As the temperatures continue to rise, so does the progress of your Executive Committee in facilitating the upcoming events which benefit the El Paso Chapter AIA. Bruno Vasquez continues to do a stellar job in providing for the upcoming AIA Golf Tourney (refer to details in the newsletter); please assist by spreading the word to your business partners to support this effort which fuels our EPAF Scholarships.
Speaking of Scholarships, I’m hoping that you met a couple of recent recipients of our Scholarships, as two of them, Rosa Olivia Ramos and Georgina Gutierrez, attended our last Chapter meeting. Additionally, these ladies are officers of the AIAS (Student Chapter/Texas Tech).
After much deliberation and concerted searching, we have found our new Chapter Secretary: Ms. Paulina Lagos (InSitu Architects). I’m certain she will prove to be a formidable contributor to the Chapter. Additionally, we have secured the acceptance from Mr. Tommy Razloznik(PSRBB/Commercial) to be our new TAC Advisory Trustee. Please render your full support to these colleagues who will be calling on you for assistance in their new Chapter endeavors.

Call to Action!2015 URBAN SKETCH WORKSHOPSaturday, October 17, 2015AIA El Paso will schedule a series ofThe purpose of these events is to bring awareness to the communityabout Architecture by promoting our profession.
One of the events scheduled is the 2015 URBAN SKETCHWORKSHOP. This is a great opportunity for our Chapter to engage withthe local community. The event will consist of a sketching workshop;afterwards, small groups will walk out and about in Downtown El Pasopracticing what they learned, under the supervision of volunteers likeyou.
We are looking for a minimum of 12 volunteers to assist the sketchinggroups.
Also, we need sponsors to help us pay for the sketching pads, pencils,and refreshments that will be given to the participants. Your company’slogo will be printed on the cover, and your sponsorship will beacknowledged during the event.

Call for Entries2015 Art by Architects ExhibitionAIA El Paso will schedule a series of events to celebrate the month ofARCHtober.
The purpose of these events is to bring awareness to the communityabout Architecture by promoting our profession.
One of the events scheduled is the 2015 Art by Architects Exhibition. Thisis an opportunity for local AIA members and Architecture Students toshowcase their art.
The exhibition will be on display on the first floor of City Hall. This eventis coordinated through the City of El Paso’s Community Exhibit Program.
Art pieces for the collection are now being accepted and can include thefollowing: painting, photography, sketch, and sculpture.
The exhibition runs from October 1st until November 25th.
