A Gift to the Annual Fund Strengthens Our Community

A School as Strong as its Community

Since the cost to provide a well-rounded, dynamic, independent school experience exceeds tuition, the unrestricted funds raised through Annual Giving are critical to keeping class sizes small, enhancing curriculum, and offering a full slate of extracurricular options. Here are examples of how your support may benefit Harvey:

■ $100 to rent a theater costume or purchase a ukulele, ■ $250 for a teacher to attend a full-day workshop at the New York State Association of Independent Schools,

■ $500 to send a teacher to a two-day leadership workshop out-of-state, ■ $1,500 to replace the weights, balls and accessories in Fitness Center, ■ $2,000 to purchase materials for students to design and build a theatrical set, ■ $3,000 to purchase additional video cameras and accessories, ■ $3,000 to replace uniforms for one athletic team, or ■ $5,000 for tuition assistance to allow a student to attend Harvey.

Gifts of All Sizes Are Appreciated and Make a Difference

A Strong Community,Getting Stronger

We All Play a Vital Role

As we approach 2016, we hope to celebrate Harvey’s 100th anniversary with 100 percent participation in the Annual Fund from current families as well as faculty, staff and trustees.

Show Your Commitment to a Vibrant Harvey Community

A school is only as strong as its community—and Harvey has a robust community. Last year, 100 percent of faculty, staff and trustees donated to the Annual Fund. An impressive 92 percent of current parents, including many whose families receive financial aid, also contributed. We invite all members of the Harvey community to contribute to the Annual Fund because every contribution is a symbol of our shared commitment to make Harvey a small school with great opportunities for every student.

Teachers devote themselves to inspiring students in the classroom, on the athletic fields, in the arts studios, and through extracurricular activities. The enthusiastic participation of faculty and staff in the Annual Fund is representative of how strongly they believe in bringing the Harvey mission alive for students.

Parents promote expectations for excellence through their support of students at home and engagement with the school community.

Alumni pay it forward because they know first-hand how important it is to ensure a Harvey education for future generations.

Grandparents and other friends of the school recognize the transformative power of a Harvey education both for their extended families and the broader world.

When every group connected to a school engages wholeheartedly in that educational community, students feel that swell of support. They thrive on that trust and confidence. They dive into the opportunities presented to them. And they make good on that investment.

For nearly three decades, Headmaster Barry Fenstermacher has strengthened the Harvey community. His astute and stable leadership has reinforced Harvey’s academics, balanced our athletics and arts programs, created first-class college guidance, and built quality middle and high school programs that position The Harvey School and its students for success.
