EA Championships – 2 tests at level is $110

EA competitions is $55 per test (e.g. If you enter competition 5 and 6, which comprises 3 tests the cost is $180) Note: Championship levels – riders are required to enter both tests

FEI competition is $70 per test. A non-refundable administration fee of $30 per horse

A Freestyle bond of $100 is payable with entries & will be refunded once the combination competes

The Organising Committee (OC) reserves the right to adjust prize money if less than 6 horse and rider combinations compete at the event.

DETAILS OF COMPETITIONS Entries and the competition program may be limited and revised at the discretion of the Organising Committee. COMPETITIONS 1 to 5 (EA Preliminary to Advanced) Limit on entry numbers: 35 Horses (*The OC will consider allowing a maximum of 35 entries depending on entries and time constraints) – a reserve list will be created if entries exceed 35 Champions to be decided on point system of both competitions at each level. Refer Rule 8.9 EA Dressage Rule Book Eligibility: Refer pages 4, 5 & 9 COMPETITIONS 13 and 14: EA Medium and Advanced Freestyles for horses Open to horses/riders who have qualified/been accepted for the Medium and Advanced competitions. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY The 2015 Qld State Dressage Championships will be conducted in strict accordance with the current edition (including amendments) of:

EA Dressage Rules & Official Procedures for Dressage Competition as at 1/2/15 (and subsequent amendments), EA General Regulations;

Current FEI Statutes, General Regulations; FEI Veterinary Regulations; FEI Dressage Rules The EA Dressage Rules & Dressage tests may be downloaded from the EA web site: www.equestrian.org.au Competitors are advised to be aware of the Rules, refer to Section 8 of the current EA dressage rule book for rules relating to the conduct of State Championships. The onus is on riders to know the rules under which they compete.

MEMBERSHIP & HORSE REGISTRATION

Horses must have a current performance card; horses, owners and riders must be registered and financial with EA

Horses must compete under their full registered name. The Organising Committee has the right to abbreviate a horse names for printing purposes. EA Membership numbers must be shown on the Entry Form

All horses are required to be micro chipped as per national rules

ENTRIES & ELIGIBILITY

Only two horses per rider may be entered per Championship.

Ponies are not eligible to enter these Championships as the Qld Pony Dressage Championships will be held by Toowoomba Dressage on 17th & 18th October 2015

AOR riders are eligible to enter these championships but no separate AOR placings or Champions will be awarded as the AOR riders have their own Championships on 13th September 2015 held by Caboolture Dressage Group

All horses must be EA registered, including AOR horses

No horse/s will be substituted after the close of entries

Horses must exceed 149 cm with shoes or 148cm without shoes

No horse may take part with more than one rider at the event

Horses – Riders are eligible from the start of the calendar year in which they turn 12 years of age

Horses may compete in two (2) consecutive levels only. For example, Nov/Elem; Adv/Prix St Georges etc. Each horse entered must have the same rider as nominated on the entry form for all competitions

Para Equestrian riders may compete in either the EA/FEI (i.e. PSG, Inter I) tests, and/or the PE FEI tests (i.e. Grade II, III or IV). Any Para Equestrian rider electing to compete in the EA/FEI tests will be subject to the same qualification criteria as all other competitors. There will be no separate placings/prizes for Para Equestrian combinations that may place in EA/FEI (i.e. PSG, Inter I) tests. All Para Equestrian riders’ exemption cards (copy) must be provided at time of entry

Championship – riders must enter the Championship e.g. both competitions at one level, not individual competitions except for FEI competitions

Competitions 1 to 5 and 13 and 14 (EA levels) are open to horses that, at close of entries, have gained less than the following grading points: Preliminary: less than 30 points at Novice level or above; Novice: less than 30 points at Elementary level or above; Elementary: less than 30 points at Medium level or above; Medium: less than 30 points at Advanced level or above; Advanced: less than 30 points in FEI

competitions. Horses entered in any FEI competition must have performance at the level entered (refer performance). Refer rule 1.15

Up to three performances at the entered level are to be submitted. Refer rule 8.2 and note that balloting will take place with three performances taking precedence over two performances, etc. Proof of performances must be provided with entries.

Official Grading: This will be taken as at the closing date of entries. Refer EA dressage rule 1.14 for grading eligibility.

