COMPETITIVE FACILITIESFRESNO STATE AQUATICS CENTERThe Fresno State Aquatics Center, constructed in 2011, is one of the premier aquatics venues within central California. The facility features a 50 meter by 25 yard competition pool with a moveable bulkhead, 1 meter and 3 meter diving platforms, a warming whirlpool for divers, a dryland practice area, a 44 foot by 60 foot pool for kinesiology classes, in addition to offi ces and a conference room for the swimming staff.

BEIDEN FIELDFresno State’s Pete Beiden Field is one of the premier college ballparks in the country and home to the 2008 College World Series Champion Bulldogs. The facility was built in 1966 and redesigned in 1983. It features 3,575 theater-style seats, a spacious press box, locker rooms, new restrooms and concession stands, offi ces for the coaching staff, indoor and outdoor batting cages and six mounds inside two bullpens.

BULLDOG STADIUMBulldog Stadium has established itself as one of the most diffi cult places to win for visiting teams. One of the premier stadiums in the Mountain West, Bulldog Stadium seats 41,031 fans and features 22 sky suites. In 2004, Bulldog Stadium was voted one of the 25 best college football stadiums by CBSSportsline.com.

BULLDOG DIAMONDRegarded as one of the fi nest softball facilities in the country, Bulldog Diamond boasts a seating capacity of 3,288. The stadium features 1,688 permanent seat-back chairs that include 388 box seats, a beautiful grass berm that surrounds the outfi eld fence, sunken dugouts, lights, concessions stands, restrooms, practice areas, indoor and outdoor batting cages and one of the most spacious press boxes in all of college softball.

FRESNO GOLF COURSESWith the wide array of golf courses in close proximity to the Fresno State campus, Bulldog golfers have the opportunity to refi ne their skills at some of California’s fi nest clubs. San Joaquin CC hosted the NCAA Championship fi nal, WAC Championships and U.S. Mid-Amateur; Sunnyside CC hosted the 1981 U.S. Junior Amateur and California State Junior Championship; and Fort Washington CC hosted two PGA Tour qualifi ers. The offi cial practice course is Riverbend Golf Club.

THE RICCHIUTI ACADEMIC CENTER The Ricchiuti Academic Center, benefi ting all student-athletes, provides study tables, tutorial and computer labs, plus offi ce suites for the academic advisors and compliance personnel. One of the newest additions to the Fresno State athletics complex, this facility is a cornerstone where student-athletes can be served and is a focal point of the new Student-Athlete Village, a part of Fresno State’s master facility plan.

SAVE MART CENTERThe $100 million plus facility opened in November 2003 with a seating capacity of 15,596. It contains 32 private suites, a club level concourse, team locker rooms and athletics training facilities. With its size, scope, unique architectural features and state-of-the-art video, sound and telecom systems, the center will serve as the major provider of entertainment and home of Bulldog men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball programs.

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING CENTERThe 10,000 square-foot weight room facility houses a host of free weights, as well as, a variety of modern fi tness equipment. The spacious room is equipped with 25,000 pounds of Olympic weights. A long list of Bulldog athletes have been voted as a National Strength and Conditioning Association All-Americans. The strength and conditioning program at Fresno State is ergonomically designed for the greatest effi ciency and safety.

SPALDING G. WATHEN TENNIS CENTERThe Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center is one of the premier facilities in the west and has become a key fi xture in the recent success of the Bulldog men’s and women’s tennis teams. Host to numerous NCAA and conference postseason tournaments, the Wathen Center boasts approximately 400 luxury chair-back seats atop the platform that face the complex’s six main courts, making for easy viewing of all six courts.

The facility features 20 stalls in a main barn and an additional 20 in an adjacent pipe barn. All horse-related activities sponsored by the department are held at the horse center, which also features two adjacent large arenas and bleacher and burm seating for fans, as well as a permanent scoreboard.

FRESNO STATE SOCCER & LACROSSE FIELDThe Fresno State Soccer & Lacrosse Field was built in 2009 with the installation of fencing and landscaping around the perimeter of the venue. A permanent scoreboard, sound system, along with spectator seating is scheduled for installation in the coming months, with a permanent pressbox, additional fi xed seating and other amenities planned for installation in the following seasons. The playing surface is a hybrid Bermuda grass blend.

BULLDOG STADIUM FIELDTURF PROJECTFresno State student-athletes play on the very best in turf technology with the installation of the FieldTurf Revolution system at Bulldog Stadium in 2011. FieldTurf’s Revolution fi ber technology is the result of innovative science, engineering and technology that will provide FieldTurf customers with a soft, strong monofi lament fi ber with extraordinary durability and longevity. With a consistent surface for year-round use, the new addition to Bulldog Stadium demonstrated the university’s and community’s commitment to safety and sustainability as the Bulldogs compete as one of the nation’s elite programs.

MEYERS FAMILY SPORTS MEDICINE CENTERThe Sports Medicine Center will be a 10,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that is designed to enhance the health and welfare of all Bulldog student-athletes. This unique and essential facility will allow for preventative medicine, nutritional counseling, physician examination, injury treatment, on-site x-ray and rehabilitation services, and suffi cient offi ce and counseling space to support the Fresno State sports medicine staff and physicians group. The Sports Medicine Center will serve as the third cornerstone of Fresno State’s “Student-Athlete Village,” designed to provide Bulldog student-athletes with a single and secure facility intended to assist their well-being, development, and achievement. No single facility will have a more positive effect on the daily physical well-being and lives of Bulldog student-athletes.

EQUESTRIAN & SOFTBALL SCOREBOARDSIn 2012, Fresno State added new scoreboards at two of its athletic venues - Bulldog Diamond and the Student Horse Center. The new scoreboard at the Bulldog Diamond came as a result of a planned gift to the Fresno State softball program from Vonnie Fogard, a long-time season ticket holder and member of the Bulldog Softball Diamond Club. The new Daktronics LED matrix color scoreboard replaces the old matrix board that was fi rst installed when Bulldog Diamond was built in 1996. Meanwhile at the Student Horse Center, the scoreboard is the fi rst to ever be installed at an NCEA (National Collegiate Equestrian Association) Equestrian venue. The project was spearheaded by the Saddle Club, the equestrian team booster club, who raised all funding exclusively through private funds. The electronic scoreboard is a 5’ x 12’ Daktronics LED.

