    COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

    iPADS, iPHONES, TABLETS OH MY?!

    Did your kids or grandkids get you some kind of new technology for Christmas? Maybe you received a

    new phone, Ipad, or a tablet? (Lucky you!) Or maybe your kids and grandkids bring over their devices

    and confuse you to no end? Do you want to surprise them the next time they visit, or learn a new toolfor yourself?

    This class will work you through the most basic applications, vocabulary, and accessories of you or your

    familys devices. Focus will be on iPhones, iPads, iPods; but is not limited to other devices such as

    tablets and E readers. If you yourself dont need help, but know someone who does, give the class as

    a gift to them!

    You will need to bring along a device of your choosing and a REAL tablet and pen to take notes.

    However, after you attend the class, you may see that pen and paper will soon be a thing of the past!

    Dont be afraid! Attend one or both classes and learn something new every time!

    Location: WEST MANHEIM ELEMENTARY SCHOOLROOM 300

    Class Size: Limit to 20 studentsAges 30ish to 99 and scared or confused of new Technology!

    Sessions: Two - 2 hour classes (1sthour is lessons, 2ndhour is supervised exploration)

    Dates: Session 1: January 20 and January 22, 2015

    Session 2: February 4 and February 11, 2015

    Time: 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm

    Cost: $40/per person (Includes both nights)

    Materials Needed: Access to iPad, iPhone, Tablet, or Smartphone with at least Wifi Connection.

    UNDERSTANDING SOCIAL MEDIA

    Youve heard of social media now finally figure out what it all means! Ever want to connect with old

    friends, family, loved ones through social media but are just too scared to dive right in? Want to hear

    what your favorite celebrates are talking about? Follow them on twitter! Post pictures for your family

    to keep up to date with your life? Have interests but ran out of ideas, well explore PINTREST!

    This class will allow you to set up accounts, learn about social media and how it all works, and will help

    you connect with the outside world more than you could ever have imagined! Bring your devices and

    try something new! (Class will focus on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pintrest). You do not

    have to have an account for these sights or even sign up for one during the class, just come and learnabout the social media buzz!

    YOGA 101

    This all levels Yoga classincludes a combination of exercises to lengthen, strengthen, and calm the mindbody and spirit. Judy who is a RYT 200 (registered yoga teacher), YogaFit Level 1, Level 2, Post and Pre

    Natal Yoga Teacher will guide you through this agent form of exercise. These exercises will help to ease

    back and joint pain, lower cholesterol and blood pressure, increase energy, the immune system and

    metabolism, and much more. Whether you are a beginning exerciser, athlete, golfer, stressed parent, or

    need a change in your exercise routine this is the class for you! Join Judy for Yoga 101 and start looking,

    feeling, sleeping better and losing weight, inches, and stress today!

    Start your week with a one hour blast!!!!! Dance your

    way to a healthier you. Zumba fitness uses Latin and

    international rhythms along with easy to follow

    routines to blast calories, tone muscles, and burn fat.

    AQUA ZUMBA

    Zumba pool party, the Aqua Zumba program gives new meaning to the idea of an

    invigorating workout. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional

    aqua fitness disciplines, the Aqua Zumba class blends it all together into a safe,

    challenging, water-based workout thats cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most

    of all, exhilarating beyond belief.

    COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

    S.W. WELDING ACADEMY

    GMAW (MIG) BEGINNER AND ADV.with professors, Ken Kirkpatrick, CEO ofKLK Welding and Bruce Lee, welding

    instructor at SWHS.

    This course is designed to teach industry principles of welding and

    cutting with emphasis on hands-on-instruction. A customized

    welding class for the beginner to the advanced welder, where

    learners have a choice in welding processes based on individual

    needs. Instruction includes welding safety, theory and welding techniques utilizing common welding

    processes in the areas of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), GasTungsten Arc Welding (TIG), Oxyacetylene cutting and Plasma cutting. Welding and cutting position skills

    taught are based on student skill level and desired occupational needs. This course will meet Monday

    and Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM 8:30 PM for 16 weeks. Students are required to supply their

    own welding safety apparel. Opportunity to purchase required welding safety apparel, attendance

    requirements and required textbook/workbook will be explained the first evening of class. A certificate

    of completion will be awarded at the end of the semester. Cost for the class is $950.00

    South Western senior high school students can receive one (1) high school credit upon successful

    completion of the class.

    Course Number: SWWI2015:08

    Location: SOUTH WESTERN HIGH SCHOOLROOM S-2 (Metal Lab)

    Instructors: Ken Kirkpatrick, CEO of KLK Welding, Inc.

    Bruce Lee, South Western High School Metal Lab Teacher

    Class Size: Minimum of 5 participants

    Session: Sixteen Weeks, 2 evenings per week, 2-1/2 hour class each evening

    Dates: Monday and Wednesday evenings starting on January 12, 2015

    Time: 6:00 PM8:30 PM

    Cost: $950/per person

    (Certificate of Completion will be awarded at the end of the class)