Draw: Competitions (excluding Freestyles) will be limited to 35. A reserve list will be issue

The organising committee reserves the right to rank/ballot horses

A revised draw may be necessary the day before each competition to allow for withdrawals. The starting times for each rider will remain constant as far as possible with any reserve riders being placed in the times allocated to the withdrawn horse. In the event of significant change, the organising committee reserves the right to alter starting times. The onus is on the competitor to confirm/check their start times the day before the competition

Revised draw will be posted in the stable block and will be available at the Indoor for competitions held indoors or with the Gear Steward in the outdoor arenas

Hors Concours (HC) entries will not be accepted

PERFORMANCE

At least one qualifying score MUST have been obtained by the nominated horse/rider combination Refer Rule 8.2

Performance Eligibility: All entries for EA and FEI competitions must be qualified by having gained at least the following performance in Official Competitive competitions and will only be accepted for REGISTERED horses that have been allocated a current EA number and bridle number at the time qualifying scores were obtained and at the level they are entering during the 12 month period preceding the closing date i.e. 1st July 2014 to 30th June 2015

(One H/C score from an Official competition may be used as a qualification) o Preliminary and Novice: three (3) performances of 64% or higher; o Elementary, Medium and Advanced: three (3) performances of 60% or higher; o PSG & Inter I: three (3) performances of 60% or higher; o Intermediate A & Intermediate B: two (2) performances of 60% or higher; o Inter II and GP: two (2) performance of 60% or higher

All combinations must submit their best three performances in a Competitive competition at the appropriate level, in the 12-month period preceding the closing date for entries, from 1st July 2014 to 30th June 2015. See above re minimum performance requirement. Participation, Eventing, PCAQ, Interschool, Restricted/Club, Freestyle, Young Horse results are not eligible qualifiers scores

Ranking (balloting) will be based on the average of the highest percentages of three tests at the particular level, in the 12 months preceding the close of entries. Riders who submit 3 performances will be considered ahead of those who submit two performances who will be considered ahead of those that submit one performance

The OC reserves the right to accept and/or reject entries

WITHDRAWALS & REFUNDS

Entry refunds – as per rule 1.10 of the rule book – 50% of the entry fee will be refunded on receipt of a doctor’s or vet’s official certificate submitted to: Event Director, [email protected], within 24 hours of the completion of the event, providing the horse is officially withdrawn no later than 24 hours before the start of the event i.e. Wednesday 12th August 2015. A Doctor’s or Vet’s official certificate must be submitted prior to the start of the first day competition for horses withdrawn prior to the start of the Event.

Cancellation - In the event that the event and/or competition/s are cancelled 50% of entry fees will be refunded

Change of Nomination - Riders wishing to change their nomination (after the close of entries) incur an administration fee of $50

Withdrawals (Rule 8.4): No competitor shall withdraw from a competition within 8 hours of the start of the competition without the permission of the Organising Committee. A written statement giving reasons for the withdrawal must be handed to the Event Director prior to the commencement of the competition.

Scratchings -. Because of the reserve lists and possible distances to be travelled by reserve list riders, all riders are asked to consider their fellow competitors and notify the Event Director/TD as soon as possible of their intention to withdraw. If a rider does not wish to remain on the reserve list, they must scratch from the event or entry fees will not be refunded if a place in the competition is offered but not taken up

There is NO REFUND of the Administration Fee

OBJECTIONS & APPEALS Objections and Appeals: Objections must be in writing and accompanied by a fee of $150.00. Attention is drawn to Rule 1.5 of EA Dressage Rules

SADDLERY & EQUIPMENT

Bridle numbers (two), one on each side of the horse, must be worn at all times when the horse is outside its stable either being led or under saddle

Whips are not allowed at FEI level. EA levels (Prelim to Adv) - whips are permitted but must not exceed 1.2m in its entirety. (Rule 2.6).

Hats and head wear: As per current EA rules (Rule 2.2).

