Why not leave Shakespeare for the AP class down the hall?Because we all need language to help shape our experiences in the world. AND, Shakespeare in the general high school classroom can be accessible, achievable—and fun.
Give us 30 hours, and it just may change your classroom—and your students—for life.
Participants will be introduced to a range of skills used by theater artists to break open Shakespeare’s text and engage with it actively and creatively (aligned to Common Core State Standards and the CPS Framework for Teaching). Together, we will explore the implications for crossover into classroom reading strategies—in Shakespeare and beyond.
