I assisted various members of Citrix’s Marketing department with the design and layout of custom print materials while adhering to all visual brand guidelines. Production was notable for its rapid turnaround and international clientele.

Projects included were internal white papers, data sheets, and marketing collateral.

Occasionally I was asked to create or modify a custom project for an upcoming event. These projects often required significant creativity, not so much for the design itself, but rather for the actual production as many of the source files were often either lost or not immediately unavailable.

F5 iRules Conversion Service | Datasheet

citrix.com

F5 iRules Conversion ServiceCitrix® NetScaler® is the industry’s most advanced application delivery controller (ADC), providing the best application performance, availability and security. Upgrading from legacy load balancers to NetScaler solutions is typically straightforward. NetScaler AppExpert policies can be defined using easy-to-use drop-down menus and simple policy expressions. The conversion process, however, can pose greater challenges if the existing load balancer policy relies on complex, script-based configurations using vendor-specific syntax.

The F5 iRules Conversion Service converts existing ADC and load balancing policies implemented with F5® BIG-IP® and VIPRION® devices to an equivalent NetScaler AppExpert policy. The service covers all areas of ADC and load balancing functionality, including application firewall, application-layer content switching, advanced rewrite and response functionality and global traffic management across multiple datacenters. Citrix has years of experience converting F5® iRules® to NetScaler policies and has in-house expertise required to successfully deliver a converted policy. The conversion service is offered by Citrix Consulting Services, providing confidence that the new policies will work exactly as required. The service has fast turnaround times to ensure that project schedules can be maintained and duration and expense of conversions can be controlled.

Key benefitsTested NetScaler policy configurationsAll converted configurations are tested in-house to ensure the policy goals remain the same.

Mobile Workstyles Survey | White Paper

the end of 2020 and provide just two-thirds of an office desk for each employee. The Citrix Workplace of the Future report looks at how organizations are taking work to an entirely new place. Driven by employee demand, 91 percent of organizations worldwide are adopting mobile workstyles – and enabling people to work from anywhere.

Adoption and benefits of mobile workstyles

Mobile workstyles are already embraced by the majority and adoption continues to grow

A quarter (24 percent) of organizations surveyed have fully introduced mobile workstyles already, with a further 38 percent expanding their current deployment. An additional 21 percent plan to implement it within two years. The total number of organizations that have implemented mobile workstyles will rise from 24 percent in 2012, to 83 percent in 2014. That is a compound annual growth rate of 86 percent.

Only 9 percent of organizations do not have plans to adopt mobile workstyles.

Figure 1: 89% of organizations will offer mobile workstyles by 2020.1

Organizations in the United States are adopting mobile workstyles the earliest, with 90 percent already providing or expanding mobile workstyles, followed closely by those in China (85 percent), Brazil (81 percent) and India (77 percent). In Europe, the UK (72 percent), France and Germany (both 71 percent) lead the adoption curve.

Flexibility, cost savings and employee attraction/retention lead corporate benefits

Organizations that have already adopted mobile workstyles have seen multiple benefits. Worldwide, 73 percent cited a more flexible, agile workforce as the primary benefit, followed by lower employee-related costs such as travel (53 percent) and real estate (48 percent) and the ability to attract (47 percent) and retain (44 percent) top talent.

Mobile Workstyles Survey | White Paper

Figure 2: Flexibility, cost savings and employee attraction/retention lead corporate benefits.2

Flexibility, productivity and reduced commuting are top employee benefits

Organizations believe that workers see multiple benefits as a direct result of mobile workstyles strategies. Globally, the majority reported four specific advantages: increased flexibility, increased personal productivity, reduction in commuting time and better work/life balance. In contrast to corporate benefits, there were some profound differences in the perceived benefits for employees from country to country that can be attributed to geographical and cultural factors.

Reduction of commuting time is cited as the lead employee benefit in Europe, rating particularly high in Sweden, the Netherlands and Russia. Organizations in the Americas report increased personal productivity as the lead benefit, closely followed by employee flexibility. In Asia-Pacific, employee flexibility is considered the primary benefit, followed by personal productivity and a reduction in commuting time.

Build your cloud | Solutions Brief

Start building a profitable cloudCitrix cloud solutions are already driving success for some of the biggest brands in the world, with over 100 commercial clouds that are collectively generating well over $1 billion in revenue today. Major Service Providers and Telcos around the globe like SoftLayer and Tata Communications are building public and private IaaS clouds. Web 2.0 companies like Zynga and Netflix are running core business services on Citrix-powered clouds. Similarly, enterprises are connecting their on-premise private clouds to Citrix-powered public cloud services for workloads such as dev/test, big data, training and demos, production applications and other workloads. No other cloud platform in the industry even comes close.

But the cloud isn’t all about technology. Citrix understands that your business is unique with challenges and requirements different from the enterprise customers you serve. We are here to partner with you to build not just your cloud infrastructure, but also your cloud business. We want to help you provide differentiated services on top of your cloud such as Windows apps and desktops, platform-as-a-service, monitoring and big data.

Now is the time for cloud and for you to take advantage of this tremendous business opportunity. Citrix can help get you there – quickly and profitably. Let’s work together to build a solution that’s right for you and your customers.

2Build your cloud | Solutions Brief

Cloud-based Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) is already a multi-billion dollar per year industry and growth is far from slowing. While Web 2.0 and Internet-centric businesses are at the forefront of the initial wave of cloud adoption, enterprise IT represents an even larger potential. But you don’t have years to wait.

