Party On!Welcome to Choice Affairs 2014

We invite you to join us for ChoiCe AffAirs 2014…the 25th anniversary of this signature fund-raiser for Planned Parenthood of Santa Barbara, Ventura and San Luis Obispo Counties. We are celebrating this milestone with a collection of 30 wonderful events. Some of these have been perennial favorites, reminding us of the fun and interesting opportunities offered during our first fabulous 25 years. Others, as our theme “PARTY ON!” suggests, are new and exciting events. These are being offered for the first time as we begin our next quarter-century of providing support for funding the programs and services that Planned Parenthood Health Centers offer to women, men and families in our communities. As in the past, we have had a rewarding, fun-filled time collaborating with our many friends, volunteers and supporters who helped to bring you these terrific ChoiCe AffAirs. We are indebted to each and every MoCA (Mothers of ChoiCe AffAirs) whose efforts and commitments made it possible to plan and execute all of the events that have been offered during the past 25 years. Our most sincere gratitude to the Cheeryble Foundation, which generously underwrote the production cost of this booklet. In addition to the many hosts and event underwriters, we thank our special supporters: Susan and Stephen Robeck, Carol Hillygus-Irving and Blake Irving, Carol Fell, Roz McGrath and Charlotte Williams. Many thanks, too, to our editor, Nancy Davidson, and our writers, Arianna Jansma, Eric O’Dowd and Susan Robeck, and especially to our booklet designer, Chris Flannery, who once again has done a remarkable job of translating our design ideas into reality. Our very special thanks to Meggan McCarthy, Planned Parenthood ChoiCe AffAirs Event Coordinator, for her professional guidance, her patience and her tireless efforts to keep us organized.Kicking off our 25th anniversary celebration this year is a new, energizing and informative beach walk with local historian Neal Graffy. We end the season with the ever-popular behind-the-scenes experience at Hearst Castle®. In between, there will be lots of other opportunities to PARTY ON! –join the fun at a Moveable Feast, experience local culture, visit unique estates and gardens, make your own jewelry or hop aboard the Silver Splendor for a train ride up the Gaviota coast. There are many ways and many reasons to celebrate this year, so don’t miss out on the chance to party into the future with us—the tickets do sell quickly. The continuing success of ChoiCe AffAirs is due almost entirely to your ongoing support…and we thank you.

So join us, have fun and let’s PARTY ON!
