President’s WelcomeWelcome to the 2014 Netball NSW Schools Cup Finals Day. In 2014, Netball NSW is delighted to welcome the support of our Official Charity Partner The Kids’ Cancer Project for this State-wide Schools Competition.
Following the huge success of the inaugural Netball NSW Schools Cup in 2013, which was open to primary school students in Years Five and Six, the competition was expanded this year to include both a girls and boys secondary school division (Years Seven and Eight).
In total, 319 schools, involving 5,480 students from around the State competed in three divisions of the 2014 Netball NSW Schools Cup. These numbers are staggering and it’s wonderful to see so many students enjoying netball in a safe and fun environment.
This year’s Netball NSW Schools Cup commenced way back on the 20th March, when Nowra hosted the South Coast Local Day. 30 Local Days and 8 Regional Days later, we have now arrived at the 2014 School Cup State Finals Day to be hosted by the current home of netball in NSW, the Anne Clark Centre.
The Netball NSW Schools Cup is a mammoth undertaking and wouldn’t happen without the unbelievable support of
the wonderful teachers, support staff, parents and volunteers associated with all the participating teams. A big thank you to those Netball Associations and their Members, who provided their courts, facilities and time to host a Local and or Regional Finals Day.
A special thank you to the hard-working Netball NSW Sports Development Team, whose passion for the Netball NSW Schools Cup is only matched by the fun and enjoyment experienced by all taking part.
Lastly, to all the participants, their parents, family members, teachers, coaches, umpires and supporters attending this year’s Netball NSW Schools Cup State Finals Day – congratulations on making it this far and we hope you return home full of wonderful memories.

Our Partners
The Kids’ Cancer ProjectDuring the Schools Cup Finals Day, The Kids’ Cancer Project will be selling their high quality enamel charity pin for $3 each, with proceeds helping fund their world-leading research into finding cures for childhood cancer.
Everyone who purchases The Kids’ Cancer Project pin at Finals Day will go into the draw to win a double pass to the Australian Diamonds vs New Zealand Silver Ferns Test Match at Sydney’s Allphones Arena on 11 October plus a Diamonds Pack (Netball,
Head Band, Drink Bottle, Pedometer & Hand Towel). The draw will take place as part of the Finals Day Presentation Ceremony.
Also in attendance at Finals Day, will be The Kids’ Cancer Project’s mascot “Oscar Bear”.
Along with Sporty Swift, Oscar is undoubtedly one of Netball NSW’s favourite mascots – so make sure you say hi and have a photo with Oscar!
