MD’s StatementFIN Insurance Company Limited (formerly, Yankari Company Limited) was incorporated on 24th April, 1981 as a limited liability company wholly owned by the Bauchi State Government. It was registered as a licensed insurer in 1982, and commenced business on the 1st January, 1983.The company was then acquired by Finbank Plc and had its name changed to Fin Insurance Co. Ltd in 2008. In 2012, Finbank was taken-over by First City Monument Bank (FCMB) while Fin Insurance subsequently became a member of the FCMB Group. In a bid to transform the company’s operations, Fin Insurance was acquired by Cornerstone Insurance Plc (with Capital Alliance Private Equity III Limited) in 2014. This move was ratified and approved by National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) in 2015; thereby making the company a subsidiary of the Cornerstone Group.

As at December 31, 2015, the company recorded a gross premium income of N757million with the total Assets in excess of N6 Billion. The company Authorized Share Capital was increasedin 2009 to N5 Billion ordinary shares of N1.00 each. The company is currently capitalized beyond the compliance requirements of the Investment and Securities Act 1999 and the Insurance Act 2005 with N3.3 Billion paid up share capital.

With over fifteen (15) branches nationwide and its head office located at 34 Gana Street, Maitama, Abuja, FIN Insurance has grown to become a strong, reliable and trustworthy brand in the insurance market. The company has the goal of becoming a global player within the framework of global standards and ethics. Our operation ranges from insurance of diverse risks to Indemnity, Guarantees and Asset Management amongst others. He is a seasoned Insurance Professional with more than two decades in Insurance practice ranging from Underwriting, Insurance broking and Marketing. Prior to joining the Company in May 2016, Polycarp was regional Manager of Afribank Insurance Brokers, North East from 1990 to 1993.

He became an Assistant Director with Industrial General Insurance in 2001. He moved to Guaranty Trust Assurance Plc., now AXA Mansard Insurance as Regional Manager, North and later became Group lead, Public Sector/CBN. He left as an Asst. General Manager in 2013 to take appointment as MD/CEO of Guinea Insurance Plc. A position he held before joining Fin Insurance Co. Ltd, a member of the Cornerstone Group in May 2016.

Polycarp is an Alumnus of Lagos Business School as well as University of Lagos. He has attended several professional and Management courses locally and internationally. He is also an associate of both Chartered Institute of Insurance in Nigeria and Nigerian Institute of Management.He holds a MBA in General Management from ATBU, Bauchi.

He is a fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (2012). Prior to assuming his current position, Ademola was the Ag. Managing Director of Fin Insurance Comapany Limited. He pioneered Bancaassurance/retail team as an AGM in Cornerstone Insurance plc. The team managed a large array of clientele ranging from the banking, telecoms and micro insurance products for the company.

He had also worked as Head, Oil and Gas; in that role he was responsible for setting the overall vision and strategy for sales and revenue growth as well as for client relationship management within the oil sector.

Ademola has over 24year’s experience in the insurance industry, he has vast experience in insurance technical as well as relationship and strategic management.He has a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Rivers State College of Science and Technology (2007); He is an alumnus of both prestigious London and Lagos Business Schools including the University of Texas. He has attended various management courses locally and internationally.

He is the NAICOM Relationship/Compliance Officer. Prior to joining Fin Insurance, Mr Nasir was a Manager Inspectorate and held other management positions since 1998 with NAICOM.

He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from University of Maiduguri and a Diploma in Insurance from West African Insurance Institute, Gambia. He is an Associate of Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM), Associate Member. He is also a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)

He is a 1995 Insurance graduate of University of Lagos. He started his career with Royal Exchange Assurance Co. Ltd in 1997 until 2002 when he left for Femi Johnson, & Co. Ibadan. He also worked with Cornerstone Insurance Co.

Prior to joining Fin Insurance as a Senior Manager he had worked with Guaranty Trust Assurance. He holds an MBA in Marketing Management and is also an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Insurance in Nigeria.

A consummate marketing strategist, he won the “Award for Exceptional Performance” at Cornerstone Insurance Plc in 1997 and was best producing staff at Linkage Assurance Plc in 2001.

He is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School [LBS], holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and an MBA from the University of Ado-Ekiti. He is also an Associate of both the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria [CIIN] and the Nigerian Institute of Management [NIM].

Fatima Umar is the head of Admin and Human Resource. She holds a B.Sc. in Sociology from Bayero University, Kano and an MBA at (ATBU).

Before joining Fin Insurance Co. Ltd, she has over fifteen years of Banking experience, she worked with the defunct Inland Bank/FinBank at managerial position.

Adejo is a trained sales person with over 15 years’ experience in selling and underwriting.

He started his insurance career after his NYSC service with Cornerstone Insurance and has since then worked in the Claims department of Cornerstone Insurance and then became the Kano Branch Manager and later the Abuja Branch Manager of Cornerstone Insurance. He was on the team that was seconded to Fin Insurance Co. Ltd in 2014 from Cornerstone Insurance where he served as the Acting Head of Technical for Fin Insurance.

Presently he is the Head, Marketing for Fin Insurance over-seeing the Head Office sales team. He is a Accounting graduate who has switched over his career to insurance. He is a fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Nigeria and also a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria.He has attended several local and international courses on insurance sales and underwriting.
