I have had the pleasure of being involved in marketing Mar Mac genetics for several years now. Blair and Lois have deep roots in the purebred beef cattle industry and have raised their children who are now both important players in the operation, solely off agriculture. The Mar Mac operation is diverse in that they raise both Red and Black Angus as well as Simmental cattle. All three groups of breeding females share one thing, they are all based on cow families that have proven themselves worthy to be a part of this program.

Welcome to the highly anticipated Mar Mac bred and heifer sale.If you go through this set of breds you will find consistence, thick, soggy, broody, feminine fronted, future mama cows. With this set of breds you will find females that will be bull makers. The way these bull sales have been going, you will need more cow power to make those front end bulls, so here they are.

Take a look at the next generation. These fancy power houses can offer you a calf to hang a halter on or a bred in the making. This set of calves is right off the top of their keeper pen.

These are the females I walked through with Blair and Lois in August on grass. I am honored and delighted to be involved with Blair and Lois and their family in this fall female sale. I dont accept many offers to be a consultant anymore as Sherry and I have a young and often very energetic family.but Ive always been impressed with the ranch just south of Brandon known by all as Mar Mac.

These folks and I are very similar in nature as far as cattle breeding and management philosophies go!

I truly do respect and admire their program and love for their family and cattle. They believe whole-heartedly in the value of an AI gun and they know how to cull an animal, instead of making excuses for her!!

When I was touring this summer we had the chance to go thru all of the sale cattle. We are excited to offer you some NEW GENERATION genetics from a family program that has been breeding Angus cattle for 60 years and 39 years in the Simmental business. We are proud of what we have accomplished and plan to share the top end genetics with you on December 13th.

For those of you, who do not know us, we are a family run operation who makes their living in Agriculture. Our children, Brett and Melissa are the 5th Generation to be involved on this farm, and the agricultural industry.

This sale offering may be the strongest, most consistent set of females that we have ever raised. They are all very deep bodied and structurally correct. We are offering every bred heifer for sale you are selecting from the entire bred heifer crop. We believe strongly in cow families and you will see that as you go through the catalog, these would not be offered for sale if not for this production sale.

Our cowherd is annually culled on feet and legs, performance and fertility, if they do not measure up they are not kept at the farm. You will note that we are selling Red Angus and Simmental females, due to the smaller number of Black Angus females we are retaining all of them this year.

Angus cattle have been a part of the McRae Family history for 60 years.

In 1983, the Red Angus division was started when Blair and Lois got married. We purchased 3 cows from Wayne Heape and then slowly built our program. One of the first females went on to be the dam of Red McRaes Blazer 336C. We were offered the opportunity to expand the Red Angus program and purchase the Buck Valley Red Angus cowherd. Their outcross genetics have been a strong addition to our cowherd base. Cow families like Frado, Reba, Siera, Lady Trooper, Kerry, Easter, Ruby and more have developed.

Since day one we have worked hard to create a program with calving ease, performance, fertility, new genetics and structural soundness. As we have an annual bull sale these females have to produce bulls that will work in the purebred and commercial sector of the beef industry.

We are proud of our accomplishments in the Angus program; 50 year members of the Canadian Angus Association in 2005 and hosted the 100th Anniversary barbeque at our farm, Lois is past Canadian and Manitoba Director for 12 years, Brett and Melissa were Canadian Angus Junior Board members representing Manitoba, participating in the World Angus Forum in 2009. Melissa was on the winning team at the Youth Competition in New Zealand. Along with many successes in the showring. RED MCRAES FRADO 53JFrado was flushed extensively to a number of Red Angus sires. Probably one of her most noted flushes was to Red

Fine Line Mulberry when we got 17 live calves out of 19 embryos and one of them was Red McRaes Vision 50T. 50T is used every year in the heifer pen as he calves great and yet you still have a stout calf in the fall. 50T was also the

sire of Red McRaes Reba Lee 121W, the Reserve Grand Champion Red Angus female at Agribiton and a class winner at Denver.

Stop the truck, here are two top end individuals that you would put a lot of miles on to get this depth of quality, maternal and paternal in the Red Angus business. We decided not to take

any breds on the show team this year but these two were right on the list if we did. We were

very impressed with the calving ease and stout offspring of Peacemaker so used him heavily in

the heifer pen this year.

109B is a grand daughter of the Frado 53J cow family, one of our foundation females, length, fertility and great mother cow. 109Bs dam is a

young Roughrider female who will be one of our foundation cows in the future; she is just getting started in her motherhood. Our Prowler females

have picture perfect udders.

51B - When Nate Marin called us one September day about purchasing a female at the Brylor sale, our selections were given to him and we ended up with Bonita 65X. She is a picture perfect profile female with lots of milk and has produced sons that are working in herds in Manitoba. This is her first female so that is why we are only offering choice in these two amazing bred heifers. This female

as a correct as they come and will benefit any program. Ribeye, Arson and Mulberry, wow

RED MCRAES REBA 12SAt Red Roundup, Bryan Mackenzie talked us into taking 3 Rebas out and offering pick of two of them and we bring the other one home. Well Reba 12S sold a half

interest to Graham Red Angus. Reba Lee sold to Wild Cat Creek and went on to be the Reserve Grand Champion Female at Agribition. We in turn brought 92X home and she is the dam of Lot 32. Scott has kept 12S here at Mar Mac and here are

some of their progeny. Sons of 12S have sold to Horner Cattle Co and Bill, Audrey and Jason Bird. Another cow family at Mar Mac that has made a difference to our

This dark cherry red Beiber Hard Drive female has stuck out since day one. Her extreme length, femininity and dark color just hits you. The Fran cow family is a part of the Frado 53J family. Fran sold to Lloyd Cavers and in his dispersal we purchased her back and started her in the ET program. We flushed her to DMM Creed 75W and were very impressed with the female offspring. 47A is one of the daughters. Juniors if you are looking for an eye catching Junior Angus female, look no further.
