Addressing The Computer Science/Mathematics Employee Shortage

Beginning with the 2015/2016 School year LakeView will add a strand to our Information Technology Program and retitle it as Information Technology/Computer Science/Mathematics in our IT Networking Academy, a part of LakeView Technology Academy.

LakeView will add the following Computer Science/Mathematics courses

• -AP Computer Science A (Java) - 2015/2016

• -AP Computer Science AB (Advanced Java) and AP Computer Science Programming- 2016/2017

Proposed Criteria for Admission intoLakeView Technology Academy

REGULAR EDUCATION STUDENTS

Pre-engineering/science/mathematics Bachelors Degree program: • B or better in middle school mathematics, science, and reading

• Proficient or Advanced in 6th and 7th grade mathematics and reading WKCE • No more than 5 tardies from September through January of the 8th grade year • No more than 3 absences from September through January of the 8th grade year* An exception may be

made for documented medical absences • No out of school suspensions during 8th grade • Meeting all of the above criteria will be an automatic acceptance pending room… • Technical College Associates Degree Program:

• C or better in middle school mathematic, science, and reading

• Proficient or Advanced in 6th and 7th grade mathematics and reading WKCE

• No more than 5 tardies from September through January of the 8th grade year

1. Siblings of a presently enrolled student and meeting all minimum requirements - 1st Special Education Students who meet all the minimum requirements and are determined able to matriculate the curriculum by Special Education Staff

2. Female students who meet all the minimum requirements

3. Pre-engineering students who meet all the minimum requirements

4. Male students who meet all the minimum requirements and may require a lottery for the 4th group

made for documented medical absences • No out of school suspension during 8th grade • All Special Education Students whose current IEP can be met including goals, program, and aid and

services can be implemented in the all inclusive environment at LTA • Meeting all the above criteria will be an automatic acceptance pending room.
