LAST TIME OUTA cold shooting day led to a 68-47 loss to Boston U. on Saturday afternoon. The Leopards were 16-of-56 from the floor (29 percent) at Case Gym, including a 14 percent clip in the first half when the Terriers raced out to a 26-11 lead at halftime.

Monty Boykins led Lafayette with 10 points, the only Lafayette player in double figures. Zach Rufer chipped in with nine and Matt Klinewski added seven. Freshman Paulius Zalys continued his solid play, adding six points and six rebounds with a couple of assists in 22 minutes. Nick Lindner scored five to points to inch closer to the 1000-career-point plateau, bringing his total 979.

THE SKINNY ON THE CRUSADERSPicked eighth in the Patriot League preseason poll, Holy Cross enters Wednesday’s matchup with a 7-8 overall mark and a 2-2 clip in Patriot League action. The Crusaders defeated Boston U. and Colgate at home, while falling to Navy and Bucknell on the road. Holy Cross’ lone common non-conference opponent with Lafayette was Sacred Heart, whom the Crusaders took care of by a 69-60 margin on Nov. 25. Robert Champion leads a trio of double-figure scorers at 12.3 points per game, joined by freshman Karl Charles at 11.2 points per contest and Malachi Alexander with 10.7 per night. Alexander is also the lead man on the glass 5.4 boards per game. Since entering league play, Holy Cross is third in the Patriot League in field-goal percentage, knocking down shots at a 44.5 percent clip. Much of that high number is attributed to an efficiently-run offense that ranks first in assist/turnover ratio in conference contests at 1.4. The Crusaders are also tops in the league in assists per game in league affairs with 17.3 per night.

INJURY REPORTSenior Bryce Scott suffered head and shoulder injuries, causing him to miss most of the second half against Loyola on Jan. 2 and all of the Army and Boston U. games. Scott cleared concussion protocol, but his shoulder remains day-to-day and he’s listed as questionable for Wednesday’s contest.

LAST MEETINGLafayette used a balanced attack to snap a three-game skid with an 89-81 win over Holy Cross on Feb. 18 at Kirby Sports Center.

All five Lafayette starters tallied double-figure scoring performances. Seth Hinrichs led the way with 19 points, while classmate Dan Trist and Bryce Scott had 18 apiece, and Nick Lindner

and Joey Ptasinski chipped in with 15 and 14, respectively. Trist also ripped down 10 rebounds on the night for his sixth double-double of the season and eighth of his career.

Lafayette’s 89-point performance was its largest output since the first game of league play, a 92-78 win over Army in West Point, N.Y. It was evident from the opening tip that Lafayette was poised to break out of its three-game slump as the Leopards went 32-for-56 from the floor (57.1%), their second-highest percentage of the season. The Maroon and White were 8-for-17 from beyond the arc (47.1%) and 17-for-23 from the free-throw line (73.9%).

Lafayette won the battle on the glass for just the ninth time in 26 games, 30-29, and worked its offense efficiently with 20 assists on 32 made field goals. Additionally, the Leopards got 14 points off of second-chance opportunities.

HOME SWEET HOMELafayette has, for the majority of the year, looked like two different teams in and out of Kirby Sports Center, boasting a 2-3 record inside the friendly confines and a 2-8 mark in opposing arenas. The Leopards are averaging 81.6 points per game in Easton compared to 68.3 per contest as visitors and are shooting just less than five percentage points better on College Hill from the field (44.7%) than when away from home (40.5%). Last season, the Maroon and White went 11-5 in Kirby Sports Center including a win at home in the Patriot League championship game over American, 65-63.

Lindner Chosen for Preseason All-Patriot League Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Junior co-captain Nick Lindner of the Lafayette men’s basketball team was selected to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team, it was announced at Patriot League Media Day in Bethlehem, Pa. on Oct. 22.