Sponsorship logos - Riders with privately organised sponsorship may display a "logo" of their sponsor on their saddlecloth. The area covered by this logo may not exceed 200 sq. cm. Logos may also be shown on the jacket and may not to exceed 80 sq cm and must be above the line of the pocket. Please note that if more than one sponsor logo is placed on the saddlecloth or coat, the area covered by all logos must not exceed 200 sq. cm/80 sq cm as above. Refer to EA General Regulation Article 135 for full details

FREESTYLES – Refer to Section 6 of the rule book

Only the movements up to and included in the current tests at the level being ridden may be shown

Music must be supplied on a good quality not-scratched CD or iPhone or iPod with any relevant instructions attached in writing. Please clearly mark horse and rider name on CD/iPhone/iPod. We recommend that you have a backup master CD/iPhone/iPod with you

Freestyle Music to be handed in to the Event Office as soon as possible after your arrival and well before music testing. There will be a timetable for Freestyle music testing

Equality of scores: if two competitors receive the same final score, the one with the highest marks for artistic presentation is the winner

Medium and Advanced freestyle competitions will be kept to a max of 10 combinations depending on available time. The highest entry qualifiers will be offered a start and the remaining combinations will be listed in qualifying order on a reserve list

Bond – A bond of $100 for competitors who nominate to ride in the freestyles is payable at time of nomination. This bond is fully refundable upon completion of your freestyle ride and after the conclusion of the event

Declaration of Starters – All riders taking part in the Inter I and Grand Prix Freestyles must declare their intention to ride by 10am Friday 14th August 2015 at the Event Office. Failure to do so will result in a non-start in the competition and forfeiture of your freestyle bond.

The timed draw for the Freestyles will be published following the declarations at 10am Friday.

CAMPING & CATERING

Camping facilities: Powered and Unpowered sites are available and must be booked at time of entry. Cost is $25 per night for all sites. These sites will be allocated. There are good shower and toilet facilities for males and females with hot and cold water. Preferred sites (e.g. nearest the stables) will be allocated firstly to competitors staying for longer periods

Catering: will be available throughout the weekend

STABLING

Owners/riders who have booked stables for more than one day but are taking their horses home at night must advise the stable manager

All stallions must be stabled

All stabling will be allocated

Stable bookings must be made at the time of nomination. Stable fees $25 per day, plus $75 stable bond which will be fully refunded after the event if the stable is left clean, tidy & undamaged. All stables/yards must be inspected prior to departure by the Stable Manager for a “clean pass”

Yards – there will be limited yards available at the QSEC Outdoor Arena Complex. These must be booked at the time of nomination and cost $10 per day & must be left clean at the end of each day of the event

All horses MUST be stabled, except those combinations competing and parking for the day at the QSEC Outdoor Arena Complex

All stables will be empty on arrival and must be completely cleaned out on departure. Please note any special requests for stabling near other horses/riders on the entry form

Not all requests will be possible

All competitors must complete a “Horse Health Declaration Form” and hand it in upon arrival or before competing in any competitions at the event. A copy of this form can be f o u n d h e r e http://www.qsec.com.au/Biosecurity/

Bedding (shavings) are provided and included in the cost of stabling

No temporary yards of any kind are allowed

Please note: Charges for stable hire at QSEC apply to use of stables per day not per night, e.g. from midnight to midnight. If you arrive before lunch on day 1 and leave after lunch the following day, this is classed as 2 days. Please take this into account when booking stables

Fodder: Competitors must supply their own horse feed

Arrival of Horses: The Stable Manager, Cheryl Stephen mobile 0400 767 858, will be on site from midday Wednesday 12th August, 2015 until Saturday 15th August, 2015. Please advise your arrival time when you enter. Exception for day parkers competing at the QSEC Outdoor Arena Complex and those who have an early draw

SMOKING is not permitted in the stable area!

QSEC is a GLASS FREE ENVIRONMENT!

Dogs, prams, bicycles, scooters and golf buggies, etc., are not permitted in the immediate stable area/aisles! (Exceptions - vehicles used by Stable Manager, Stewards and venue staff and mobility devices for P-E riders). Children must be supervised at all times!

As defined in the QSEC Terms and Conditions of Hire, damage will be charged to the Event Organiser, which will in turn be charged to the competitor responsible for the stable/yard during the event. Any damage to stables/yards will be charged to the competitor’s credit card. The OC suggests you take photos or record details of your stable prior to use

OTHER/GENERAL INFORMATION

Callers - Tests may NOT be commanded. P-E riders may have callers as per FEI rules

Random Swabbing will take place at the event. Attention is drawn to FEI Veterinary Rules and the EA Medication Control Policy. Supervision of horses is the sole responsibility of the owner/rider AT ALL TIMES

Tests/rosettes will not be posted out to competitors after the event. CDG will endeavour to hold all non-claimed test sheets and make them available at future CDG events if you are unable to stay to collect them.