The goal of the Fresno State Student-Athlete Services (SAS) Offi ce is to help student-athletes successfully manage academic responsibilities and complete their baccalaureate degrees while they maintain athletic eligibility.

WHO WE ARE AND WHO WE SERVEThe SAS staff includes a director, professional academics advisors, a learning specialist, graduate interns and tutors in a variety of subject areas. Each staff member is trained to deal with the special needs of student-athletes and works with all prospective, current and former student-athletes. Each student-athlete is assigned an academic advisor who works with that individual throughout his or her collegiate career.

ACADEMIC ASSISTANCESAS provides academic assistance through the following specialized services:– Academic advising for declared and undeclared majors– Monitoring class selection, course load, attendance, and progress– Study hall, tutorial assistance, and computer access and support– Classes on academic success strategies for new student-athletes– Individual counseling and referral services for student-athletes with learning disabilities, study skills defi cits, career uncertainties and personal concerns– Encouragement toward involvement in community activities such as Red Ribbon Week and the Little Heroes Program with Children’s Hospital of Central California

LIFE SKILLS DEVELOPMENTThe CHAMPS program is designed to help student-athletes learn life management principles, develop lifelong learning and leadership skills and continue a pattern of personal and interpersonal growth. Throughout their enrollment at Fresno State, student-athletes are provided services which help them identify and achieve their educational, career, personal and athletic goals. Included in the CHAMPS program is a three-unit class for freshmen called University 1. The class provides an orientation to campus resources and teaches effective study skills in a number of areas including time management, note taking, reading comprehension, memory skills and test taking. Life skills development topics include nutrition, sports and drugs, career exploration and goal setting.

ACADEMIC COUNSELING AND ENRICHMENT PROGRAM (ACE)The ACE Program is designed to meet the special academic needs of student-athletes with more specifi c learning challenges. Coordinated by the department’s Learning Assistance Specialist, participants in the program are provided with specialized tutorial assistance and study skills development in addition to weekly accountability meetings, workshops on various life skills issues, assistance with accommodations and personal counseling or referral when necessary.

SUMMER SCHOOL ASSISTANCE SAS administers the summer session scholarship program, which allows our student-athletes the opportunity to take additional courses toward graduation and accelerate their degree completion.

POST-ELIGIBILITY PROGRAMSStudent-Athlete Services also oversees the Post-Eligibility Scholarship program designed to assist student-athletes who have completed their athletic eligibility in reaching their graduation goal. Scholarship awards are given to those who have been on athletic aid, are in good academic standing and are within 30 units of completing their degrees.

NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS BANQUETFresno State’s Night of Champions highlights the successes of the athletes from the previous season both on the fi eld and in the classroom. Team champions, individual champions, and various academic award honorees all earned recognition in a night truly meant for champions.

Within a short time after starting the Fresno State women’s golf program, head coach Angie Cates-Moore had her team competing for WAC championships and getting into the NCAA tournament.

Cates-Moore has twice won the WAC Coach of the Year Award, most recently in 2008 after leading the Dogs to the WAC championship and the school’s first NCAA tournament appearance in the sport.

WOMEN’S GOLFFORT WASHINGTON C.C.Built on hilly terrain, the Fort Washington course was redesigned by Robert Baldock in 1956. The narrow course with eucalyptus-lined fairways has a defined cut of rough that makes shot accuracy essential. The club was once the site of the final stage for PGA Tour Qualifying and has been a past host to the old Ben Hogan Tour.

RIVERBEND GOLF CLUBDesigned by prominent golf course architect Gary Roger Baird, the Riverbend Golf Club opened for play in 1999. Located along the banks of the San Joaquin River, the course contains a number of valley oaks and water features while offering a scenic view of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Riverbend has served as host to a number of nationally recognized amateur and national tournaments and has hosted notable PGA and LPGA golfers Arnold Palmer, Peter Jacobsen, Craig Stadler, Nancy Lopez, Michelle McGann and Julie Inkster.

RIVERSIDE GOLF COURSEThe Riverside Golf Course was built in 1939 as a Works Progress Administration project and was designed by western architect W.P. Bell. Located along the San Joaquin River, the parkland style course features small greens and vast tree-lined fairways that stretch over gently rolling terrain. The course annually plays host to the Fresno City Championships.

PGA Tour winner and internationally renowned golf course designer, a Miller designed every facet of the 18-hole course, which lies in a Millerton Lake and Sierra Foothill setting, winding among oak forests and granite rock croppings. Opened in 1990, this award-winning golf course quickly grabbed the attention of Valley golfers with its top 10 ranking by California Golf.

COPPER RIVER C.C. The Copper River Country Club features an 18-hole, par 72 champion-ship golf course designed by architect David Pfaff. The course, set up on the undulating terrain of the Sierra Nevada base, features water on seven of the 18 holes. Since no two fairways on this course are parallel, golfers are able to enjoy their round and the view of the mountains and clubhouse.

With the wide array of golf courses in close proximity to the Fresno State campus, Bulldog golfers have the opportunity to refine their skills on Fresno’s finest courses, all of which offer a variety of challenging layouts and conditions. “Fresno State is fortunate to have the opportunity to play excellent golf courses within 25 minutes of campus,” women’s head coach Angie Cates-Moore said. “Having such a wide variety of courses to play affords us the opportunity to choose the course that will best prime us for the next tournament. This is a huge advantage for our players.” “We’ve got the short courses and the long courses. We’ve got hills, courses with big greens, small greens and

HOPES FOR A SUCCESSFUL SPRINGWITH THE 2012-13 SEASON IN FULL SWING, THE FRESNO STATE WOMEN’S GOLF TEAM WRAPPED UP THE FALL SEASON WITH A TEAM TITLE AND ENTER THE SPRING SEASON WITH HOPES OF ANOTHER.