Coming off the team’s Patriot League championship run a year ago, the Patriot League’s head coaches and sports information directors predicted Lafayette to finish sixth this season after losing its trio of 1,000-point scorers in Seth Hinrichs ‘15, Joey Ptasinski ‘15 and Dan Trist ‘15 to graduation. Lehigh and Bucknell were picked at the top of the table with 12 and eight first-place votes, respectively, while Boston U., Army West Point and American followed in front of the Leopards. Loyola, Holy Cross, Colgate and Navy rounded out the poll.

“We’re the defending champions, but we’ve lost a lot,” head coach Fran O’Hanlon said. “Last year’s team set the bar high and we’re looking to build on that championship culture. Hopefully, we can use the past to help us with our attitude and approach to the game this season.”

As a sophomore, Lindner was in his best form when it mattered most during the Patriot League Tournament in March, averaging 23.5 points per game in three contests to earn Tournament MVP honors. The starting point guard for 31 games a year ago, he finished third on the team with 12.5 points per contest. An All-Patriot League Third-Team selection, he led the conference in free-throw percentage (85.0%) and assist/turnover ratio (2.6), and was second in assists with 5.2 helpers per game.

“Nick leads by example,” O’Hanlon added. “His work ethic is second to none and, as a team leader, he puts his heart into every game.”

Lindner’s 162 assists a year ago were good enough for a tie for third in school history. He enters his junior season eighth in career free-throw percentage (82.1%), tied for 15th in career assists (286) and 17th in career three-point percentage (38.4%).

Players will not be available on game day until after the game. Interview requests should be made through the Athletic Communications Office.

2015-16 QuIck factSDISTRIBUTING THE BALLWhen the Leopards’ motion offense is working, Lafayette manages solid assist numbers. The Leopards passed for 18 assists in their three-point win at Army, the second-best total this season after a 20-assist effort against at La Salle in November. Nick Lindner (6) and Eric Stafford (4) combined for 10 of the team’s assists at Army.

KEEP THE MILESTONES COMINGWith 22 points in Lafayette’s loss to Fairleigh Dickinson on Dec. 9, senior Bryce Scott eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for his career. Scott became the 42nd player in Lafayette history to reach that milestone, joining former teammates Seth Hinrichs, Dan Trist and Joey Ptasinski on the 1,000-point list. Next in line for the milestone is junior Nick Lindner, who is just 21 points away with 979 career points.

STAFFORD STEPS INThe Boston U. game marked the third career start and second straight for Eric Stafford, who is helping to fill the void left by the injury to Bryce Scott. Stafford managed four assists and three rebounds without a turnover in 28 minutes at Army and backed that up with a career-high four rebounds with two assists and no turnovers at Boston U.

GIMME A BREAKToday’s contest marks the sixth of nine games in the interim academic session for the Maroon and White as the Leopards recover from the fall semester and prepare for the spring. Spring semester classes begin Jan. 25.

HALF AND HALFLafayette is 0-9 when trailing at halftime this season and has lost its games by an average of 16.1 points per contest. A year ago, the Leopards were 4-13 when trailing at the half, but 15-0 with a halftime lead. The Leopards will need to get off to a fast start against Holy Cross if these statistics hold true, clinging to a 4-2 mark this season with a lead at the break.

FAMILIAR FOESLafayette has played 745 games against current Patriot League members, holding a 400-345 overall record. In League play, Lafayette is 151-200 in the regular season and 22-22 in the Patriot League Tournament. Under Fran O’Hanlon, the Leopards are 138-143 in conference regular-season play.

ALL-TIME SERIESHoly Cross holds a 35-25 edge in an all-time series with the Leopards that dates back to 1947. The two teams split the season series a year ago and Lafayette has come out victorious in six of the last eight contests.

MANNING THE BENCHLafayette’s Fran O’Hanlon has posted 293 wins in his career in his 21st season on the sideline for the Leopards, while Holy Cross’ Bill Carmody is in his first season (18th overall), holding a career mark of 291-243.

