NATIONALCONVENTION
16 17 18OCTOBER 2014
For every challenge we faced this year, we tried and were able to find solutions and alterna-tives.Besides the challenges there were also some realizations. The most significant realization was that we need to develop and enhance our leadership skills on all levels of our organi-zations. A great step in tackling this was the 2014 Leadership and Development Academy. This development should continue for years to come, where respect, trust, commitment and integrity must become the pillars of this Na-tional Organization. These are the initial blocks for building a stronger organization. If we want to unite all sectors of the society to create sustainable impact, we have to empow-er our members to develop and grow as Lead-ers and Active Citizens of our Community. The Active Citizen Framework is a tool that provides direction on how we can look for the needs of the community and translate these into sustainable solutions and alternatives for challenges that our community is facing.JCI as partner of the United Nations is invit-ing us to collaborate and look for solutions and alternatives to the United Nation Millennium Development Goals. But are we prepared for
2015? What are our challenges for 2015? How will we unite as a team to make the difference? We need to take action in the upcoming years and provide the opportunity for future leaders to develop themselves in all levels of our or-ganization and community, in order to create positive change in our community.Every moment of our lives, we are making de-cisions so we can lead ourselves to be better. We can do the same to make our community better. Let’s evaluate 2014 and learn from the chal-lenges we had. And in 2015 let’s show commit-ment and responsibility to enhance our Nation-al Organization. “It’s better to be prepared and not have the op-portunity, than to have the opportunity and not be prepared.“ – Whitney M. Young Thank you and enjoy our 2014 National Con-vention. Kind regards,
Evaristo Gerard2014 President

BECOME INTENTIONAL INTO GROWING AS A LEADER!
SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIPA HYBRID SOLUTION FOR OUR REALITY?What is the social and economic reality of our community during recent years? How does that affect us? During this training we will use social and economic figures and recent data to analyze the reality of our communities and the social-economic situation we live in. After putting all in perspective we will identify opportunities including business opportunities and opportunities to create social change. We will take you down the path of Social Entrepreneurship.Social Entrepreneurship describes the discovery and sustainable exploitation of opportunities to create public goods. Is Social Entrepreneurship the solution of the future?
LEADERSHIP TRAININGS
John Maxwell says “everything rises and falls on leadership”. The importance of leading companies, organizations, government, countries but also our family is obviously a huge responsibility. What is really a leader? What are the indispensable quali-ties of a leader?
What is required of me to be a leader? Around leadership, there are a lot of questions and ques-tion marks.
Join us during this half-day event to move into fur-ther growth and development of your leadership skills. We will dive into some laws and indispen-sable qualities of leadership and into some invalu-able laws of growth that are important for our per-sonal development. Leaders have a responsibility, they cannot stop growing.
