ACTIVITY HIGHLIGHTS 1. Calgary Training: Designing for
Tomorrow. 632 participants. 40 hours of practitioner training. Two erosion and sediment control certification exams (CPESC, CISEC). Four primary guest speakers, 10 City of Calgary speakers; 2 industry speakers.
2. Edmonton Training: Certified Inspector in Sediment and Erosion Control (2-day course and exam).
3. Lunch and Learn: Lessons Learned from Stormcon Three speakers, 80 participants.
4. Calgary Site tour 64 participants. Currie Barracks multi-family infiltration trench; Lakeview treatment wetlands; Lincoln Park, Carburn Park, Bridgeland and Deerfoot Park bioretention; Remington Green Roof.
5. Illustrated LID Guide ‘Clean Runoff Action Guide’: Steward Visioning Workshop (EDM). 20 participants.
6. Street 2 Stream: Joint riparian and upland ½-day awareness workshops in Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Red Deer and Wetaskiwin. 200+ participants
7. Street 2 Stream: Inglewood residential rain garden and riparian restoration demonstration installation blitz. 20 volunteers (CGY)
8. Street 2 Stream: draft videos of five sites: Alastair Ross Green Roof (CGY); Jacobs HQ swale (CGY); The Quarters Silva Cells (EDM); residential landscaping (LETH); Winston Heights bioretention (CGY)
9. Lessons Learned about Bioretention in the Calgary area. UDI Lethbridge extended luncheon. 40+ participants. 4 speakers.