DOUBLESSophomore Matt Klinewski recorded the first double-double of his young career on Dec. 9 in Kirby Sports Center, posting 15 points and securing 16 rebounds in defeat. Klinewski became the first Lafayette player to record more than 15 rebounds in a game since Jamaal Douglas ripped down 17 boards against Navy on Jan. 8, 2004. Freshman Paulius Zalys picked up his first career double-double on Jan. 2, ripping down 11 boards to go along with 10 points vs. Loyola.

MOVING ON UPNick Lindner is making his move up the charts in career assists, entering the year in a tie for 15th all-time at Lafayette with 286 helpers. Lindner currently sits in a tie for eighth at 354 after dishing out two assists at Boston U. Bryce Scott sits at 19th with his total currently at 236.

caReeR thRee-PoInteRSBOX OUTLafayette has struggled on the glass this season, which is to be expected when losing the top two rebounders from a year ago in Dan Trist ’15 and Seth Hinrichs ’15. The Leopards are currently -7.9 in rebounding margin, but are used to overcoming difficulties on the glass, finishing last season ninth in the Patriot League in rebounding margin at -2.0 and still recording the team’s first 20-win season since 2000. Lafayette has not lost the rebounding battle four times this season, matching Penn with 38 apiece, outboarding Colgate, 44-28, holding a 38-37 edge against Loyola and outrebounding Army 41-34.

LITTLE OF EVERYTHING FROM LINDNERJunior co-captain Nick Lindner began the season on a tear with 49 points in his first two games. His ability to score when necessary always makes him a dangerous offensive threat, but being able to drop nine assists in a game, like he did at Cornell, is also an added bonus. Lindner leads the team in scoring at 17.1 points per game, good enough for fifth in the Patriot League, and sits fifth in the conference in assists with 4.5 per contest.

At the end of his sophomore campaign in March, the Doylestown, Pa. native shined in the Patriot League Tournament, averaging 23.7 points per game over three tournament contests to earn Tournament MVP honors.

SHOWTIME FOR MATTY KSophomore forward Matt Klinewski has found his stride this season, scoring in double figures in all but four games. After averaging 3.1 points in nine minutes per contest as a freshman, the Voorhees, N.J. native is third on the team in scoring at 13.1 per night and leads the way in rebounding with 5.9 boards per game. His 11 double-digit scoring performances are made even more impressive by the fact that he only accomplished that feat twice a year ago.

FRONTCOURT DEPTHReturning seniors Ben Freeland and Nathaniel Musters, and newcomers Tyler Barlow and Paulius Zalys have been tasked with joining Klinewski on the frontcourt this season, with each providing different

benefits when on the floor. Musters has gotten the nod to start in 14 of 15 games, while Freeland has contributed 6.7 rebounds per game in Patriot League action. Zalys is averaging 22 minutes per game and has grown since entering Patriot League play, averaging 6.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per league contest. Barlow, who has played in 12 games, had his best game of the season at La Salle, sending back two Explorer shots to go along with four points and six rebounds in 12 minutes of action.

BACKCOURT CAPTAINSSenior Bryce Scott and junior Nick Lindner take over the captaincy this season after the departure of Seth Hinrichs ’15, who was the team’s lone captain in 2014-15.

Scott, an El Dorado Hills, Calif. native, started 29 games for the Maroon and White during his junior year, averaging 8.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest. The senior currently sits in seventh in the Lafayette record books for career three-point field goals (174), tied for sixth for career free-throw percentage (83.9%) and eighth in career three-point field-goal percentage (40.4%). Additionally, Scott has appeared in all but four games during his three seasons in Easton. This season, Scott is averaging 13.5 points per contest on 34-of-75 shooting from beyond the arc (45.3%).

Joining Scott to lead this year’s squad is the reigning Patriot League Tournament MVP in Lindner. Lindner started 31 games a year ago at point guard and finished third on the team in scoring with 12.5 points per contest. A selection to the All-Patriot League Third Team and a Preseason All-Patriot League selection entering 2015-16, he has been excellent so far this season, picking up Patriot League Player of the Week honors on Nov. 16 after a pair of 27 and 22-point performances in a split week for the Maroon and White. His 162 assists a year ago are good enough for a tie for third in school history, while he currently sits in a tie for 12th in career free-throw percentage (80.9%) and a tie for eighth in career assists (354).