The Fresno State women’s golf teamed opened the 2012-13 season with three top five individual finishes and one team title as they prepared for their first season in MW.

The Bulldogs teed off the fall season at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic in Fort Collins, Colo. The ’Dogs then traveled to Sammamish, Wash. and competed in the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational at the Sahalee Country Club.

Upon a hard battle on the Sahalee Country Club golf course, the Bulldogs continued to fight at the Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Springs. Their determination and will played an effect as they took home their first team title of the season. While in Palm Springs, the ’Dogs made a tournament record with a total score of 885. The Bulldogs took home more than just the team title as sophomore Madchen Ly finished in second place and junior Christine Uhalde finished in third place.

Following their victory, the Bulldogs wrapped up the spring season with tough competition and extreme wind conditions at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.

“The win in Palm Springs was very exciting and we hope to continue that success in the Spring,” head coach Angie Cates-Moore said. “We saw a lot of great competition in the Fall and played some tough courses. That experience will help us in the Spring. “

Bulldogs Ly, Hannah Sodersten and Christine Uhalde rank in the MW top 20 and each played in all 12 rounds of the fall season.

Sodersten, the lone freshman, is a local Fresno native and has proved to be an asset to the Bulldogs in just one season. Sodersten recorded her best tournament score at the Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate after firing six over par and finished in a tie for fifth place. Sodersten additionally made the top 25 in two of the four tournaments she competed in during the fall.

“We knew Hannah was going to have an immediate impact on our program,” said Cates-Moore.

“She had great success in High School and the transition has gone smooth for her. She had a good Fall season, but it could have been better and she knows that. She is very dedicated and will work hard during the off season and will continue to improve this Spring. We are all happy she’s a Bulldog.”

The Bulldogs tee off their spring season at the Peg Barnard Invitational hosted by Stanford. The ’Dogs then trek to another three tournaments out of town, which include the Cal Classic at the Ruby Hill Golf Club, the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational hosted by San Jose and the Anuenue Spring Break Classic in Kapalua, Maui.

As the Bulldogs near the end of the spring season, they will host the annual Fresno State Lexus Classic at Copper River Country Club. The Bulldogs then wrap up the spring season at the MW Conference Championship in Rancho Mirage, Calif. The ’Dogs will face their MW foes and hope to bring home a championship title.

“We have a very solid schedule traveling to Stanford, Cal, Hawaii etc,” Cates-Moore said. “We know what we need to work hard on to have success and I’m confident we will see those improvements pay off in the Spring.”

The conclusion of the spring season will say a final goodbye to Senior Shaylee Yano. Yano fired her best score of the season at the Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate where she posted a +12 over 75-72-81.

“Shaylee is such a competitor and we know she wants to finish her collegiate career on a high note,” Cates-Moore said. “If she focuses on the process and lets the results just happen it will be a good Spring for her. She has to be careful and not put too much pressure on herself or expectations. It’s hard to believe this is her last season. Her entire family have been a big part of our program since we started 9 years ago. Her older sister Whitney played for us as well and their family have been great supporters of our team. We will miss all of them.”

All-WAC for the fourth consecutive year as well as the WAC Player of the

Year. She also took home the individual title at the WAC Championship and Cates-Moore earned her second WAC Coach of the Year honor.

Coach Cates-Moore has led her teams to five tournament titles, two of which were won at their annual Fresno State Lexus Classic in just three years after its inception.

Cates-Moore has proven her coaching abili-ties with her freshmen recruits continuing to make a big impact on her teams. For the 2005-06 season, her recruits added a huge boost to the program and helped rank Fresno State in the Top 25 for freshman class impact. Cates-Moore led 10 of her 12 players to earn a 3.0 GPA or better and were recognized at the Kiwanis Torch of Excellence.

During Fresno State’s inaugural 2004-05 sea-

son, Cates-Moore wasted no time striv-ing for excellence as the women’s golf team captured seven top-five finishes which include placing fourth at the WAC Champion-ship. In addition to leading her team to two tournament titles, Cates-Moore was named the 2005 WAC Coach of the Year.

Under her watch, the Bulldogs were on the cusp of an NCAA berth as a first-year program. Cates-Moore coached then-freshman Laura Luethke to a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Western Regional as well as three individual tournament titles. Her team again excelled in the classroom, as seven of her golfers were named Fresno State Scholar-Athletes and four earned WAC Scholar-Athletes honors.

Before joining the Bulldogs, Cates-Moore served as an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s golf teams at Oregon State. While at Oregon State, she helped both the men’s and women’s teams advance to the

In her ninth season as the head coach of the Fresno State women’s golf team,

Angie Cates-Moore has established a stan-dard of excellence both on and off the course. Cates-Moore has led her team to a WAC Championship, 35 top-five finishes, includ-ing placing first on five occasions, and was

twice named WAC Coach of the Year. In the classroom, the program has pro-duced 25 Academic All-WAC honors, 12 of which came in the past two seasons, and 13 All-American Scholars.

Coach Cates-Moore has been with the pro-gram since its start in 2004 and has taken it to new heights in the short amount of time. The program drew attention during the 2007-08 season by winning the WAC Championship and advancing to the NCAA West Regional.

Last season, Cates-Moore guided the squad to a third place finish at the WAC Championship. She also coached Fresh-men Madchen Ly to a first team All-WAC selection as well as Louisa Lies and Christine Uhalde to a second-team All-WAC selection. With the addition of these selections, the Bulldogs have earned 14th All-WAC honors.

Cates-Moore saw her team steadily improve over the 2009-10 season which was highlighted by senior Hali Coppin claiming the WAC individual title along with being named to the All-WAC first-team. Under Cates-Moore, the 2008-09 squad placed third at the WAC Championship for

their third top-three finish in five seasons.

