Organization in Nutshell:
Prasang Magaswargiya Samaj Kalyan Sanstha, a registered, non-profit, non-
government development organization works with Urban and Rural areas in Thane and Washim
districts of Maharashtra State.
The main focus of the organization is to empower the rural and urban poor through interventions.
This has been a remarkable year for the organization since many candidates of the academy has
received jobs in various departments of Central and State governments.
Our most important interventions are:

Health for urban and rural population and the old aged people

Vision of the organization:
The organization intends to reconstruct the society that is:
-Based on equality, socially acceptable, economically viable, environmentally sound
And, Addressing the needs and rights of the children, tribal women and marginalized sections.
Mission of the organization:
To build capacities of the women, youth, marginalized groups and tribal communities in
order to promote their empowerment and self-reliance to secure long term well being.
Strategies for the current year:
Liasioning with all line departments of the State government to utilize their resources.
Mobilization of the rural youth and farmers to implement agricultural innovations
Initiate the massive health services for old aged population
1. RURAL INTERVENTIONS:

A. Career Academy:
For this year, results of the academy are remarkable. Many candidates have passed competitive examinations of the Central, State and the forest departments.
As per the new policy of the organization, the candidates for the coaching classes
have been selected through competitive examination of the organization.
The objectives of academy are:
To prepare the needy and poor students to appear for examinations of
Railway, Indian forces, banks, LIC and other D groups competitive
examinations of the State and Central government.
To organize lectures of the experts to equip the students with skills of
solving the question papers in systematic way.

B. Workshop on the Atrocity Act: 1989
Organizing the workshops on the Atrocity Act is ongoing activity of the
organization. For this year, the organization has conducted the atrocity workshops
on May 9, 2013 and January 2, 2014 at Washim, Vidarbaha.
The youth Mandals and concerns of the social work and degree colleges, Local self
government and Grampanchayat members of Washim district participated in the
workshops.

Objectives of the workshop are:
To develop the cadre of the trained human right activist to deal with the cases of
atrocities in Washim district.
To sensitize the systems on the atrocity act, its importance and mechanism with the
Constitution of India and International women and human rights.

C. Environment (Vasundhara Project)
Programs of Vasundhara Project are continued in the villages of Washim district.
The focus of this year was to select the barren and waste lands for agro forestry.
The farmers and youth are imparted skills of advance farming.
Program of Vasundhara Project are farmer centric. The overall purpose of
Vasundhara Project is to prosper the rural areas and improve the overall conditions
of the barren and waste lands and of the farmers in villages around Jaipur-Dhilli.
1. Rehabilitation of the degradable land:
Short term trainings on rehabilitation of the waste and barren are continued in the
villages around Jaipur-Dhilli, Dist Washim for the farmers. The training programs
are conducted on the following themes .
Entire process of the bio-composting
Developing agro forestry for rehabilitation of the waste and barren land
How to develop farms for floriculture and horticulture

2. Plantations :
Process of plantation is continued in the few villages. It is planned to
distribute the plants like Neem, turmeric, lemon, mango, awala, Gauva etc.

D. Health
The aim of intervention in this area has been to provide health services to the
children, women, pregnant mothers, lactating mothers and old aged people
living in of Washim block, Vidarbha.
The awareness programs on HIV/AIDs are conducted specially for the youths.
The focus of awareness program was to make aware the rural youth on infection
of HIV/AIDS and how to take preventive measures.
The objectives of the health project are:
To provide health service to the rural population.
To organize awareness program on HIV/AIDS for youth
To refer the serious cases to the district hospital and experts for further
diagnosis and treatment.
To use the government resources to organize the general and special
health checks up camps.

E. Day care Centre:
Rehabilitative and curative services for the old aged persons are continued for the
old aged person at jaipur-Dhilli Village Washim district.
The following services are being provided:

Regular health checkup camps and referral to

Counseling and moral support
Training program on the Income generation
Outcomes of intervention:
150 old aged persons are provided the rehabilitative and curative services.
Their family members are sensitized on the needs and rights of the old aged
persons.
The old aged person are also trained and sensitized to adjust with their family members.
Five persons have gone under cataract surgery
A ripple is created among the family members to care old aged persons.
II. URBAN INTERVENTIONS:

A. Fire Fighting:
Present batch is the VI batch of fire fighting course at Ambernath city. Response
for this course has been very tremendous since fire fighting is job oriented course
and returns are high. In addition this, the certificate of the fire fighting is very
important for recruitment of Indian forces and Police department.
Based on internal evaluation, the organization commenced forth batch of the fire
fighting course at Ambernath, Dist Thane.
The organization has developed the curriculum for Fire Fighting course. Few more
topics are included in curriculum of the Fire Fighting course. The task of
developing the profile of the past candidate is in progress. The profile will be sent
to the Companies, Municipal Corporation and Merchant Navy for providing them
suitable placement.

B. Women Empowerment:

Entrepreneurship Development Program, EDP are conducted in alliance with
Central Board of Workers Education, Kurla, Mumbai, Ministry of Labor
,Govt. of India The purpose of the EDP was to develop entrepreneurship among
the women living in the s lums and Chawls of Ambernath city .

C. Health:

Health intervention is tremendous beneficial to improve the health status of the
rural poor residing at Ambernath and around Ambernath city. Our goal for
providing the health services is to cover maximum urban poor through medical
services. The volunteers force is a supportive system that we have developed in the
slum and tribal areas to facilitate the camps.