BALL SECURITYWith the return of Nick Lindner and Bryce Scott to the backcourt for the Maroon and White, head coach Fran O’Hanlon was sure turnovers would be kept to a minimum for the Lafayette offense. Lindner led the league in assist/turnover ratio a year ago with a rate of 2.6 and the pair both sat in the top-15 in the conference in assists per game with 5.2 and 2.4, respectively. Additionally, Lindner’s 2.6 ratio was good enough for 30th nationally and his 5.2 helpers ranked 33rd. Things have not worked out that way this season, however, as Lindner sits sixth in the league rankings with a ratio of 1.6 and the Leopards are eighth in the league in turnover margin at -1.6.

MORE RAIN NEEDEDHaving connected on 261-of-640 three-point attempts a year ago, a 40.8 percent clip, the Maroon and White finished first in the Patriot League and fifth in the nation in three-point shooting percentage. Additionally, the Leopards were one of just 10 teams in the country to shoot above 40 percent from beyond the arc. This season, things have been slower out of the gates as the Leopards are sixth in the league in outside shooting percentage at 34.8 percent. The Leopards have had their moments, including

a 16-for-24 outside-shooting clinic at Sacred Heart, but the Leopards are shooting 35.7 percent from outside since entering league play and connected on 7-of-23 attempts at Boston U. (30.4%) on Saturday.

SUNDAY FUNDAYTwo of the four Lafayette wins this season have occurred on Sunday afternoons at Kirby Sports Center. Nick Lindner’s surge in overtime helped the Leopards to an 87-86 win over Saint Peter’s on Nov. 15, while the Maroon and White clicked on all cylinders offensively in a 92-86 victory over Penn on Nov. 29.

WEDNESDAY NO-FUNDAYLafayette has not enjoyed its games on Wednesdays this season, going 1-5 in Wednesday contests. The Leopards are 1-4 on Saturdays, 2-0 on Sundays, and 0-1 on Mondays and Fridays, respectively.

O’HANLON IN 21st SEASON ON COLLEGE HILLThe all-time winningest coach in Lafayette and Patriot League history and longest-tenured coach in the conference, Fran O’Hanlon is in his 21st season as the Leopards’ head coach. A three-time Patriot League Coach of the Year, O’Hanlon has thrice led Lafayette’s program to the NCAA Tournament and lays claim to four Patriot League titles.

CLUTCH FROM THE STRIPEA staple of O’Hanlon’s teams through the years, Lafayette is once again an excellent free-throw shooting team in 2015-16, dropping in 214-of-291 shots from the line, a 73.5 percent clip. That mark is good enough for the second spot in the league rankings and the 39th spot nationally.

VETERAN-ROOKIE MIX ON THE SIDELINESO’Hanlon’s sideline features some familiar faces as well as newcomers this winter. Pat Doherty returns for his seventh season and first as the program’s Associate Head Coach, while Matt Blue returns for his first season after five years as an assistant at Hartford. Blue served under O’Hanlon with the Maroon and White during the 2009-10 campaign. Additionally, Jimmy Fenerty comes to College Hill after two seasons as a graduate assistant manager at Temple and Conor Dow takes over as Director of Basketball Operations in his first year.

AT HOME ON COLLEGE HILLHead coach Fran O’Hanlon is one of only seven head coaches to direct the same Division I program since the start of the 1995-96 season. O’Hanlon is joined on the list by Jim Boeheim (Syracuse), Mike Krzyzewski (Duke), Bob McKillop (Davidson), Dave Loos (Austin Peay), Tom Izzo (Michigan State) and Phil Martelli (Saint Joseph’s).

MORE ON COACH OHead coach Fran O’Hanlon is the Patriot League’s all-time winningest coach with 293 career wins. In addition to owning the all-time wins record, O’Hanlon holds the overall (612) and league (282) games coached marks. With the win over Holy Cross on Feb. 19, 2014, O’Hanlon set the all-time conference wins mark of 127 and passed former Bucknell head coach Pat Flannery. Coach ‘O’ currently sits at 138 Patriot League victories.