During the team’s historic season in 2007-08, Cates-Moore guided her team to its first NCAA West Regional bid where they finished in 18th place at Lincoln Hills Golf Clubin Northern California. Laura Luethke was named first-team

Sarah is entering her seventh year as an athletic trainer at Fresno State and fourth year with the women’s golf program. She joined the staff in 2005 as an intern working with wrestling and softball. Since 2006, Tackett has worked with women’s soccer and women’s golf.

Her primary responsibilities include working with both golf programs. She also oversees drug maintenance and she teaches in the Kinesiology Department at Fresno State.

Tackett earned a bachelor’s degree in athletic training at Oklahoma State and completed a master’s degree in kinesiology from Fresno State.

2003 NCAA Regional Championships. She served as the tournament director for the 2003 Women’s

and the 2002 Men’s Pac-10 Championship tourna-ments. She coordinated team practices, recruiting and travel in addition to directing the academic programs, camps and clinics for both teams. Cates-Moore also assisted with scheduling and budget development and organized fundraising projects.

A native of Dallas, Cates-Moore played at Washington State where she was a stellar student-athlete, earning All-American Scholar-Athlete honors three times. She represented the Pac-10 on an All-Star team that toured Asia and was named a team captain for the Cougars as a senior. An accomplished player, Cates-Moore won the Seattle City Amateur and Washington State Ama-teur Championships. Subsequently, she was granted a sponsor’s exemption to play in the LPGA Safeco Clas-sic in Seattle that same year. She played professionally

from 2000-03 on the Challenge and Future Tours, claiming second place in the Telluride Classic.

Following graduation, Cates-Moore worked for three years at The Golf Channel as an associate producer. She conducted interviews with players from the PGA, LPGA, Nationwide and Championship Tours, in addition to producing features and working on live-television golf broadcasts.

Cates-Moore earned a bachelor’s degree in communi-cation with an emphasis in broadcast news from Wash-ington State’s Edward R. Murrow School of Communi-cation in 1998.

She is married to Travis Moore, the head golf profes-sional at San Joaquin Country Club, and they have a daughter, Addison.

Holly Bare is in her third year as the women’s golf volunteer assistant coach. A native of Myrtle Creek, Ore., Bare competed for Fresno State in 2004-05 during its inaugural year and graduated with a degree in Communications in 2005. Before joining the Bulldogs, she participated on Oregon State’s women’s golf team from 2002-04.

Some of her recent accomplishments include winning the Fresno Outlaw Cup Women’s Championship in 2008, competing in the USGA Women’s Mid-Am Championships in 2009 and 2010 and the USGA Women’s Public Links Championship in 2011 and most recently claiming the Fresno City Amateur Women’s Championship in 2011.

Bare graduated from Umpqua High School in 2000 and is currently a Financial Consultant with Thiesen Dueker Group/LPL Financial.

OPPONENTS DIRECTORY SEASON IN REVIEWFALL SEASON

The Bulldogs opened their fall season in September at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic in Fort Collins, Colo., where Alexis Edwards debut in her first tournament as interim head coach. The ’Dogs then traveled to Portland, Ore. for the Rose City Intercollegiate, where the team took second place and freshman Madchen Ly, playing in only her second collegiate tournament, took second place as well.

The ’Dogs then trekked to the desert for the Cowgirl Desert Intercol-legiate and placed second out of 15 teams, tying their best finish of the year. The Bulldogs carded the lowest score in both rounds of competi-tion, a 295 and 297, respectively. The first round 295 was their lowest round of the season. Ly fired her second top five finish with a fourth place performance and senior Louisa Lies placed fifth. Additionally two fellow Bulldogs placed in the top 25.

The Bulldogs wrapped up their fall season with another trip to the des-ert where the Bulldogs competed in the Las Vegas Collegiate Show-down. Junior Shaylee Yano posted a one-under, 71, her lowest round of the season, to tie for 17th place after day one. Ly also recorded her lowest round of the season with an even-par, 72.

SPRING SEASON The Bulldogs teed off the spring season at the Peg Barnard Invitational in Stanford, Calif. where sophomore Christine Uhalde took home her first individual tournament title and the Bulldogs finished in a tie for fourth place. Uhalde proceeded to win WAC Player of the Week as well as Sysco Student Athlete of the Week. The Bulldogs then traveled to San Jose to compete in the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational where the ’Dogs recorded the fourth lowest score in the final round.

The ’Dogs finally returned home to host the Fresno State Lexus Clas-sic. The Bulldogs battled 13 teams on their home field and finished in a tie for third. Bulldogs Uhalde and Yano recorded top ten finishes. Yano’s finish in a tie for seventh place marked her best finish of the season. The Bulldogs took an early spring break and headed to Hawai’i for the Anuenue Spring Break Classic on the island of Maui. Lies recorded her fifth top 20 finish of the season with a tie for 18th place.

The ’Dogs faced their final tournament of the spring season at the Pa-cific Coast Intercollegiate. The Bulldogs shot a season-low 294 during the final round, which then replaced their previous mark of 295 made at the Cowgirl Desert Invitational.

The Bulldogs concluded the spring season at the WAC Championship in Mesa, Ariz. where they carded a 38-over, 902 and took a third place finish. Lies, competing in her final tournament of her collegiate career, tied her best finish of the season with a tie for fifth place and made her third top 10 performance. At the conclusion of the tournament, Ly was named WAC Freshman of the Year and first-team all-WAC. Bulldogs Lies and Uhalde both earned second-team all-WAC honors.

FRESNO STATE LEXUS CLASSICThe Fresno State Lexus Classic – formerly the Kitahara Golf Classic – began in 2005 under the direction of Fresno State golf coach Angie Cates-Moore. In its young history, the tournament has become one of the premier golf tournaments in California. The tournament is annually held at the Copper River Country Club which features an 18-hole, par-72 layout. The country club has a great view of the mountains and a premier clubhouse which golfers are able to enjoy. During the inaugural year of the tournament Fresno State claimed a team championship and won the title again in 2007. Fresno State’s Taylor Siebert won the individual title with an even par, 144 in 2008.