To win your share of the market, you must quickly and efficiently establish a presence with differentiated cloud services. Citrix cloud solutions are powering some of the largest and most innovative providers in the world, from global Telcos to Managed Service Providers, from web hosting companies to regional cloud providers. Our experience with these cloud pioneers helped us deeply understand the unique needs and challenges that you face, from both a technology and business perspective.

Proven cloud solution for your businessWhen it comes to building clouds, service providers must offer more than just the basics like resource pooling, on-demand self-service, rapid elasticity, automation and multi-tenancy. You need to monetize and productize cloud services while still responding to new customer demands and changing business models. You must deliver seemingly infinite scale and choice, allowing resources to be consumed through storefronts, APIs and open architectures. Private cloud services require isolation from shared public infrastructures and hybrid clouds must transparently and securely bridge enterprise datacenters to your cloud. You need to do all this, and you need to do it now.

Your cloud solution should do all of this and more:

•Speed time to market – establish your cloud presence quickly by using a turn-key solution that is purpose built and is already the proven choice for service providers

• Increase profitability and return on investment – grow your average revenue per user (ARPU) and scale efficiently without adding more staff just to keep pace with the growth

•Extend existing investments – leverage existing infrastructure and automate current services and systems such as billing and customer relationship management (CRM) within your cloud

•Deliver a range of cloud services – tap into enterprise budgets by providing what customers want, including hybrid clouds, seamless access, flexibility, ease of use and infrastructure choice

Cloud-enabling the federal service provider | White Paper

Integrating public and private clouds with Citrix CloudBridge

Citrix® CloudBridge™ sits at the “back door” of enterprise datacenters, making it easy for them to connect to extra capacity in the cloud in the most secure, optimized way possible.

CloudBridge capabilities include:

• IaaS “cloud catalog” within NetScaler: Leading cloud providers worldwide will be “pre-certified” for supporting CloudBridge, giving enterprises a validated list of cloud datacenters worldwide that can be easily tapped for additional capacity.

•Simple, “one-sided” setup: Wizard-driven automation between CloudBridge and leading cloud providers makes it easy for enterprises to extend their networks from within the CloudBridge user interface.

Mobility and desktop delivery with Citrix Receiver, Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix XenApp and Citrix XenClient

Effectively and securely use any device with Citrix Receiver

Citrix Receiver is a high-performance, universal client technology that enables service providers to deliver virtual desktops, Windows, web and SaaS applications and content as an on-demand service to users on any device. With Receiver, IT has complete control over security, performance and user experience, with no need to own or manage the physical device or its location.

Follow-me data

Follow-me data services enable content to be local to a device or situation, allowing offline usage, synchronization and usage when network conditions are degraded. Follow-me data is integrated with Receiver and managed by Citrix® XenDesktop®. Follow-me data services increase the ability to work from anywhere, ensuring documents and e-mail are appropriately available and protected.

NetScaler vs F52048-bit SSL performance challengeCitrix® NetScaler® and F5 Networks® VIPRION® solutions are leading application delivery controllers (ADC) that provide advanced layer 4-7 traffic management and load balancing. Each solution can offload computationally expensive SSL processing responsibilities from web and application servers to speed the delivery of SSL-protected applications. Yet these ADCs are far from equal.

Mobile Workstyles

Personal Cloud

Cloud Services

Private and Public Cloud

Figure 1. A new perspective for the Cloud Era.

In the Cloud Era, mobile workstyles and cloud services are highly interdependent. Powerful mobile devices, backed by even more powerful cloud services, are connecting sales teams with prospects, delivering critical status information to executives, and putting everything from email and business apps to streaming video in the hands of users. Together, mobile workstyles and cloud services empower employees, customers and partners to work together anytime and anywhere.

While two clouds are displayed in Figure 1, there are actually three important clouds to consider in this model:

1. Personal cloud. The personal cloud encompasses mobile workstyles and is the new desktop for users, bringing together the applications, data and collaboration capabilities they use daily in both their work and personal lives. It empowers users to work and collaborate the way they wish—anywhere, anytime and on any device—including Windows, Mac, tablets and smartphones.

2. Private cloud. The private cloud is the collection of on-premise infrastructure, desktops, applications and data delivered on demand by enterprise IT. Private clouds can also be hosted off-premise. In this case, a service provider offers a portion of its public infrastructure for exclusive use by a single customer, also known as a tenant.

3. Public cloud. The public cloud is the collection of off-premise, multi-tenant infrastructure, storage and computing resources, as well as SaaS applications and data, which are delivered on demand by external cloud service providers. Public clouds allow multiple customers, or tenants, to share the underlying resources with each paying only for the resources it consumes.

Hybrid clouds are formed when private and public clouds are closely integrated, delivering IT services with the security, control and agility users demand. Since enterprise IT organizations are focused heavily on hybrid clouds, they are represented as a single, converged cloud in Figure 1.

Benefits of a converged cloud strategyPublic and private clouds both provide a number benefits. These include rapid provisioning, self-service, flexibility, agility and elasticity. At the same time, each type of cloud offers unique advantages of its own. Enterprise IT organizations that

Project Spotlight: Ultimate Plug-InsThe ‘Ultimate’ series represented a major step forward for Legendary Games in terms of both length and depth. It also was the first project in which I was able to collaborate with the artists from start to finish on custom requests and our customer base (more specifically our bottom line) surged in response to the increased overall dynamism in our brands look and feel.