MAKE MORE THAN YOU MISSOffensive efficiency was a key to the Leopards’ success last season as Lafayette shot better than 40 percent from the field in 29 of its 32 games. The Maroon and White were above 50 percent in 15 of those contests. This season, the Leopards have been over 40 percent in nine of their first 15 games and shot better than 50 percent twice, including a 60-percent effort in the win at Sacred Heart (27-of-45).

PLAYING THE MATCHUPSHead coach Fran O’Hanlon has been known to run players in and out at stoppages of play, much to the chagrin of official statisticians and public address announcers. Look for the Leopards to sub early and often, while going as many as eight or nine players deep on the bench this season. Coach O had eight or more players tally 10-plus minutes in 16 of the team’s 33 games this season. The Leopards have had eight players tally 10-plus minutes in 12 of the 15 contests this season.

FREE BASKETBALLLafayette won its only overtime game of the 2014-15 season on Feb. 4, using an 11-of-12 mark from the free-throw line in the extra session to secure an 84-74 win over Bucknell. The Leopards have already surpassed that number in 2015-16, using 11 points from Nick Lindner in the extra session against Saint Peter’s to squeeze out an 87-86 victory and dropping a 91-89 decision to FDU. Head coach Fran O’Hanlon boasts a 21-18 mark in his career after regulation time.

ABOUT LAFAYETTE COLLEGELafayette is a top liberal arts college with 2,400 students and 215 full-time faculty that offers a wide variety of undergraduate degree programs including engineering.

With close proximity to New York City and Philadelphia, Lafayette has one of the highest endowment per-student rates in the nation. This means ample resources to fuel student research, and provide opportunities to study abroad, internships and field work. It means outstanding facilities, Division I sports, and funding for 250 student groups on one of the most beautiful campuses in the country.

A national leader in graduation rates, undergraduate research, and graduate and mid-career salaries, Lafayette offers the benefits of larger schools with the student-centered approach of a small, undergraduate college.

FRESH FACESFive newcomers to the Lafayette program have given the Leopards a different feel this season. Tyler Barlow, a 6-8, 192-pound forward, travels to Easton from Corpus Christi, Texas where he was a two-year letterwinner in basketball after transferring from Great Oak High School in San Diego, Calif. after his sophomore season. During his senior campaign, he averaged 16.5 points and 13.8 rebounds per contest. Barlow’s squad went undefeated on its way to a district championship last winter and was regional semifinalists each of his last two seasons.

Barlow made his presence felt at La Salle, ripping down six rebounds to go along with four points and two blocks in his most significant time of the year. He’s one of the few rim-protectors the Leopards have on the defensive end and is looked at to provide defense and rebounding during his time on the floor.

Coming to College Hill from North Little Rock, Ark., Sam Dunkum, a 6-10, 215-pound center completed his second year of varsity basketball at North Little Rock High School after transferring from Little Rock Christian Academy after his sophomore season. During his junior year, he averaged six points, six rebounds and four blocks per contest to help his team to conference and state championships.

Dunkum is currently recovering from a knee injury and will miss the remainder of his freshman campaign.

Auston Evans, hailing from McKinney, Texas, is a 6-6, 186-pound wing with the ability to stretch the floor and score from multiple positions. A four-year varsity player at the Greenhill School in Addison, Texas, Evans averaged in double figures in scoring each of his four seasons. He eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau during his junior season, averaging 16.5 points per game that year. Evans is a three-time All-Southwest Preparatory Conference honoree and earned Team MVP laurels his sophomore and junior seasons.

Like Barlow, Evans also provided a defensive spark off the bench at La Salle as his length from the guard position provides a match-up problem for smaller guards. He’s seen action in 13 of 15 games for the

natIonal/leaGue RankInGSLeopards and scored a career-high eight points in the win at Sacred Heart.