Dr. John D. Welty has been president of California State University, Fresno since July 29, 1991. He is also a professor in the Kremen School of Education & Human Development. Fresno State enrolls more than 22,000 students and offers 61 undergraduate degrees, 45 master degree programs, and three doctoral degrees. The campus is located on 1,500 acres and academic programs are housed in eight colleges and schools. Since 1991 the University has become recognized as one of the nation’s best engaged universities, expanded minority enrollment, created an Honors College, revised its general education requirements, added new academic programs and institutes, and constructed $425 million in facilities, including a new $102 million library.

Since 1991 the University has introduced service learning into the curriculum and expanded community service opportunities for students, improved services for students, streamlined administrative processes, launched a major commitment to expand the use of information technology, earned membership in the Mountain West Conference, expanded intercollegiate Athletic opportunities and facilities for women, led the effort to build the Save Mart Center, and dramatically increased private fund raising and grant and

With a proven track record of strong leadership, integrity, sound academic values and athletics achievement, Thomas Boeh enters his 31st year of athletics administration, 18th year as an NCAA Division I-A Director of Athletics and eighth year at Fresno State, including leading the Bulldogs’ transition into the Mountain West Conference.

In July of 2005, Boeh was charged to stabilize, reform and revitalize the athletics program at Fresno State. As a result of this charge, the Department of Athletics has been entirely restructured with a new senior administrative team. Special emphasis has been placed upon a consistent and value-based approach to decision-making, as well as clearly delineating areas of responsibilities with built-in accountability. Considerable attention has been directed towards creating a progressive student-athlete environment and strict adherence to well-defi ned NCAA compliance protocols and standards.

New polices have been developed regarding student-athletes recruitment, oversight and welfare. The Student-Athlete Code of Conduct and Substance Abuse Educational and Testing Program have been reviewed and strengthened, and the Student-Athlete Advisory Council has been re-energized. Departmental and institutional protocols relative to admissions, fi nancial aid and eligibility have all been restructured in conjunction with campus leaders. Fresno State’s student-athletes have benefi ted signifi cantly from these measures and, in conjunction with enhanced support services, they have fostered a better-quality experience that is refl ected in greatly improved Academic Progress Rates, fewer Code of Conduct violations and extensive community service activity. Additionally, all athletics fundraising activities have been consolidated within the new Bulldog Foundation and philanthropic gifts to Athletics have risen to record levels.

Fresno State Athletics has been working closely with a nationally renowned consultant, a broad-based President-appointed ad hoc committee, and the Offi ce of Civil Rights to remedy all past gender equity issues and create at Fresno State a model Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) athletics program relative to Title IX compliance. One component of this effort is the addition of two new women’s sports; lacrosse and swimming & diving both began competition during the 2008-09 academic year. All athletics facilities have been evaluated and a 10-year master plan, inclusive of the “Athletics Mall” and “Student-Athlete Village” has been developed and introduced to the community. Several projects have been completed to date, including a state-of-art aquatics venue, and construction scheduled for another cornerstone project, a sports medicine center.

Fresno State’s competitive level continues to be among the leaders in conference and regional play, and several teams have achieved national

contract funding. The University is currently completing a $200 million capital campaign. The university has been actively involved in addressing issues in Central California and engaging itself with the entire region. Dr. Welty has served on both of the CSU System’s major strategic planning efforts. He participated in the creation of the Voluntary System of Accountability which has been adopted by over 200 colleges and universities. He is called upon frequently to discuss the role of engaged universities. He has served on several advisory groups to the U.S. Departments of Education and Agriculture. He is a past-chair of the Renaissance Group which is a national organization of over 30 Universities dedicated to improved teacher education programs. He co-chaired the CSU’s effort to create CALState Teach, an innovative program designed for emergency credentialed teachers and chaired a CSU group on preparing educational leaders. He chairs the Cal State Online Advisory Board, is Chair of the CSU Gender Equity Monitoring Committee and also serves on the executive board of the Central California Campus Compact. He joined the Board of the California Healthcare Foundation in 2012. In addition, he has chaired three national conferences on substance abuse and prevention and chaired a CSU effort to review alcohol policies and programs.

Dr. Welty is a national leader in higher education. He was elected to serve as WASC Commissioner in 2000 and served a three year term as the WASC Commission Chair. He is past chair of the American Humanics, Inc. Board and the American Association of State

Colleges and Universities, and WAC Board of Directors. He was appointed

to the Urban Serving Universities (USU) Board in 2012. He served on the NCAA Board Executive Committee and the special NCAA Task Force on the Future of Intercollegiate A t h l e t i c s . Currently, he serves on the NCAA Board of Directors and is the Mountain West

representat ive to the Bowl

Conference Series (BCS) Oversight Committee. Locally, Dr. Welty has been a leader in establishing

the Fresno Business Council, the Central Valley Business Incubator, the Central Valley Higher Education Consortium, the Collaborative Regional Initiative, the Regional Jobs Initiative, the Kenneth L. Maddy Institute and several other partnerships.

In 1999, Dr. Welty was presented the Chief Executive Leadership Award by the Council for Advancement and Support for Education and was recognized by the John Templeton Foundation for his leadership in Student Character Development in Schools and Colleges. In 2001 and again in 2011, he was recognized by the California State Student Association as President of the Year. In 2003, he received the Fresno Business Council’s Excellence in Public Service Award. In 2007, he received the Fresno Compact’s Harold H. Haak Award for Outstanding Business Partnership Educator of the Year. In 2008, he was named an American Humanics 60th Anniversary Honoree and in 2009 he was named an ACPA Educational Leadership Foundation Diamond Honoree. In 2010, he received the Sequoia Award from the Great Valley Center and was awarded an honorary doctorate by Western Illinois University. In 2012, he was presented with the William M. Lyles Vision Award for his contribution to advancing entrepreneurship throughout the Central Valley. He has also consulted with many institutions and served on the boards of several campus and community organizations.

