A message from the President & CEO:
Thank you for making 2017 yet another remarkable year for YWCA Youngstown. Our dedicated staff has done an incredi-ble job of expanding our outreach while strengthening our programs and services.
Some significant highlights for 2017 include:
1) Completion of the Kensington Liberation Station Project which will provide permanent and transitional housing for lowincome families including veteran families;
2) Starting the International Women’s Day Event to expand cultural understanding and bring about community cohesiveness;
3) Moving transitional housing to the East Side of Youngstown.
Another noteworthy step YWCA has taken is to partner with YWCA Warren. In a progressive approach, this year YWCA
worked to strengthen our presence across the region by partnering with YWCA Warren to bring about strategic integra-tion. YWCAs of Youngstown and Warren entered into discus-sions on combining services to efficiently use available resources, as well as exploring other models of partnership to sustain the health of our respective organizations and improve our collective impact on the community.
The strategic work we pursue will prepare us well for the future, where there are more demands and far fewer resources.
YWCA is stronger than ever due to our continually expanding community who comes together to donate time, resources, and talent in support of our important mission.
Thank you for wholeheartedly being a part of the YWCA. We are looking forward to much more in 2018!