Jacob Orender hails from Jacksonville, Fla., where he was a three-year starter and two-year captain for his squad. A 6-0, 176-pound guard, he was an All-Conference First-Team and All-First Coast Third-Team performer during his senior season in which he led his team in scoring with 22.6 points per contest. That production earned Orender Team MVP honors as well as a selection to the All-Northeast Florida First Team by In the Game magazine. This past summer, Orender competed as a member of the National Maccabi Team at the Pan-American games.

Orender has seen minutes sparingly this season in seven games for the Maroon and White.

Finally, Paulius Zalys, a 6-7, 200-pound forward from Kaunas, Lithuania moved to the Pennsylvania area three years ago, playing on the varsity basketball team at The Perkiomen School in Pennsburg the last two seasons. Zalys averaged 17.3 points per game and 6.9 rebounds per contest during his junior campaign and was named to the Mercury All-Area First Team last season. While in Lithuania, he was a member of the Arvydas Sabonis Basketball Academy since grade school and participated on U16 Lithuanian national team while earning an invite to the U18 national team camp. Zalys is the second Leopard to travel to Easton by way of Kaunas, Lithuania, joining Deirunas Visockas ’11, who attended high school in Los Angeles, Calif. before finding a home on College Hill.

Although he hasn’t started a game, Zalys has seen starter minutes early this season, producing with 6.8 points per game, good enough for fifth on the team in scoring and 4.5 boards per game, second behind Matt Klinewski (5.9 rpg) for the team lead on the glass.

ALUMS ABROADSeth Hinrichs ’15 and Dan Trist ’15 each inked contracts with international squads this summer as Hinrichs signed with FC Porto of Liga Portuguesa de. Basquetbol (LPB) and Trist joined Union Financiera Baloncesto Oviedo of Liga Espanola de Baloncesto (LEB) in Spain. Hinrichs was the lone captain on Lafayette’s Patriot League championship team a year ago, finishing the year second in scoring at 13.1 points per game and second in rebounding with 5.7 boards per contest.

The LPB, founded in 2008, features 11 teams and is considered the highest professional league in Portugal. FC Porto competed in Proliga a year ago, considered Portugal’s second tier of professional basketball, but was no match for its competition, going 27-0 overall on its way to the Proliga crown. As a result of its dominating 2014-15 campaign, FC Porto was promoted to the LPB for the upcoming season.

Trist joins the LEB, the second-tier professional league in Spain behind Liga ACB. The league features 14 teams and Union Financiera Baloncesto Oviedo went 11-17 a year ago. Following graduation, he represented Australia at the World University Games in Gwangju this summer, averaging 8.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per contest in eight games.

The Sydney, Australia native was a dominant force in the Patriot League during his senior season a year ago, when he was one of just two unanimous selections to the All-Patriot League First Team. Tops on the team in scoring (17.3 ppg) and rebounding (6.7 rpg), Trist improved every year while wearing the Maroon and White, with his final season helping the Leopards to a Patriot League title.

Levi Giese ’13 and Tony Johnson ’13 continue to play professionally in Uruguay and Mexico, respectively. Giese, following a brief stint professionally in Japan, signed with Club Trouville in Montevideo, Uruguay. Previously, Lafayette’s third-ranked shot-blocker in program history (109 blocked shots) competed for Bambitious Nara, an expansion team in the Basketball Japan League.

On the AAU circuit, he played for Houston Hoops, winning the Gold Elite Championship at Big Foot Hoops in Las Vegas and the Platinum Championship at the H-Town Classic. His team also took second place in the Platinum division at June Jam. Off the court, he’s a member of the National Honor Society and earned the City of Houston’s Certificate of Recognition for his public service to fellow neighbors, Magnum Manor and the City of Houston.

A 6-6, 190-pound wing with the ability to shoot from all areas of the floor, Kyle Stout doesn’t have to travel far to College Hill, having played for Parkland High School in Allentown, Pa. each of the last three seasons. A three-sport athlete at Parkland, he participated in football, basketball and volleyball, with the latter two being for four years on the varsity level.

