We have navigated the twists and turns by keeping our vision aligned with our Strategic Plan. We continue our 100+ year mission of strengthening the emotional and social well-being of individuals and families through affordable mental health counseling and social service programs. The 2016 Annual Report is an opportunity to share with our supporters a few highlights of the past year and to offer a glimpse of our anticipated goals for 2017! NFSB’s diverse list of services and programs places the organization in a unique position to impact the community on multiple levels. As our local community evolves, NFSB is committed to remaining responsive to its present needs and to preparing to meet the community’s future challenges. My first full year with NFSB has been an exciting one, not only for me as the new Executive Director, but also for the staff, Board members and volunteers. Nutley Food Pantry: Final purchase of 169 Chestnut St. Food Pantry reopened in January, 2016 Expansion from 35 households after relaunch to 80 in December Proud partner agency with Community Food Bank of New Jersey Recipient of 2016 Scouting for Hunger Donation Drive Sharing 80 holiday meals for the 2016 Thanksgiving Initiative Edible Education community outreach series sponsored by ShopRite of Nutley-Belleville Growing list of individual, group and corporate food donors Psychotherapy and counseling: Growing number of clients: increase of average active cases (25%, 369/month) and new clients (35%, 443/year). Cases include adults, children, couples and families Expanding insurance panels (26) which include Medicare and Medicaid New adjusted fee schedule Free Group Therapy sessions, including Women’s and Men’s Groups Free Workshop sessions for children, teens and seniors Free Case-management services Growing graduate and undergraduate internship programs
