Gorge Artists Inc., is a not-for-profit corporation. It was founded by John Maher, Pat Bozanich and Marian Dyche in 2006.

The mission of Gorge Artists (GA) is to advance art and encourage artists in the Columbia River Gorge by:• Building community among artists and the public• Promoting art and business education• Providing opportunities for the public to experience and enjoy art

Gorge Artists is the founder of the Gorge Artists Open Studios Tour, a yearly public tour of area art studios with the goal of showcasing the wonderful art of the Gorge artists and providing an insight into the environment in which art is created.

It is our desire to support artists so they can flourish in this beautiful scenic area and bring the experience of art to all art lovers.

Parking: Ample street-side parking, no size limits. Bike friendly.Description of Work: Heather has monumental sculptures on display in clay, bronze and wood,

and you can catch her with a chainsaw carving out front or in the back pouring bronze from a thundering furnace.

Stay on Frankton as it curves sharply left, then right again. House will be on the left side of Frankton, before you reach Prospect or May St. It’s a two level house with a double garage. House color is caramel and orange.

Parking: Park in the driveway. If full, it’s safest to take a left onto Prospect and park along the road, then walk to the house. Entrance to studio is through the door on the SOUTH side of the garage.

Description of Work: My clay work is marked by the velvety porcelain clay I use, and the vibrant colors of my glazes and design work. Each piece is a unique canvas for color. My new line of wall-sculptures maintain the same bold colors of my functional pieces, while capturing a landscape of shapes and movement mounted to acrylic-painted canvas boards.

Description: Our studio walls are covered with photos of things we want to paint. We mix dye, paint, and store all our dishtowels, napkins, and tablerunners here.

Parking: Parking is available on all of 29th Street.Description of Work: I create hand-pulled prints on a hand-turned printing press experimenting

with monoprints, collagraphs, woodcuts and solarplate etchings. Each design is either carved in a block, painted on plexi-glass, etched on a metal plate or constructed out of recycled materials. I am an European trained printmaker with an American Folk Art sensibility. Vivid in color, and rich in story, my work conveys a childlike whimsy and wonder at our magical world. My adventures and the stimuli of children, travel, music, foreign cultures and the natural world inform my life’s work as an artist.

houses and barns found primarily in the Columbia Gorge area. The structures are carefully deconstructed and the vintage wood is saved from the landfill and the burn pile. All our designs are original and influenced by aesthetic simplicity and function. Each piece is hand signed and preserved with a natural oil wax finish.

Willamette Valley and Tahoe National Forrest. Instead of the vista, I focus on the intimate and close aspects of the trail and canopy of the trees. My style is aggressive and expressionistic. I am invested in mark making as would be an abstract expressionist painter. My goal is to reconnect viewers with nature, specifically the rain forest and have them fall in love with nature again.

experience as a sculptress of glass and metal, Laurel has established the studio professionally while educating the public. Visitors will delight in the onsite sculpture garden, retail gallery, and a glimpse into the world of how her works of art are made.

to bring art into clothing. She has been creating her clothing line for over 30 years. Now making limited editions with her unlimited artistic expressions and creating unusual colors in fabrics.

south away from the river. Go .2 miles, turn R on E 2nd. Go .7 miles. Turn L on Washington. Go 2 blocks. The Dalles Art Center is on the right in the former Carnegie Library on the corner of 4th and Washington.

Parking: On the street.Description of Work: Colour and texture inspire my weaving. I design and weave towels, table

runners and scarves using cotton, alpaca, silk, bamboo and other natural fibers. I have been part of the Gorge Artists Open Studios Tour since its beginning 9 years ago. My interest in textiles began as a child in Nova Scotia watching my French-Canadian grandmother with her needlework tools.
