podiatric X-Ray Assistants Examination on Sunday (for Initial Licensure only). If you are attending the X-Ray Assistants’ program for Relicensure and fail to scan during the eight hour program, you will not receive credit necessary for renewal of your license for the current biennium (April 1, 2016 - March 31, 2018).

Total CECH will be calculated from the badge that each X-Ray Assistant uses to enter/exit the lec-ture halls. Those contact hours will be submitted to CE Broker by FPMA once the conference is over and all hours have been verifi ed.

12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Physician/Exhibitor/ Assistant Luncheon (Voucher Required)

Please Note: If you have pre-registered for the Assistants’ program and would like to pick up your name badge/class materials at the registration desk during SAM 2017 (prior to the day of your program), you are welcome to do so. This will save you time as you will not have to stand in line and check in at the registration desk the day of your program.
