Your Pet Needs a Microchip Microchips are a safe, easy and inexpensive
way to help your pets get home if they
get lost. A tiny chip the size of a grain of
rice is implanted under the skin; most
shelters and veterinarians can scan the
chip to find out where they belong. Until
they get pockets, it’s a safe way to help
them find their way back to you.

I Bet You Get a Rabbit Rabbit Week is this month, and people are
always surprised at what great pets they
make. They have great personalities, can be
litter box trained, and love toys. Rabbits love
to be cuddled and played with, and can live
for several years. Don’t overlook one of the
greatest pets you’ve never had … yet!

Rescued from a dumpster, “Kuk” was a partially blind feral foundling that never
behaved like a normal house cat. Possessed with a wild and crazy look and blessed with the softest silkiest coat, Kuk showed the genes of an Angora.
Despite having very serious health conditions his whole life, Kuk always bounced back from what Vets thought were near death scenarios. Alas, his 9 lives gave way at nearly 18 years. Imbued with a great and unusual personality; he feigned
indifference while showing unconditional love like only a cat can. He is greatly missed.

Old Animals Need Love, Too Contrary to popular belief, you can teach old dogs new tricks. And they can teach us a thing or two, as well. During Senior Pet Month, you can give a sweet old critter with lots of life left a chance at a new home. They’ve already got a few years of practice under their belt. Got a senior pet already? Treat them to something extra special this week. After all, they deserve it.

Keep Your Pets Warm Everyone knows how cold
our winters can be. For pets who have to spend their days
or nights outside, winter holidays can be the furthest thing
from festive. When the mercury starts to go down, it’s
time for us to pay special attention to our animals. Keep
your pets warm and dry this winter, and
if you see a pet in need of help, ask your
local animal authority to lend a hand.
