Our entire team would like to thank all our travel partners for being an integral part in helping us realize the dream of celebrating our 22nd anniversary. We look forward to working with all of our partners in the years to come and wish each and everyone a successful 2014.

Recognizing the need for a niche market we concluded that specializing in the unique ecotourism destinations of Costa Rica, Belize, Panama, and Nicaragua would be our mission. We began the journey to become the “experts” in these countries. As a result of the sophistication and uniqueness of the destinations, our journey over the past twenty-two years to develop the knowledge to guide our travel partners has been accomplished.

One of the most important elements in our success is that we are represented by ground operators in these countries. For instance, Destination Costa Rica is one of the most prominent tour companies in San Jose. Its employees are “walking encyclopedias” with in-depth knowledge of the variety of attractions the country offers.

Our company has developed significant professional recognition in that it operates on three distinct levels

1) Air and land packages as featured in this brochure using fares of American Airlines, United, Delta, US Air and Grupo Taca.

2) Tailor-made itineraries designed for the special demands of the visitor such as ecotourism, hiking, bird-watching, diving, whitewater rafting & more.

3) Custom designed group incentives and affinity programs.

We pride ourselves with the ability to help our partners sell more complex and intricate itineraries. With the added benefit of articulating the value of different types of accommodations, tours, transportation and special requests. The goal always is to make your clients’ experi-ence the most memorable and exceed their expectations.

Our team is staffed by the most qualified and knowl-edgeable destination specialists. They have visited Costa Rica, Belize, Panama, and Nicaragua many times and are trained and updated on all new developments.

Realizing the importance of education, we conduct ongoing seminars and workshops nationwide involv-ing our regional sales managers accompanied by local executive staff. Our brochures, flyers and website are valuable tools for agents, enabling them to gain market share in these exciting and profitable destinations.

We believe in the old fashioned way of gaining your trust by keeping a staff of experienced sales execu-tives on a local level. These highly qualified individuals are at your disposal in any of your marketing projects involving Costa Rica, Belize, Panama, and Nicaragua; be it for individuals, groups, professional organizations or incentives.

Our mission statement is as important to us today as it was twenty-two years ago…

“we make it easy to get there, nature makes it hard to leave.”

Costa RicaThere are very few places in the world that can offer such an incredible diversity of scenery, climate and vacation pleasures as Costa Rica does, especially when you realize that it is only 150 miles wide from ocean to ocean and 250 miles long from border to border. In what would be an area as small as the state of West Virginia, this land of wonders can offer at any given time the soothing effect of the sun rays at a white sand tropical beach, the excitement of watching volcanoes erupt, the

presence of the quetzal, one of the most beautiful birds in the world... and much, much more!

Ancient archaeological sites of Mayan temples, a pristine environment, the second-largest barrier reef in the world, living coral gardens and exotic marine life await you. Belize lies west of the Caribbean Sea on the Central American isthmus and is home to coral reefs and

to swaying palm trees on sun-drenched beaches and ten different cultures - the result is an adventure of vacation possibilities.

Costa RicaA melting pot of ethnic and cultural diversity, the Caribbean coast spreads out like a tropical patchwork quilt. Visiting the Caribbean is like entering an area where its inhabitants and culture will remind you of Jamaica and other British colonized Caribbean islands. Rich in awe-inspiring jungle where many endangered species thrive, a great portion of this coast is protected in national parks. Perhaps the best known is Tortuguero, which covers Costa Rica’s eastern seaboard. There are plenty of wetlands, rivers, lagoons and canals that serve as a window through which the visitor can admire the amazing flora and fauna, making it a wonderful experience for nature lovers. Along the coast, approximately 3000 green sea turtles come to shore each season between July and October to lay their eggs. Caymans, monkeys, sloths, toucans, manatees, jaguars, and over 405 species of birds abound in the area.

Arenal & Cloud Forest . Costa Rica 17

Arenal volcano is the smallest and most active volcano in Costa Rica. Long dormant, Arenal erupted in July of 1968 and has been constantly active since. Prior to this, the last eruption is thought to have been around 1500 AD. The volcano is approximately 3000 years old and has an elevation of 5500 feet. Arenal puts on an unforgettable light and smoke show nearly every day. Nighttime viewing is the most spectacular, with glowing lava and mini-explosions lighting up the sky. The area is rich in natural attractions; experience thermo-mineral hot springs, waterfall hikes, horseback rid-ing, birdwatching, biking, and boat tours on the Caño Negro.

High on the Tilaran Mountain Range, Monteverde is one of the most fascinating destinations in Costa Rica. Monteverde is cool, verdant, and rich in biodiversity and a multitude of microclimates. Quaker families came from the US to settle here in 1951, choosing to live in harmony with their surroundings and the Costa Rican families of nearby Santa Elena village. Later, their quest to preserve this area became an international conserva-tion effort that today bears the fruit of the private nonprofit Monteverde Cloud Forests Reserve, a unique balance between conservation and tourism that covers more than 40 square miles. Guided hikes or maps for do-it-yourselfers give access to the well-marked trails, waterfalls, rivers
