2015 -“The Year of Stewardship”“Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.“ I Peter 4:9-10
Welcome to this New Year! We have dedicated the 365 days of 2015 to an acute awareness and practice of Stewardship. Christian Care Centers is blessed to have been a part of lives for 68 years serving your family members, your friends and the
communities to which we belong. In that commission we will continue to strive to meet and hopefully exceed your expectations by paying special attention to the things described by Mr. Webster in his definition of Stewardship: “the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one’s care.”
Christian Care Centers is focused on fulfilling our ministry through responsible management of the day-to-day operations. These efforts ultimately provide care and services to our residents, quality employment opportunities for our staff, and a proven service environment for our families to trust. This endeavor is achieved through the dedicated staff that has chosen to be part of our ministry and demonstrate that dedication each day as they provide marketing, nursing, laundry, housekeeping, administrative, physical plant maintenance, and corporate oversight. Together we have built a culture of care and compassion laced with the strong sense of community bound by a loving culture enhanced by God’s grace.
We are focused on sustainability in strengthening our current operations through technology, training and overall accountability for the good will of the residents that we serve. The

consistent quest for excellence by holding dearly to our core values while understanding the ever-changing face of long-term care. Our vision is fixed on the future of Christian Care Centers which will be tied directly to the actions of today and altered by accurate forecasts of changing patterns relevant to successful organizations of the future.
Our ministry is focused on faith and believing strongly in things yet unseen. Our discussions are built around trends and evidence-based data that help guide our day-to-day decisions. Ones that keep Christian Care Centers grounded in the present, trusting our previous path and strategically looking for the indicators that will show us the next step toward sustainability.
Thank you for always being there for us! Thank you to our Board of Directors for wisdom, trust and accountability. Thank you to the family members who entrust their loved-ones to an established ministry believing that we will be effective ministers on their behalf. Thank you to our outstanding staff that, each day, bring their personalized strengths and abilities to this ministry providing loving care and compassion to our precious residents. And last but not least, thank you God for blessing this ministry for 68 years and for the promise of tomorrow through Your saving grace!
Blessings,
Phil ElmorePresident/CEO

The smack of baseballs in mitts, the growl of lawnmowers, the giggles of children on swing sets – those are not the only sounds of springtime. At Christian Care Senior Living Communities, one could add the pounding of nails, whine of electric saws, and the cacophony of skilled workmen using their gifts.
Because of you, our beloved friends and donors, there are a myriad of renovation approaches in progress on both our Mesquite and Fort Worth campuses!
As legendary TV newsman Tom Brokaw said, “It is easy to make a buck. It is a lot tougher to make a difference.”Your generosity is making a HUGE difference in the lives of our residents.

It’s always interesting to see who you will meet in the halls at Christian Care Senior Living Communities. Recently, two sweet ladies were introduced and found out they had something big in common. John Losher, retired CEO of Christian Care Centers, and his wife Karen moved her mother, Nila Towler, into the Health Care Center around Christmas. Since moving in, Mrs. Towler met Mrs. Freda Field and what fun they have had! They discovered that Mrs. Field’s husband, Boyd, helped build the Towler’s house in Baird. Mrs. Towler said she never did meet Boyd’s wife, but he sure did great work.
These ladies do a lot together. They sit by each other at church, eat together every meal and see each other every day except Saturday. Saturday is reserved strictly for family. And what a family both of these ladies have! Mrs. Field and her husband adopted five children and have numerous grandchildren and greats! Mrs. Towler also has a big family. Her two grandchildren who live in the Dallas area bring her five great grandchildren by frequently to visit.
Personality is part of these ladies charm. Mrs. Towler leaned over to me and said, “Ask Freda how old she is.” I turned to Mrs. Field and said, “How old are you?” She said, “On my next birthday I’ll be two hundred years old.” I knew something was up when I heard them both giggle. Mrs. Towler said, “Go on and tell her how old you really are…” To which Mrs. Field replied, “I was born in September of 1919, so 95.”
Stewardship is the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one’s care. For these two ladies, stewardship is a key factor in how their lives are linked together. The Towler family entrusted their home to Mr. Field. Now what he did over 30 years ago is coming back full circle with the friendship shared by these two ladies. Mrs. Towler said, “God finally introduced us after all these years!”
After many years, Mrs. Field (left)and Mrs. Towler (right) finally connect at the Health Care Center in Mesquite.
