1990-91 PRESIDENT'S TROPHY SUMMARY / STANDINGSCENTRE WINS SECOND CONSECUTIVE PRESIDENT'S TROPHY Centre wrapped up its second consecutive CAC President's Trophy, despite no team titles at the 1991 Spring Sports Festival at Rhodes in Memphis, Tenn. The Colonels are just the second team in CAC history and first since Sewanee split the all-sports title with Rose-Hulman in 1975-76 to take home the bell after no championships in spring sports. However, Centre had built its commanding lead after shared titles in football and basketball and an outright championship in soccer. And the Colonels finished second in tennis and track and tied for second in baseball at the festival - more than enough to hold off second-place Rhodes. This would be the last year of the old six-team CAC as the league reorganized at the end of 1991, added Oglethorpe University (and Hendrix College the following year), introduced women's athletics into the conference and re-named itself the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

1996-97 PRESIDENT'S TROPHY SUMMARY / STANDINGSTRINITY UNIVERSITY WINS ITS FOURTH STRAIGHT PRESIDENT'S TROPHYBy the second-largest margin in conference history, Trinity University defeated Rhodes College by 72.5 points to capture its fourth consecutive all-sports title at the 1997 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Spring Sports Festival held at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. It could be argued, however, that the real "winner" of the week-end was the weather as all events were effected by the inclement conditions. Men's and women's golf was completely washed out while baseball was forced into a single-elimination format instead of the usual double-elimination schedule. After being pushed back to Sunday, the championship baseball game was shortened to five innings when rain once again ruined the day. Men's and women's tennis struggled to complete its bracket as the seventh/eighth place match and the fifth/sixth place match were not played. The title match in both the men's and women's bracket was not played due once again to rain and a conflict with prior travel arrangements. Men's and women's track and field was the only sport to com-plete its play, even though it took an extra six hours and several teams had left for the airport before the final events were finished.

But in the events that did survive the deluge of rain, the Tigers won titles in men's and women's track and field and a share of both the men's and women's tennis titles. By winning the all-sports championship, Trinity retains the "President's Trophy", a 300-pound railroad bell donated to the conference by the Norfolk and Western Railroad. The trophy is awarded annually to the school with the best overall sports record.

1998-99 PRESIDENT'S TROPHY SUMMARY / STANDINGSTRINITY UNIVERSITY RALLIES TO WIN ITS SIXTH STRAIGHT PRESIDENT'S TROPHYLast season, Trinity University won the all-sports trophy by the largest margin in conference history. Things were much more difficult for the Tigers during the 1998-1999 campaign, as Trinity needed all six of the championships it won on Saturday to defeat DePauw University by 17.5 points and capture the school's sixth consecutive all-sports title at the 1999 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Spring Sports Festival held at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. The Tigers won titles in men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track, baseball and softball over the weekend, adding to its titles in women's soccer, football, volleyball and men's swimming and diving.

Trinity finished the academic year with 10 of the conference's 18 championships. The state of Indiana claimed four of the other eight championships as newcomer DePauw won titles in men's golf, women's cross country and women's basketball, while Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, returning to the conference after leaving following the 1988-89 season, claimed the men's basketball crown. Rhodes College won championships in men's soccer and men's cross country, Southwestern University claimed the women's golf title and the University of the South-Sewanee won the inaugural women's swimming and diving championship. By winning the all-sports championship, Trinity retains the "President's Trophy," a 300-pound railroad bell donated to the con-ference by the Norfolk and Western Railroad. The trophy is awarded annually to the school with the best overall sports record.

1999-2000 PRESIDENT'S TROPHY SUMMARY / STANDINGSLUCKY SEVEN FOR THE TIGERS; TRINITY UNIVERSITY WINS 2000 PRESIDENT'S TROPHYFor the second consecutive year, the race for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) President's Trophy came down to a battle of the Tigers - DePauw University and Trinity University. Last season, DePauw held the lead heading into the Spring Sports Festival only to see Trinity rally with six team championships on the final day to take the Trophy. This year at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn., the battle wasn't quite as climatic as Trinity clinched its seventh-consecutive all-sports title with Sunday's softball championship and added titles in men's and women's tennis later in the day to complete the title run.

Trinity finished the academic year with eight of the conference's 18 championships. In addition to those championships won this past weekend, the Tigers claimed conference titles in men's soccer, football, men's basketball, volleyball and women's swimming. DePauw won championships in men's swimming, women's soccer, and men's and women's track and field. Rhodes College won championships in men's and women's cross country and women's golf. Southwestern University claimed the baseball title and Oglethorpe University won the men's golf championship. DePauw and Hendrix College shared the women's basketball crown.

By winning the all-sports championship, Trinity retains the "President's Trophy," a 300-pound railroad bell donated to the conference by the Norfolk and Western Railroad. The trophy is awarded annually to the school with the best overall sports record. Trinity is now just three all-sports championships behind the all-time CAC/SCAC record of 10 held by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. The Engineers won back-to-back championships in 1974-75 and 1975-76, three in a row from 1980-81 - 1982-83 and five consecu-tive times from 1984-85 - 1988-89. No one has won more consecutive titles than the Tigers and their current streak of seven.

DEPAUW UNIVERSITY WINS 2000-01 PRESIDENT'S TROPHY; TRINITY'S STREAK BROKEN AT SEVENJust as it had every year since 1994, Trinity University shipped the 300-pound railroad bell, which represents the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Sports Trophy, to the site of the SCAC Spring Sports Festival. Then, after taking another all-sports championship, the Tigers would bring the "Bell" back home to San Antonio.

However, when Trinity shipped the bell to Greencastle, Ind., for the 2001 Spring Sports Festival, this time it was just a one-way trip.

The host school, DePauw University, held a 55-point lead heading into the spring season and maintained that margin over the four-day festival to earn its first SCAC all-sports championship since joining the league three years ago, while snapping the TU Tigers' seven-year stranglehold on the Bell.

DePauw finished with the single-highest all-sports trophy point total in league history, finishing with 800 total points. The DU Tigers won championships in baseball and men's and women's track and field over the weekend, adding to its titles in men's and women's cross country, +football and *women's basket-ball. DePauw was consistent all season, as no single team finished worse than fourth in any sport.

Trinity, which finished with 745 total points, added titles in men's and women's tennis and softball at the Spring Sports Festival to go along with champion-ships in men's and women's soccer, volleyball, +football and men's and women's swimming.

Completing the festival title wrap-up, Oglethorpe University and Rhodes College both defended their men's and women's golf titles respectively. Rounding out the 2000-01 season, University of the South-Sewanee won two championships (+football and *women's basketball) while Centre College (*women's basketball), Millsaps College (#men's basketball) and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (#men's basketball) claimed one conference titleeach.
