The First Apparition of Fatima
“All dressed in white, more brilliant than the sun,” Our Lady appeared to the
three children on 13 May, 1917:
“I have come to ask you to come here for six months in succession, on
the 13th day, at this same hour. Later on, I will tell you who I am and
what I want,” she said. “Are you willing to offer yourselves to God
to bear all the sufferings He wants to send you, as an act of
reparation for the sins by which He is offended, and for the
conversion of sinners?” They were. “You are then going to have
much to suffer, but the grace of God will be your comfort.”

June
SUNDAY MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY SATURDAY
Explanatory Note for
15 & 23 June:
The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England & Wales have moved the Obligation for Corpus Christi to 18 June. Also, as the Feast of the Sacred Heart (23 June) is a Novus Ordo Solemnity, present Abstinence rules do not apply;
however, traditional Abstinence rules would only have been
suspended for a Holy Day of Obligation which this is not. Similarly applied in Scotland.
The Tuy Vision
On 13 June 1929, Sr Lucy was praying in the chapel of her convent in Tuy,
Spain. “Suddenly, the whole chapel lit up with a supernatural light and on
the altar appeared a cross of light which reached the ceiling,” she writes. She
saw a vision of the Holy Trinity and the Blessed Sacrament. Our Lady of
Fatima appeared, showing her Immaculate Heart. “The moment has come,” she
said, “in which God asks the Holy Father to make, in union with all the bishops of
the world, the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, promising to save it
by this means. So numerous are the souls which the justice of God condemns for sins
committed against me, that I come to ask for reparation. Sacrifice yourself for this
intention and pray.”