Previously, Dr. Welty served as President of Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) for seven years. Prior to assuming the presidency of IUP, he served as Vice President for Student and University Affairs for four years.

A native of Amboy, Illinois, Dr. Welty has served as an Admissions Counselor at Michigan State University, East Lansing, and as Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs at Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota. At the State University of New York, Albany, he was Director of Residences, Associate Dean for Student Affairs, and Assistant Professor of Counseling and Student Development.

Dr. Welty received his bachelor’s degree in Social Science from Western Illinois University, Macomb in 1965; his master’s in College Student Personnel Services from Michigan State University in 1967; and his doctorate in Administration of Higher Education from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1974.

Dr. Welty and his wife, Dr. Sharon Brown-Welty, have fi ve children and three grandchildren.

Since 2005, conference championships and advancement to NCAA Championship competition has been achieved in the sports of women’s basketball, track & fi eld, women’s soccer, baseball, women’s golf, softball and men’s and women’s tennis, with four enjoying a Top-20 national ranking, and baseball capturing the 2008 National Championship. Additionally, Fresno State student-athletes have advanced to post-season competition in the sports of football, men’s basketball and equestrian. The success of Bulldog student-athletes led Fresno State to three Western Athletic Conference Commissioner’s Cups in a fi ve-year span (2007-08, 2008-09 & 2011-12). Additionally, Sports Illustrated’s SI.com ranked Fresno State the nation’s 18th most accomplished NCAA Division I athletics program for 2007-08.

Prior to his arrival in Fresno in July of 2005, Boeh spent the previous 10 years as the Director of Athletics at Ohio University, where he led the program to exceptional levels in numerous categories and earning numerous conference championships.

In 2001, The Sporting News ranked Ohio’s department 32nd among the 115 NCAA I-A institutions, the highest ranking of any non-BCS program. The ranking included evaluations for competitive success, fan support, integrity and equity. Ohio earned an “A” rating in graduation rates and NCAA compliance and posted an eight-year high graduation rate of 73 percent in 2004.

Under Boeh’s leadership, Ohio was extremely aggressive in its efforts to achieve gender equity and compliance with Title IX. Three women’s sports programs were initiated during Boeh’s tenure, and in 2004 The Chronicle of Higher Education reported that Ohio ranked second nationally among all NCAA I-A institutions relative to the equity of men’s and women’s sport program expenditures.

Additionally, numerous women’s facilities were constructed; sports budgets were restructured and decision-making procedures were reorganized to establish what Boeh refers to as an “authentic gender-neutral environment.” Annual fundraising totals rose more than 500 percent and Ohio Athletics concluded the University’s Bicentennial Capital Campaign by exceeding its $10 million departmental goal.

Some of the more visible changes on the Ohio campus during Boeh’s tenure were the facilities for student-athlete support services, practice and competition. In all, 44 facilities saw major renovation or new construction and Ohio’s athletics physical plant was recognized as being among the best and most effi cient in the Midwest.

In addition, Boeh served a term as the Mid-American Conference (MAC) representative to the NCAA Management Council, the NCAA’s

most prestigious governing body for athletics administrators. Boeh also served as the chair of the MAC Athletics Directors’ Group and member of the MAC Executive Council.

Prior to his tenure at Ohio, Boeh served as Associate Director of Athletics for External Affairs at Northwestern University, overseeing areas such as development, marketing, ticket operations, sports publications, media services, game management and broadcast properties. Boeh also led the popular “Expect Victory” campaign, Northwestern’s fi rst-ever multimedia marketing effort.

Preceding Northwestern, Boeh served the University of Maine as Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Administration and Development. He also spent time in a variety of roles with the Big Ten Television Network, The University of Illinois, and his alma mater, Loras College of Iowa.

The Chicago-area native received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education with a minor in History at Loras in 1981, and a Master of Science degree in Athletic Administration from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 1988.

In addition to serving as the department’s primary spokesperson with oversight of advertising, communications, marketing, merchandising, licensing, ticket sales, video services and web operations,

Ladwig has also assumed a primary leadership role in the Bulldog Foundation. He has been instrumental in the cultivation of philanthropic giving to Fresno State Athletics and student-athlete scholarships.

During his tenure, Ladwig has led multiple reorganizations to allow for the integration and merging of all external communication and outreach under his direction. These measures have fostered more consistent processes that help promote and enhance Fresno State Athletics on a daily basis. He has built with stronger media partnerships and spearheaded the addition of a new videoboard at Bulldog Stadium and creation of environmentally-conscious virtual team guides. Ladwig is also a leader in developing attractive value oriented experiences for fans.

A strong advocate of the importance of social media (and extremely active on Twitter @PaulLadwig), he has also increased the exposure of Fresno State Athletics through the creation of the Bulldog Sports Network, the Bulldog Insider (a weekly television show dedicated solely to coverage of Bulldog Athletics) and fi nding fresh ways to tell Fresno State stories through new and existing media partnerships. His vision continues to bring fans superior story-telling that incorporate the latest technologies. Collaborating with media rights holder as the department’s liaison to Learfi eld Sports’ Bulldog Sports Properties, new and additional programming for radio and television were developed. Ladwig led the search for the addition of a living four-legged mascot to the Bulldog family, Victor E. Bulldog.

People around the world curious about the Bulldogs will continue to log onto a constantly updating Gobulldogs.com website with expanded content, video and increased participatory site interaction. Fresno State Athletics Communications took the lead nationally in developing a paperless media guide in 2009. Environmental awareness, cost containment, and the ability to provide instant information to the media are several factors in the implementation of this paperless delivery system.

