2016-17 STUDENT BIBLE STUDY ROOTS Student Basics The Ultimate Superhero Students will comprehend that Jesus died on the cross for their sin, rose from the grave, and offers salvation to all who believe. Life-Changing Habit Students will learn how to develop a daily habit of time in God’s Word (Quiet Time). Tell It Like It Is! Students will gain confidence and be prepared to share their testimonies as opportunities arise. Your Spiritual Life Coach Students will desire to use the Creative Discipleship program to help them grow in their walk with God. Bring Out the Big Guns Students will understand the necessity of having Scripture committed to memory so they can resist sin when temptation comes. Good Intentions to Great Results Students will learn how spiritual growth can come from being transparent with other believers and begin an accountability relationship with another Christian. BLUEPRINT Man Trust the One Who Made You Students will gain confidence in what the Bible teaches about creation. Distortion or Reflection Students will understand that they can only find their true identity when they understand and live in light of the fact that they are an image-bearer of God. God Created Me as Me Young men will understand and embrace that God created them uniquely and wonderfully as men. Young women will see what a Biblical man is. Live Like You’re Loved Students will replace the lies of the world about femininity with the truth that, in Christ, they are loved and accepted. SUPERNATURAL Holy Spirit Personal Transformation Students will learn key attributes of the Holy Spirit and how these bring great benefit to their lives. Outside Inside or Inside Out Students will grasp how living under the control of the Holy Spirit each day provides the power to see lasting, real change in their lives. Pay Attention to the Tension Students will realize that the Holy Spirit brings conviction and commit to take action on areas the Holy Spirit reveals to them. Know Him and No Fear Students will understand that the Holy Spirit empowers them to share the Gospel message and be encouraged to overcome their fear of witnessing by relying on the Holy Spirit. I’M IN The Church I Identify Students will discover the importance of identification with Christ through water baptism and be encouraged to be baptized if they have not been. A Bond with Great Benefit Students will realize the great benefit of bonding with a local body of believers through church membership and be encouraged to take steps to join a local church. Celebration Time Students will be taught that Communion is a celebration to remember the death of Christ for the sins of man and be encouraged to participate as a believer. Tell the Story Students will see God’s master plan to reach the nations and be challenged to make proclaiming God’s glory to the nations a priority in their lives. The Student Ministries curriculum provides engaging lessons that will equip students to obey the truth of God’s Word out of love for Christ. Each lesson brings students to a point of decision and clearly connects the truth to each student’s life. There are 8 major topics of study: • Spiritual Disciplines (5) – Quiet Time, Bible Study, Evangelism, Accountability, and Serving • Theology – major doctrines of the Christian faith to give students a solid biblical foundation. • Book Studies – one Old Testament and New Testament book each year. • Apologetics – lessons that present a rational basis for the Christian faith. • Topical – current and hot cultural topics that students are facing. • Story of the Bible – shows Jesus as the focus of the biblical narrative from beginning to end. • Character Studies – minor Bible characters as examples, good or bad, to teach life lessons. • Life Change Passages – key passages that apply to every Christian’s life. • Video Series – (Answers in Genesis) Demolishing Strongholds

Don’t Wait Till It’s Too Late (Philip) Students will realize the importance of being obedient to the Holy Spirit as He opens doors to share Jesus with others.

No Duel for Rule (Matthew 6:33) Students will choose, above all else, to establish God’s rule over them and surrender their lives to do what He requires.

Grace that Saves and Works (Ephesians 2:8-9) Students will see that the same grace that saved them is the same grace that pushes them to do good work.

Caught in Friendly Fire Students will learn the qualities of a good friend and seek to be this kind of friend to others.

Never a Bad Plan Students will be taught that asking God questions is OK and will learn that God is bigger than every trial or circumstance and thereby learn to trust Him.

Hope in Suffering Students will internalize that as they begin to trust God in their circumstances, they will reap the ultimate reward of a deeper relationship with Him.

Completely Righteous Students will understand that they do not need to work to be righteous before God, because it has been accomplished by Christ. Consequently, they will desire to know Christ deeper every day.

Big, Bigger, and Really Big Students will be shown that creation is clearly a designed masterpiece, designed by an awesome designer.

The Mystery Revealed Students will learn that the existence of the constant, absolute laws of nature point to the existence of a universal law maker, God.

The Source of Love Student will realize that the fact that they can love is a compelling reason to believe in the existence of God.

THE STORY Story of the BibleGlory Given Students will understand that God created them to reflect His glory and be challenged to do this daily.

Glory Stolen Students will see the consequences of choosing pride and take active steps to replace pride by cultivating humility.

Glorious Grace Students will be in awe that God uses the most unlikely people and plans to accomplish His purposes, bringing Himself glory.

Glorious Hope Students will look forward to a future glory with God and put the passing pleasures of this life in proper perspective.
