TRANSCRIPT
“With a heart full of love and gratitude for
what our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, has
done in my life, I offer this gift to His honor
and glory.” Anne B. Warren
In 1983, Dr. and Mrs. Albert Samuel Warren,
III, graciously endowed Second Presbyterian
Church with support for a lecture series in
memory and honor of her family members.
The Pace-Warren Lecture Series has brought
some of the finest and most noted religious
speakers of our time to Lexington for a
special weekend of sermons and talks to be
shared with our congregation and
community.
We have been richly blessed by Anne’s
special gift to us and eagerly anticipate this
year’s speaker who will join our list of
illustrious speakers from the past.

Amos Disasa was born in
Ethiopia. In 1983 his
family (father, mother,
and three-year old Amos)
made its way to the
United States. The place
they first called home in
this country was
downtown Columbia, S.C.
Thirty-years later, Amos is
downtown again as the
organizing pastor of

service in 2012 and chartered in 2014.
Before he began this most recent phase of his ministry,
from 2006-2011 Amos was associate pastor at
Eastminster Presbyterian Church, also in Columbia.
From 2001 to 2002 he worked for Hope Unlimited for
Children, in Brazil. Amos's academic prepara9on
includes earning a Bachelor of Arts in 2001 from
Presbyterian College, Clinton, S.C., and a Master of
Divinity in 2006 from Wake Forest University, Wake
Forest, N.C.
Amos and his brothers own a coffee company called
Disasa Buna. They roast Sidamo beans from the Wallega
region of Ethiopia and sell direct to coffee snobs all over
the country. When he’s outdoors, Amos is either
running or riding one of his bikes. Amos is ac9ve in the
local community through various organiza9ons. He is
also a member of the Board of Trustees at Louisville
Seminary, KY.
Amos’s notable invita9ons as a preacher include the
Montreat Summer Worship Series in 2011 and 2017,
the NEXT conference, FiAh Avenue Presbyterian Church
in New York, 2015 Montreat College Conference, 2013
Montreat Youth Conference, and Day 1.
Amos is married to Sarah Jones Disasa, a speech