With a vast and varied career, Ladwig came to Fresno State after serving as the Assistant Athletics Director for Creative Services at Ohio University. At Ohio University, he was charged with ensuring an effective, consistent and progressive approach from game-day activities to marketing to image enhancement. Ohio saw a record-breaking sellout crowd at Peden Stadium when the Bobcats defeated Pittsburgh on ESPN in their 2005 home opener. Innovative, Ladwig was instrumental in creating the Ohio Sports Network, the refi nement of Ohio University’s web presence and the production of programming for public television.

Betsy Mosher is entering her eighth year at Fresno State and second as Deputy Director of

Athletics/Senior Woman Administrator after serving for the previous six years as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Administration and Program Integrity. She was named NACWAA’s 2012 Division I Football Bowl Subdivision Administrator of the Year.

Mosher has formal oversight of all sport supervisors, supervisory capacity regarding student-athlete welfare issues, and is formally defi ned as the department’s top administrator in the absence of the Director of Athletics. During her tenure at Fresno State, Mosher’s guidance has been a key component in the athletics department’s unprecedented achievement by the student-athlete community in the areas of academic development , NCAA compliance, gender equity, sports medicine, strength and conditioning, and student-athlete services.

Mosher has helped guide the Bulldogs to signifi cant improvements in the department’s Academic Progress Rate, equity in participation and fi nancial aid and student-athlete welfare initiatives. Mosher has established herself as a national leader in fostering an elite and equitable student-athlete experience. She also plays a critical role in representing the institution at the conference level and oversaw the Bulldogs’ transition to the Mountain West Conference. Mosher came to Fresno State after spending three years (2002-05) as the Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Administration and Compliance Services at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

With an extensive background that includes prominent leadership positions at three NCAA Division I institutions as well as with the Big Ten Offi ce and the NCAA, Mosher’s duties at Fresno State include the supervision of fi ve Bulldogs’ athletics programs (baseball, men’s and women’s tennis and men’s and women’s basketball) as well as oversight of the department’s NCAA and Western Athletic Conference compliance programs, student-athlete services, the athletic training and the strength and conditioning departments. Mosher will serve as the SWA for conference and NCAA representation.

At UMass, she was a member of the athletics department senior management team and was responsible for the formulation of the department’s strategic plan. Assisting with a campus response to a second round NCAA self study, Mosher oversaw the department’s compliance program, including the formulation of a systems manual and an upgrade of the recruitment monitoring system. Additionally, Mosher oversaw the admission process for student-athletes as well as served as a department liaison for personnel actions during a six month transition period.

Mosher, who supervised women’s tennis, baseball and cross country and track and fi eld

at Massachusetts, was a liaison to the Athletic Council’s Subcommittees for Compliance and for Vision. An NCAA Peer Reviewer, she was named to the NCAA Academic, Eligibility and Compliance Cabinet in July 2005.

Prior to UMass, Mosher spent six years (1996-2002) as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Administration and Compliance/SWA at Arizona State University. A member of ASU’s athletic senior management team, she oversaw the school’s compliance, academic and student services as well as the personnel areas. She also supervised the sports of volleyball, softball, soccer and wrestling while working closely with the women’s basketball program.

Mosher served as a liaison to Arizona State’s general counsel, the school’s Intercollegiate Athletics Board, the Pacifi c-10 Conference and the NCAA. Representing the Sun Devils on numerous Pac-10 and NCAA committees, she was the 1999-2000 vice president of the Pac-10 council and former NCAA softball committee member. Mosher also assisted with the second round certifi cation process at ASU and served as the OCR liaison.

Prior to Arizona State, Mosher spent seven years (1989-96) at Northwestern. With fi ve years as an assistant athletics director and two as an associate athletics director for intercollegiate services, she also served as the department’s SWA. Her primary duties for the Wildcats included oversight of compliance, academic services and athletics admissions as well as supervision of the baseball, women’s basketball, tennis and swimming programs. She was chair of the Big 10 Women’s Administrator’s Group and the Conference’s Rules and Legislation Committee. Prior to Northwestern, Mosher was a legislative assistant at the Big Ten Conference offi ce (1988-89) and also served as an NCAA compliance representative (1986-88).

Prior to her move into administration, Mosher was the head women’s basketball and softball coach at California State (Pa.) from 1980-85 and began her collegiate athletics career as the women’s basketball coach at Wisconsin-Whitewater (1977-79).

Receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Illinois State in 1972, a Master of Arts degree in Physical Education from Northern Colorado in 1976, and a Director’s Degree from Indiana University (1986), Mosher also was selected to attend the NACWAA Institute for Athletics Executive in the summer of 2002. Mosher is a current member of NACDA and NACWAA.

JOHN KRIEBSASSOCIATE A.D./ FACILITIES &OPERATIONS

John J. Kriebs is in his 12th year at Fresno State, serving as associate athletics

director for facilities and operations. Kriebs oversees Fresno State’s internal operations, including events, facilities, information technology, equipment, department fl eet and serves as the sport supervisor for multiple teams.

Kriebs is responsible for NCAA and WAC tournament bidding and management. He successfully brought the 2004 WAC basketball and three NCAA women’s basketball championships, including two Regionals in 2007 and 2012.

He serves as the liaison for campus planning, parking, kinesiology and the concession operations. During his tenure, he spearheaded Fresno State’s transition into the $103 million Save Mart Center, coordinating construction and facility projects including the locker rooms, equipment and training rooms and the Bulldog Shop. Recently, he has overseen the construction of a state-of-the-art aquatics venue, lacrosse and soccer fi eld, softball indoor batting cages and the planning for a new sports medicine center.

Kriebs came to Fresno State after serving as an assistant athletics director at Southwest Missouri State from 1994-99. While there, he oversaw nine Olympic sports as well as budgeting, personnel and scheduling. Prior to his position at SMS, Kriebs was the Bears’ wrestling head coach from 1989-94. He was highly successful in that capacity, earning Midwest Regional Coach of the Year honors in 1994 and guiding the program’s fi rst ever Division I All-American in any sport. In all, he coached 12 NCAA qualifi ers and broke 15 school records. Kriebs’ coaching career began at the University of Northern Iowa, where he served as an assistant from 1984-89 and helped guide the Panthers to fi ve top 10 fi nishes.