Veterinary Services - Veterinary services will be available from Moreton Bay Equine Vets – 0447 202 600

Farrier - Emergency Farrier services will be available by contacting Tom Affleck - 0427 934 420

Lunging is only permitted in the designated areas – this will be monitored

Dogs: Dogs are permitted in QSEC camping grounds provided they are kept on a lead (maximum length of 1 metre) and under control at all times. Dogs must be kept away from horse activities including the Main Arena/warm-up, QSEC Outdoor arenas/warmup and shower/toilet/laundry facilities. Any person not adhering to this guideline will be asked to leave the grounds immediately and no refund given. Please ensure that dog droppings are disposed of using the bags provided. Do not bring dangerous dogs to this event. Moreton Bay Regional Council Animal Control may be conducting random patrols. Dogs found wandering and/or not under effective control may be seized and impounded

Exercise and Warm-up Area: Outdoor warm-up areas will be available for use prior to the competition. More information will be contained in the entry confirmation sent to riders. Only horses saddled and being ridden or lunged are allowed in the warm up area. Horses in halters and/or wearing rugs or being grazed are not permitted in the warm up area during the period of competition each day

Vaccinations: This is not a mandatory Hendra vaccinated event. As per the EQ policy we strongly encourage owners to discuss their situation with their vet and make their own choice on whether to vaccinate against the Hendra Virus or not. We recommend that horse vaccinations for Strangles and Tetanus are up to date. Current vaccinated status will be required with entries.

Property Identification Code: It is compulsory to provide a PIC with your entry

QSEC Policy: Please note QSEC has a no glass policy. Only alcohol purchased at the venue can be consumed at the Indoor complex

Riders’ BBQ and Forum: A Riders Forum will be held on Thursday evening before the rider welcome BBQ. Details will be confirmed. All riders are encouraged to attend. $15 donation to Young Rider Sub-committee for BBQ.

QSEC canteen – may be operating under restricted hours 10am to 2pm

Indemnity: Riders and/or owners whose entries have been accepted, undertake to indemnify the Committee against all claims, losses, suits, and damages made against or suffered by the Committee by reason of any negligent act or omission on the part of any riders, trainers or attendants whilst they are attending, riding or otherwise handling a horse, and agree that any act or omission on the part of such riders or attendants found in any action against the Committee to be negligent, shall be deemed to have been negligent for the purpose of any claim under this indemnity. Riders are required to sign the Declaration form included in the entry section. Neither Caboolture Dressage Group Inc, Dressage Qld, Equestrian Qld, Equestrian Australia, Qld State Equestrian Centre, Moreton Bay Regional Council nor the Organising Committee or their appointed officials accept any liability for any accident, theft or illness to horses, riders, grooms or any person or property whatsoever.

To be eligible for a Champion or Reserve Champion award at any level the Horse must compete in both competitions at that level and gain at least 60% up to and including Advanced or 58% in FEI competitions in each qualifying competition.

FEI Competitions: A horse must compete in both PSG and Intermediate I to be eligible for Small Tour Champion/Reserve, Intermediate A and Intermediate B to be eligible for Medium Tour Champion/Reserve or Intermediate II and Grand Prix to be eligible for the Big Tour Champion/Reserve (Grand Prix Special is a separate competition)

ALL P-E Championship awards (including Prize Money) will only be presented at the OC discretion

ALL FEI Championship awards (including Prize Money) may only be presented if there are at least 5 competing entrants on the day of competition at the relevant level or at the OC discretion

Presentations

All presentations will take place in the presentation zone unless otherwise notified

Details of presentations will be notified in the draw

All riders and horses participating in the presentations are required to attend in formal riding attire

Riders and horses not suitably attired will not be permitted to participate in the formal presentations

Prize collection: The rider or a delegated representative MUST collect all prizes at presentation the day of competition or all their prizes shall be forfeited

NO prizes will be held or posted

Prize money will only be paid by EFT into the nominated bank account following the event and will be processed within approx. 14 days post event. Any outstanding debts will be deducted from prize money. Prize money is awarded to the owners or lessees of horses. Competitors MUST provide Bank Account details so that funds can be transferred into the nominated bank account
