Studies
Adam Phillips in memory of Jane Brodie
by Eileen HoganThis portrait is of the writer Adam Phillips, who is a mutual friend of Eileen Hogan and Jane Brodie, who asked for the paintings to be made. The sittings took place in Hogan’s studio with the natural light reflected from the white houses outside.

YOUR OPINION AND AN EVALUATION OF THE SELF-PORTRAIT PROJECT
I think that this project went well, however there were some difficulties within this project. I liked the visit to the National
Portrait Gallery as we had to draw some studies and I thought that this has helped me by looking at the composition of paintings and
what techniques the artist have used.
What I found difficult with this project was trying to create a detailed study of the style of your chosen artist and also trying to
paint in the style of the artists.