On the basketball court, he was a three-time district champion and two-time league champion, while earning All-East Penn Conference First-Team honors a year ago. During his junior year, he averaged 12.1 points per game in his first season as a starter, leading his team to a 28-2 record. Stout shot 47 percent from the field, including 43 percent from three-point range. Additionally, he led the league in free-throw percentage (83%) and averaged more than two assists and 4.5 rebounds per contest.

Finally, Cal Reichwein, a 6-2, 185-pound guard comes to College Hill from Doylestown, Pa. where he was a four-year starter at Central Bucks West High School. A captain his junior and senior seasons, he averaged 13 points per game a year ago to go along with four rebounds and three assists per contest. His team has improved each of his three seasons, going 17-7 in 2014-15.

Reichwein was a First-Team All-Suburban 1 League selection during his junior season, and was also named to the All-Intelligencer First Team. In the classroom, he’s earned distinguished honors each of his last two years, awarded to those students with grade-point averages exceeding 4.0.

LAFAYETTE ON TELEVISION The Lafayette Sports Network will provide live television coverage of at least 11 games on the 2015-16 Lafayette men’s basketball ledger, while CBS Sports Network will show at least one game and the PAC-12 Network and TV2 Sports each will show one contest. All of the LSN broadcasts will be shown for free on the Patriot League Network in addition to LSN partnering with ESPN for possible distribution on ESPN3 and ESPN College Sports Extra. LSN’s traditional live distribution to more than 10 million viewers on RCN-TV and WBPH-60 covering all of Eastern Pennsylvania will be enhanced again this season by live coverage on all of RCN’s cable systems in major markets along the East Coast. RCN subscribers in Boston (226,000), New York City (250,000), Philadelphia (382,000) and Washington, D.C. (131,000) will be able to watch Lafayette games live on the RCN-TV network. In addition to standard definition dial positions (4 in the Lehigh Valley and 8 elsewhere), RCN-TV can now be seen on the HD tier (1004 in the Lehigh Valley and 608 in Philadelphia). Nationally, LSN telecasts will be picked up for the 15th straight year by DIRECTV and DISH Network outlets, through WBPH-60 and the Mid Atlantic Sports Network (MASN). All televised games will be available live on WBPH-60, located on channel 60 on DIRECTV and 8169 on DISH Network. MASN, which is available regionally and nationally on DIRECTV channel 640 and DISH Network channel 432, is the television home of the Baltimore Orioles, Washington Nationals and Baltimore Ravens and reaches nearly six million homes in a seven-state region from Harrisburg, Pa. to Charlotte, N.C. MASN continues as one of LSN’s national distribution partners, airing select contests to more than 65 million households via both DIRECTV and DISH Network for the fifth straight season. CBS Sports Network will air the Leopards’ Patriot League contest against Bucknell on Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m. at Sojka Pavilion, with the possible addition of one or two flex games at the end of the conference regular season on either Feb. 21 or Feb. 27. In addition, both semifinals of the Patriot League Tournament and the championship game will be televised on CBS Sports Network. Lafayette’s road game against Pac-12 opponent USC will be covered by the Pac-12 Network. Tipoff for that game is set for 3 p.m. eastern. Additionally, the away portion of Lafayette’s two-game series with Lehigh will be covered by TV2 Sports, locally. All 11 LSN broadcasts will be streamed live worldwide on the Patriot League Network and select games will air live on ESPN3, ESPN Full Court or both as a part of LSN’s partnership with ESPN. LSN’s distribution on ESPN3 and ESPN Full Court will be announced on a weekly basis throughout the season. Emmy-nominated local sports broadcaster Gary Laubach will handle all of the Leopards’ play-by-play duties for the 19th straight season. Former Lafayette men’s basketball coach John Leone will provide color analysis for the 19th season. With the move of 13-year veteran sideline reporter Dan Mowdy to public address following the retirement of the legendary Jim Finnen, Mike Joseph will take over sideline duties this season as the third member of the LSN crew. Joseph has worked alongside Laubach as the color analyst for Lafayette football for the past six seasons.
