in companies posting opportunities at Kelley
and the use of virtual recruiting.
We welcomed many new companies to campus
this year, including:
Chapman and Cutler
Lockheed Martin
Mead Johnson
Oracle America
We continue to work closely with employers,
providing excellent customer service and conducting
strategy calls with our top companies to ensure their
recruiting needs are met. Companies appreciate our
consultative approach in helping improve their
experience throughout the year.
Job Postings: The number of companies
posting jobs with us this year increased by 15%,
an outgrowth of our continued new employer
development including specific efforts to cultivate
125 new Indiana companies.
A few new job posting companies this year included
20th
Century Fox, Bath & Body Works, Starbucks,
The Kroger Company, and The Wendy’s Company.
Corporate Outreach: As the year began, our new business development goal was to continue to connect
with new companies, including ten that would consider our growing population of international students.
During 2015-16, we made over 100 connections, resulting in 99 new companies posting jobs, attending
career fairs, recruiting on campus or hosting students, and 19 new companies considering international
students.
We also focused on more collaborative initiatives within Kelley as well as other career service offices,
which included co-sponsoring the first HireBig10+ consortium networking reception in Chicago that
attracted over 40 new companies. We also made joint outreach trips to New York and California with

Recruiter Evaluations
Bloomberg Businessweek for 2016
ranked Kelley #1 among public
universities by employers and
students. Every year since
Bloomberg Businessweek began
ranking undergraduate business
programs, career services at Kelley
have achieved an “A+” grade.
This is consistent with the recruiter
evaluations gathered from our own
surveys, where comments refer to
our staff as “attentive, helpful and
friendly.”
On a scale of 5.0 (excellent) the staff was rated 4.91. Our “net promoter” score was 86.35, as many would
recommend our organization to others. This score rose by 9% this year.
Networking Initiatives
Career Fairs: We offered three career fairs in the fall: Finance/Accounting, Consulting/IS/Supply Chain,
Marketing/Management, as well as an “All Business” fair in the spring. A total of 250 companies attended
these events with approximately 4,700 student attendees, an increase of 17% in student attendance over last
year. We hosted our first ever International Student Mini Career Fair with 12 companies and 130 student
attendees and participated in a virtual career fair managed by members of the HireBig10+ consortium. In
collaboration with five other universities, our Chinese students had access to another virtual career fair
featuring over 60 participating companies.
Job Shadow Program: A total of 172 students were selected to participate in the one-day job shadow
program (primary target is sophomores, although some freshmen also participate). Both participating
students and employers rated the program a success. The program took place during Winter Break and
Spring Break and involved 28 companies participating at various locations nationwide.
Presentations: There were 312 company
presentations/events held on campus this year.
These included information sessions, pre-nights,
office hours, and other events hosted by
employers visiting campus.
Students Served
A total of 7,084 students had an account in Kelley
Connect, our online career services system from

on the IUB campus. In total, the percentage of
Kelley students served rose 10% over last year.

Student Services Highlights
Launched new Kelley Connect home page in August 2015, providing a one-stop, mobile-friendly
portal for students to access information about featured jobs and events and career resources. This
resource allows UCSO staff to effectively communicate information to students in a user-friendly
manner. Over 5,100 students have subscribed to receive a weekly email newsletter.
Developed new resume review and feedback event (Resume Review Madness) with over
280 students participating to have their resumes reviewed.
Offered a new half-day career program called “Career Burst” Training, a series of short career
workshops that give students relevant career information in preparation for the recruiting season.
Organized “Freshmen & Sophomores Only Employer Meet & Greet” held before the Spring 2016
All Business Career Fair to introduce underclassmen to career fairs and help them network with
potential employers and industry professionals. In total, 175 freshmen and sophomores participated.
Coordinated and participated in the Women in Finance & Accounting Week, including a panel
session and networking brunch in support of the Kelley School Women’s initiative.
Partnered with Fragomen Worldwide (an immigration law firm), Office of International Services
and other IUB career services offices to provide an IU-wide information session (video) on
overcoming H1B hurdles and exploring post-graduation options for international students.
Over 110 students participated.
Provided “After Study Abroad – From Kelley Passport to Career Services” program in partnership
with the Kelley Study Abroad office to help students leverage their global experience and cross-
cultural insight in their job and internship searches.

connect with new employers. Trip locations included Los Angeles (entertainment industry) with
17 student participants, New York City (sports/media industry) with 8 students, and Chicago
(advertising industry) with 15 student participants.
New Staff and Other Recognition
We received the 2016 “Exemplary Career Services” Award from the National Career Development
Association (NCDA). We hired Carol Maldonado as an accounting coach and to provide support for the
Help Desk, providing enhanced delivery of front-line customer service to UCSO constituents and guests.
We hired Brian Smith as a consulting coach to serve this growing area of interest and to meet increased
employer demand. Thao Nelson, Susie Clarke, and Debbie Morris presented on management and
collaboration best practices at the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) 2016 annual
conference, attended by over 2300 university career services staff and corporate employers.
Looking Forward
Key initiatives for UCSO are to continue the positive customer experience, leverage technology to enhance
engagement with students and employers, and create more opportunities for student internships and full-
time jobs.
