Get Ready Go Summer Camp (P.1 Preparation group) Objective:

• To assist children to develop independence in a class that is similar to a typical primary 1 classroom

• To strengthen children’s self-care skills in class (such as eating snack and packing school bag independently)

• To strengthen children’s social skills (learning how to spend their recess time with peers)

Content: In this summer camp, children will enjoy activities similar to a P.1 classroom. They will enjoy games involving language practice. There will be sessions where children will attend academic classes such as reading and math that may require them to complete worksheets as well as homework to complete at home. There will also be a P.E session where children will be asked to participate in various sports activities with partners or teams. During recess time children will be shown how to spend their leisure time with peers. Children will have training by the occupational therapist about how to pack their school bags and how to eat their lunch independently with good manners. We aim to help children to be well prepared before entering primary school, to have a smooth transition to prepare for a happy school life! Note: Children are required to bring their lunch and enjoy it within group time from 11:15 – 12:00nn. Please bring along simple lunch (e.g.: sandwich, thermos with rice, food that does not require heating up)

• Strengthen children’s ‘Attention’ and ‘Executive function’

• Strengthen children’s ‘Visual attention’ • Strengthen children’s ‘Auditory attention’

• Strengthen children’s ability to follow instructions given in a classroom setting to complete tasks

Content: ‘Executive function’ can help us to complete tasks. If we want to use the ‘executive function’ in the brain to analyze information, first we need to use attention to insert the information into our brains. Through various activities and games, children will learn to strengthen their visual and auditory attention in order to complete tasks.

• Chronological age: 6 months to 3 years old • A caregiver is required to accompany the child in the

group session

Objective: The various musical games and activities used during sessions would provide opportunities for our children to develop socialization, communication, self-expression, as well as their sensory-motor skills. Content: Our music therapy sessions allow parents/caretakers to participate in hands-on activities which assist their children with developmental skills, as well as share positive experiences with them through interactive play. Known song materials, singing, movement to music, relaxation and instrumental play etc are all incorporated into the session plan. Note: An adult is required to attend with the child.

Cancellation due to weather conditions (e.g. typhoon No. 3 or 8 and Red/Black Storm Warning),

session will be made up or refunded. 若因天氣緣故取消課堂 (例如 :3 或 8 號颱風、紅色

或黑色暴雨 )，將獲補堂或退款

Remarks :

• To register, please fill in the reply slip and return /fax to Clara Foo, our

Jordan centre social worker ( Tel: 2377 9666 / Fax: 2377 9066). First come

first served

• In order to make sure the application has been received, please return the reply

slip to the Jordan centre for courses at the Jordan centre.

• Parents will receive a confirmation email together with an invoice for the

successful enrollment.

• Please submit the fees by crossed cheque payable to “Watchdog Ltd” to Ms.

Carol Poon, our teaching assistant within 7 days upon confirmation.

• After 7 days if no payment received, your place will be given to the others on the

waiting list.

• All fees are non- refundable. • Priority will be given to those who have signed up for all sessions(groups)

• *Regular Watchdog students will have priority for the programme.

• ***All refunds will be given after completion of the summer programme.