The Dubuque, Iowa, native is a 1984 graduate of Northern Iowa, where he was a two-time All-American wrestler. As a senior, he was the nation’s No. 1 ranked heavyweight. He qualifi ed for the NCAA’s all four years and was picked to wrestle in the prestigious All-Star Wrestling Showcase.

Kriebs has a wife, Geri, a daughter, Jordan, and a son, Jack.

RYAN REGGIANIASSISTANT A.D./ EXTERNAL RELATIONS

Ryan Reggiani is in his fourth year at Fresno State and second as the Assistant Athletics

Director for External Relations, managing the day-to-day functions of communications, marketing and video production services. Reggiani is a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Fresno State and has been the chair for several search committees.

Reggiani manages media contracts, and serves as a liaison to Bulldog Sports Properties, an entity of Learfi eld Sports, and Legends Sales & Marketing. In the summer of 2012, Reggiani oversaw the website redesign and launch of gobulldogs.com, working with CBS College Sports, designing a user friendly website, with the latest social media aspects built in to give the best fan experience when visiting.

While social media has taken off while Reggiani has been at Fresno State, the Athletics department’s Facebook page has tripled in likes and its Twitter handle has doubled in followers. The department’s focus from the external side has been focused on building a social media platform to engage fans of Fresno State at every level. With signifi cant experience and strong ties to the San Joaquin Valley, he has covered high-profi le colleges in some of the nation’s top media markets and placed an emphasis on maximizing new and existing revenue streams, social media platforms while providing engaging content with innovative technology.

Prior to the 2011 football season, Reggiani led the marketing and ticket sales effort of the Battle of the Bay, featuring Fresno State football versus California at Candlestick Park. The third-party game provided a signifi cant boost to the department’s budget, as over 14,000 tickets were sold through Fresno State and over 20,000 fans showed up to the neutral site game in San Francisco. In the spring of 2012, Reggiani was the Media Coordinator for the Women’s Basketball NCAA Regional hosted at the Save Mart Center in Fresno. Reggiani has served as the lead marketing coordinator for the Bulldog football program for the past three seasons, after three and a half years as an Assistant Media Relations Director with the University of Hawai’i Athletics Department. While at UH, Reggiani developed and managed the communications strategy for their sports teams.

Reggiani received his master’s degree in sports administration from Saint Mary’s in 2005 and bachelor’s degree in mass communication and journalism from California State University, Fresno in 2001.

STEVEROBERTELLOASSOCIATE A.D./ INTERCOLLEGIATE SERVICES

Steve Robertello joined the Fresno State Department of Athletics in

December 2012 as the Associate Athletics Director of Intercollegiate Services.

“We are fortunate to have Steve join the Bulldog family in this signifi cant leadership role,” said Boeh on Robertello’s hiring. “His numerous years of exceptional experience at the Division I FBS level, combined with his demonstrated fi rm conviction that student-athlete welfare and “doing things the right way” are paramount, make him an ideal fi t for Fresno State Athletics. The entire Bulldog community will benefi t greatly from Steve’s guidance, insight and passion for intercollegiate athletics.”

Robertello, a graduate of West Virginia University, will oversee the branches of compliance, student-athlete services, sports medicine and strength and conditioning.

For the past 10 years, Robertello has worked at Washington State University. Most recently he served as the Associate Director of Athletics/Compliance in Pullman where he directed the day-to-day operations of the WSU Athletics Compliance Offi ce. Robertello served as a member of the WSU Athletics Department Executive Staff, as well as the Athletics Department liaison to the WSU Admissions Offi ce.

At the conference level, Robertello served on the Pac-12 Conference Legislative Committee and Recruiting Task Force. For the NCAA, he served on the Amateurism Fact-Finding Committee as a member (2008-12) and committee chair (2010-12) and was the NCAA Site Coordinator for the 2005 NCAA Men’s Tennis Championships fi rst and second rounds.

Prior to WSU, Robertello spent two and a half years as a Compliance Coordinator at Arizona State University, two years as an Athletics Compliance Offi ce Assistant, and Assistant Director of Compliance at Villanova University and one year as a Athletic Compliance Offi ce Graduate Assistant at West Virginia University.

Robertello graduated from West Virginia with a Master’s of Science in Sport Management and Bachelor of Science.

MEDIA/PHOTO CREDENTIALSRequests for media/photo credentials should be submitted online at gobulldogs.com/media at least 48 hours prior to the event. Priority is granted to full-time employees of media entities that cover Fresno State athletics on a regular basis, which includes coverage of press conferences, open practices, home and road games, and to visiting media members. Freelance and amateur photographers not on assignment are not eligible for photo credentials, except by prior approval from the Fresno State Athletics Communications Office. Credentials may be picked up in the Athletics Communications Office prior to the day of the event.

Note: Web sites that sponsor message boards, message centers or chat rooms where people are allowed to post anonymous information will not be issued credentials. If a medium has an online site that sponsors these anonymous forums, they may continue to receive credentials under its traditional medium (newspaper, magazine, radio, television), but will not be granted additional passes for online staff.

PHOTO REGULATIONSPhotographers may walk around the perimeter of the playing areas, but not on the putting greens or tee boxes. Still photographers are asked to remain a reasonable distance so

shutter sounds do not distract the golfers while they swing. The Fresno State Athletics Department reserves all commercial and non-commercial rights to the use of film, videotapes and still photographs of its athletics events, student-athletes, staff and facilities.

INTERVIEW POLICYRequests for interviews with student-athletes and coaches should be made through the Fresno State Athletics Communications Office and should be made at least 24 hours in advance to ensure availability. The Fresno State locker and training rooms are closed to the media.
