The cultural and creative economy is a growing sector of the global econ-omy. Governments and creative sectors across the world are increasingly recognizing its importance as a generator of jobs, wealth and cultural engagement.

At the heart of the creative economy are the cultural and creative indus-tries that lie at the crossroads of arts, culture, business and technology.

The Creative Business Cup (CBC) is a global competition for entrepreneurs from the creative industries. It has been initiated since 2010 by the Center for Cultural and Experience Economy (CKO) in Denmark.

CBC is Supported by the Danish Ministry of Business and Growth, Danish Ministery of Culture and the Global Entrepreneurship Week.

The LuxembourgCreative Business Cup

Initiative

Since 2010 Luxembourg is represented in the European Creative Busi-ness Network through the national business incubator. The core mission of ECBN is to assist creative entrepreneurs to do business and collaborate across Europe.

On the national basis, the Technoport (the national incubator), 1535˚C (Creativity Hub, Differdange), MUDAM (Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean) and Luxinnovation (the National Agency for Innovation and Re-search) are collaborating to foster entrepreneurial incentives within the creative industries.

The Creative Business Cup is an optimal vehicle to promote local creative industry success models at the global level. Such incentives are meant to strengthen a distributed local know how in creative industries with strong implication of entrepreneurs.
