Conference Programme
About The United Nations Association of South Africa, NMMU is a student society based in Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in Port Elizabeth which aims to facilitate critical and meaningful youth engagement on contemporary international issues and to enculcate a sensitivity and involvement with respect to the global community through active research, dialogue and dissemination.
The First Annual NMMU Model African Union Conference is our first internal conference engaging with African issues and, as students, we hope to develop a deeper understanding of the intricacies of Pan-African politics and the complexities surrounding conflicting and multi-faceted African interests.
The theme for this conference is 'They call it Africa, We call it Home,' which is meant to reflect a sense of ownership over African issues and our responsibility in our individual capacity, in our homes, in our university, in Africa and essentially in our world to change it for the better.
